World tour have agreed to a shock merger with the saudi backed liv golf. This comes despite the pending litigation between pga and liv. That will now be halted as they move forward as part of the same enterprise. Over the past year liv golf caused huge disruption in the mens game, with top players such as rory mcllroy and tiger woods boldly criticising it. But other players such as Brooks Koepka joined liv golf for large sums with the backing of the Saudi Arabia Public Investment fund. The bbc s golf correspondent iain carter believes it is the big investment being offered that has made this deal possible. Players can get along fine when they are playing for the biggest prizes. Money is the massive driver here, the likes of rory mcilroy and the establishment from the live setup, they used to be west friends. Michael roy was a groomsmen at garcias wedding. They now do not speak. But that sort of thing will be shoved to one side. What we wait to see is what shape mens golf take Going Forward but they will be Going Forward but they will be Going Forward but they will be Going Forward with a significant cash investment from saudi arabia as part of the backbone financing. Lets discuss this further with nigel currie a Sponsorship Consultant at nc partnership. Good morning nigel. Is this a hole in i for saudi arabia . Well, both parties really need each other. They had to come to some sort of agreement. Otherwise things were going to implode. I think it will be interesting to see what happens over the next six months because there has been a lot of dirty laundry aired and i think they have a lot of sorting out to do before we can move forward. To do before we can move forward to do before we can move forward. A , forward. As you say it is very difficult forward. As you say it is very difficult. It forward. As you say it is very difficult. It makes forward. As you say it is very difficult. It makes financial i difficult. It makes Financial Sense but on many levels it will be a hard one to push through. Players like rory mcilroy was so vocal in his opposition of liv. What does it mean for players such as him . He has said a lot of things and it will be very, very tough for him. But he has no option. This is now the world tour of golf and he has nowhere else to go. So he has to be part of it. Otherwise he has no way to play his game. So he must conform so there needs to be a lot of healing done and old friendships made up to enable the whole thing to work. Liar the whole thing to work. Liv golf did not have a television Partnership Deal at once as such and existing tv deals cannot be scrapped for current tournaments. How will that play out Going Forward . Liar out Going Forward . Liv desperately out Going Forward . L desperately needed a lot of what the existing traditional tours had, the four majors, the history of the event and they seem to have got that now. The existing tours, have a lot of extra money and it is just how it will play out. You will see a shift in power away from america, probably towards other countries, particularly the middle east. The countrys government still hopes for 5 growth this year, but many analysts are now predicting a lower figure after todays numbers. A prolific russian Cyber Crime Gang is thought to be behind a massive hack attack, which saw more than 100,000 staff at the bbc, British Airways and boots data stolen. Our the clop group posted a notice on the dark web warning those affected by the hack to email them before illjune or stolen data will be published. Employers are being urged not to pay up if the hackers demand a ransom. Lets now focus on another crackdown on crypto by us regulators. This time its coinbase, the largest Crypto Trading platform in america. The securities and Exchange Commission or sec, wall streets main regulator, is suing coinbase for operating as an Exchange Without registering as one. It comes a day after the sec filed 13 charges against binance and its billionaire creator. Our north America Business correspondent Samira Hussain reports from new york. In these latest charges the sec said that coinbase acted as a Broker Exchange and Clearing Agency for investment that are subject to sec rules. But agency for investment that are subject to sec rules. Subect to sec rules. But they did subject to sec rules. But they did so without subject to sec rules. But they did so without properly did so without properly registering and that allowed the firm to escape oversight. The charges against coinbase were not a surprise as a publicly traded company it disclosed in march this year that the sec had notified it that the sec had notified it that these charges may be coming. In response, coyne bay said that the rules were not clear. Testifying on capitol hill on tuesday, the Chief Legal Officer said it tried to get new rules in place for crypto platforms like theres but got no response from the sec. Since that time we have had over 30 engagements with the sec to try and work towards a sensible framework for regulation that would allow registration of platforms is either a Broker Dealer or a National Security exchange. We received no response after our presentation as part of those discussions. On one hand, coinbase basically says we want to abide by your rules but the ones is written do not work for these new Financial Instruments like crypto currency. On the other hand, the regulator says that rules are rules and you are running afoul of them. It seems the United States is making good on its promise to aggressively enforce rules to oversee the crypto industry. Well theres been an update on binance. The us securities and Exchange Commission has filed a temporary Restraining Order to freeze binance assets after investors pulled 780 million out of the exchange in just 2a hours. It comes after the us regulator announced it was going to sue the firm over an alleged web of deception. You have the organisation that my own people work closely with which is the federation of small businesses. And they do a really good job. I think it is important now that we rationalise a little bit so that business has a really powerful voice to deal with government. We also need to have people in business who are prepared to stand up to whitehall because far too often they have been looking towards a knighthood or things like that and so they tend to be a little bit weak in challenging whitehall when whitehall does some pretty stupid things and desperately, we need this. Now, we all know social media is a great way to keep in touch with your friends and family, but is it also a useful tool for ceos leading companies. Weve been speaking to one ceo, who has thousands of staff in his retail empire, who thinks social media like instagram and linkedin, is a great tool for communicating with employees too. I believe to be a successful ceo you need to communicate through social media to be relevant in the modern world. I dont do social media for myself. I do it to show leadership and as a ceo you set goals and objectives for the group and you have to live up to them and demonstrate you are delivering on them and using social media gives people evidence that these things are happening. As a leader and ceo it is very important to be transparent. Social media enabled me to do that. Its not like sending a newsletter or internal webinar to staff, it shows consistency to what we are saying to my employees im saying the same thing to our customers and investors and its been great for investing new talent. A lot of our employers are generally, and typically on social media and it has undergone a huge transportation what is transformational change and we have done things like Fitness Camps and demonstrating that on social media attracts the and show them the opportunity of joining the group. And have a really lovely day whatever you are up to. If you are watching us globally, we will be back in a few minutes. Hello, there. Youve probably noticed the weather not really changing very much over recent times, and thats because High Pressures been firmly dominating. And with High Pressure around, its not rained very much anywhere. But in warwickshire, in church lawford, you have to go back to may 11 that was the last time it rained so thats nearly four weeks of dry weather. Some of the warmest weather has been across in northern ireland, county tyrone. Its been very warm in castlederg for the last nine days, but five of these recent days have seen temperatures reach 2a degrees thats six above average. Now, its the west that had the highest temperatures again on tuesday, but england, stuck underneath this area of cloud, had much lower temperatures in many areas for example, in leek, in staffordshire, 18 degrees on monday, 12 degrees on tuesday. We also had some cloud dropping the temperatures in parts of West Scotland as well. Now, over the next few hours, were seeing that cloud again thicken up across parts of england, wales, northern and eastern scotland. You might find a few spots of drizzle, although predominantly, it will be a dry start to the day on wednesday. The best of the Early Morning sunshine, like recent times, will be across these Western Areas of the country. Could be a few mist patches clearing and lifting, and then the sunshine comes out. I think there is a better chance of seeing this cloud break up across the midlands, east wales, so you probably will see some sunshine. But there could be some areas of Eastern England again that keep the cloud all day. Where that happens, temperatures into the teens but otherwise, i think more of us will see temperatures into the low 20s. And with those sunny conditions out west, well see some very high levels of Pollen Building in across parts of england and wales, so it could be quite a sneezy day for hay fever sufferers allergic to grass pollen. Now, for thursday, again, there could be a bit of cloud around across eastern areas probably east scotland, northeast england, the favoured spots for holding on to that. But otherwise, plenty of sunshine around, and those temperatures again reaching the mid 20s in the very warmest areas. We then do start to see a change, courtesy of this storm system storm oscar thats been bringing some torrential rain to madeira. What thats going to do it moves to the southwest of the uk, and it shoves a load of humid air across the country. And so, well see a change in the Weather Conditions as we head into the weekend. As it turns more humid, well start to see some showers and thunderstorms break out. And although the rain from these will be hit and miss in nature, some could see the first significant rain for four weeks
