Can it it didn t want to know yeah the thickness is a little bit like if you get a Wicks and get one of those one Coke it s a little bit like. It s like a lot of other disgusting things Ok but oh this is number 3. Now the c.e.o. Of the defense medical welfare service Nikki Murdoch has been visiting Cyprus Anthony balance caught up with her and asked her what the d. M.W. s does essentially we provide a professional welfare service to the Armed Forces community that s all serving personnel veterans reservists and their families all over the world the service provides professional support when people are going through the scariness of being in hospital for whatever reason and what s the purpose of your visit here in Cyprus I have a team in Cypress as I do in Germany and parts of the quay and really have just come over to see that everybody is operating effectively with the Ministry of Defense with him we have a contract are happy with the service that we re delivering and most importantly that we re providing was patients need when they re in hospital your organization has been around quite a long time and your charity yes we are we descended from the older son John of Jerusalem and the British Red Cross Society back in 1043 so next year is our 75th anniversary and we ve been providing support through charitable means the relief of need all of the time all over the world and what do you think some of the challenges are providing the service such as you do overseas to people Well I think anybody going in tough spittle even if it s a planned admission you know will have concerns and maybe fear is if it s an emergency admission then you re in a totally different ballgame and it s frightening if you ve got your immediate family be arranged it s probably a little bit easier that you know you ve got that support but in. Cypress you ve got a very different culture in the hospitals that operate in the area say for example in an n.h.s. Hospital in the u.k. You would expect to see people in nesses coming to see you in Cyprus and in Germany there are small. What s in individual rooms and they won t come to see you have need ministration of medicine unless you ask them to Knott s a completely different culture and then of course you ve got the issues around language and welfare offices in Cyprus and the Japanese speak German or Greek so there s an ability to translate the language of the every room which you re operating and know samey the physical language but actually the language of the medical and explain how that might roll out in terms of treatment plan the length of the stay in hospital and those sorts of things do you think it s important that you have a 3rd party person that there s almost like removed from the situation itself yes I think it is but I would say that wouldn t I I think in terms of having an independent impartial professionally trained welfare officer who can listen to concern and understand what s required in terms of the medical treatment just sorting out the grit from the engine when you ve been admitted somewhere.
