Two bikers are under arrest following the violent confrontation between a group of motorcyclists and a drive of an suv in new york city. Police, theyre still investigating. One faction of one party in one house of congress, in one branch of government shut down major parts of the government, all because they didnt like one law. Neither the Senate Democratic majority or the president of the United States have any interest whatsoever into entering into any discussions about how to resolve this impasse. My goodness, they wont even sit down and have a discussion about this. House republicans tried but failed to pass bills that would have funded portions of the government. Meantime, uncertainty looms for the families of some 800,000 federal workers facing furloughs. People will inspect our airplanes, our cars, our food, all facing the prospect of being told to go home unsure when they will be paid again. I dont get paid i go home. On the good side, i get to spend more time with moye daughter. On the flip side, i might not get paid. Real people, folks. The shutdown could cost furloughed workers 1 billion in salary. The overall impact, if they prolong the shutdown, tens of billions of dollars. Theres so many people affected. The museums and National Parks closed for viewing. Some of the visitors turned away at National Park tuesday including tourists who have come from around the world to see one of americas scenic treasures. I was really upset. So im fightinging on their behalf, and believe that im representing them according to what they elected me to do. What is inevitable is that congress has the responsibility to fund the government. To pass bills that keep the government open. You know, the president s position is clear. He has been all year and continues to be eager and willing to sit down with lawmakers of both parties to work out a longer, broader budget compromise. That funds our priorities, invests in our future. And reduces our deficit. Continuing the work that hes done since he took office in reducing the deficit by more than half. But what he wont do is negotiate under threat of shutdown, or threat of default. So the Government Shutdown even extend into the world of sports now. Folks. This is getting serious. But because of the shutdown, both of those games might not happen. The Defense Department temporarily suspended competition at the academies tuesday after the shutdown. A spokesperson at the Defense Department said theyre trying to determine theyre trying to determine if they can fund travel for the games with nongovernment money. Air force and navy have played every year since 1972. This game, of course, its a she sellout. The final decision is expected tomorrow afternoon at the latest. For the first time in 21 years, the Pittsburgh Pirates hit the field for a postseason game. The buccos hosting the n. L. Card matchup. Pirates jumped on johnny cueto early. And they never looked back. Francisco liriano spanished seven straight innings. Pittsburgh wince. They go on to play their division rivalsed cardinals in the division series. In new mexico, they had problems as well. And in washington, the whole thing just froze up and the state had to shut it down for trouble shooting. Still, the team got through just fine in kentucky and oregon and other places. While the problems are widespread they do not appear to be universal. One person may find an issue in the staple state, maybe not. 36 states have opted out of obama care and havent established their insurance marketplaces. Theres plenty of heat and no light and certainly no progress in the federal Government Shutdown enters a second day. Both sides blaming each other for the shutdown that has 800,000 federal employees off the job. One faction of one party in one house of congress in one branch of government shut down major parts of the government. All because they didnt like one law. Neither the senate or democratic majority or the president of the United States have any interest whatsoever in entering into any discussions about how to resolve this impasse. My goodness, they wont even sit down and have a discussion about this. Republicans have said the democrats wont talk. But republicans will not budge off their insistence that democrats derail, defund or somehow delay the Affordable Care act. Meanwhile, republicans failed in their efforts to fund certain parts of government of their choosing. How do you feel about all of this . I think its lack i think its embarrassing that the government cant come up with solutions about this. Many people are angry about the Government Shutdown. Not the least of them, veterans they were set to have a memorial marking their service. Reporter well, john and zoraida, it took thousands of dollars of donations to get these veterans. Here they werent going to allow a piece of tape, red or yellow keep them out. World war ii veterans came to see the washington memorable. I dont get it. Im furious. Theyre the kind of neighbors youd lean over the fence and talk about your chickens with. The couple raised two Adult Children regularly attending a small church in a small town. Now theyre answering allegations unpunished for more than 30 years. A bloody rampage tore through a park in new york sunday. A man wielding scissors stabbed two people and a 2yearold. In a beautiful park on the west side, home to young parents and young kids. Witnesses described the scene as utter chaos. People are like dont go there. Dont go there. Theres a man stabbing people.
