You know, within 11 minutes of israel being created, america recognized them. Theres no stronger bond we have between any other countries. I wanttothat all the members i want to thank all the members that showed up to hear what i think is a tremendous speech talking about the future and the bond that we had. Its unfortunate that there were some democrats that protested and did not come because i think they needed to hear part of that speech actually when the president talked about antisemitism and how that is wrong and that israel has a right to exist. And i saw a standing ovation when that took place, but those democrats who would not show, its just concerning of me to the growing problem inside the democratic problem when it comes to israel and antisemitism. We have another week of producing more bills out of the house, trying to make america stronger and safer. Today, we are continuing were continuing to work on the f. A. A. Well do amendments tonight. We know summer travels and the challenges that secretary buttigieg had in his job failing time and again we believe an f. A. A. Bill will solve some of the things that he has refused to solve, to make air travel safer and other transportation. And next week we will be looking to do some c. R. A. s and appropriations, continue to work through. I have a real concern the appropriations when i look at all the pelosi policies that would be permanent if we did not get appropriations done, especially if members would look to do a continuing resolution. That would only lock in pelosis policies. One of the bills we have coming up is agriculture. We watched across this country that under pelosis politics that she allowed china to buy our farmland. This is a new difference. Its a New Washington in majority with the republicans and well focus on americafirst and well protect our farmland, especially from china and others in the future. So just a few of the ideas. Well have milconva coming up. Its essential that our military has the facilities they need and especially for the v. A. These are the first areas that weve looked to. Have you watched any of that hearing . Reporter yes. Speaker mccarthy do you think those whistleblowers are credible . Do you think those i. R. S. Agents that committed themselves to work for the i. R. S. That have risked their own attacks to come forward, they are credible individuals, would you believe that . Have you heard what they have said . That here we have the bidenink family biden, inc. Family being treated fairly. When they came to an i. R. S. Agent saying he was investigating hunter biden, how was he treated . He was warned ahead of time so he wouldnt be there. The f. B. I. Told him. You know where else they went . They told the inaugural committee. Why would they reach out to the inaugural committee . Thats just the biden individuals planning for inaugural. Why would they reach out and tell his attorneys of a location the attorneys dont even know of Hunter Bidens own documents so he could be there before . But today when i listened to this hearing when it had oversight, judiciary, ways and means, we now find out, not just how it was treated, but more than 20 Shell Companies were created. Not when Vice President biden had left office but when Vice President biden became Vice President. Then we found out 16 of the 17 payments from romania, paid through Shell Companies to the bidens took place while he was Vice President. I wanted to raise that because i dont hear anybody asking those questions when i know the rest of america is wondering whats going on. Yes. Go ahead. Reporter [indiscernible] so one things democrats are bringing up today. They say theres no direct link between these whistleblowers and wrongdoing by joe biden. I want to ask you do you think there is a that link . And also, where do you think the problem is here . Are you alleging that there is misconduct by the department of justice, by merrick garland, by the f. B. I. , by the i. R. S. , by whom . Speaker mccarthy first thing, we dont have the information. We just now have the i. R. S. Agents come to us and as these very credible individuals who have now found in their job got stymied by the f. B. I. And now questions in the meetings what they were told by david weiss and what they heard from garland, somebody is lying. So we need to get to the bottom of that. Let me tell you what a misunderstanding would be. Would a misunderstanding to you be what david weiss tells in a meeting with these individuals and five others that he asked for a special prosecutor to be that and he was denied, that they wanted to prosecute in two other districts but they were told no . Garland publicly said he could have anything he wants. If he wants to prosecute, well be able to do that. But is it a misunderstanding if Somebody Just said that . Whats interesting with this is, the i. R. S. Agents took notes of the meetings because it would be a misunderstanding if someone just said that and you passed by and that was the end of it. But the i. R. S. Agent asked its i. R. S. Asked david weiss to read the question because of what he said he thought was so important. And retold that, no, i was denied being a special prosecutor. And then the notes were taken back. A question was asked again, notes were taken back and sent to everybody at the meeting. So its very hard to me, of all meetings ive been in, if someone says one thing to me, its very important, so i asked, did i hear it right, and you come back with the exact same thing, i take notes about it and i send it to all of you. So i go back to you. Do you think thats a misunderstanding . In your meetings when you talk to me, you take notes, right . Are you recording any right now . But this is, right . Ok. So thats like a note. Would that be a misunderstanding . And if you ask me another question because i answered a certain way, to reaffirm what i answered, it would really check all the boxes away for any misunderstanding. I can understand if its on a phone call and it gets caught away, that its some phone call. Maybe a phone call from one country to another. And that could be a misunderstanding. But when we talk to one another and i reask the question and i took the notes from the meeting and i sent you the notes and everybody agreed, what seems to me odd is why didnt david weiss and why doesnt garland come forward so quickly when now it seems theres a whole different question of somebody lying. Well get to the bottom and if somebodys lying, that rietzs to the place rietzs to the place of rises to the place of an impeachment inquiry. Reporter you talked about the c. R. , youve got august recess coming, the september 30 deadline. Can you do all 12 bills individually . Whats your process to avoid a shutdown . Mr. Mccarthy look at what weve been able to accomplish. Its usually not i usually dont have the fear of the house being able to do their work. Its always been the senate. The senate usually never even takes up their bill. Their whole strategy is to hold back, dont do anything, wait until christmas, and in the back of the room, create an omnibus. And send it to you and leave town and say its crucial. Well, i really, from even before i became speaker, i said, ill never put an omnibus on the floor. As you watch, he would sitting here, were going to open the house back up, were going to go back to work. I could do something about making sure the house works. But i really dont have a lot of control over the senate. But when we took up the debt ceiling, im a Firm Believer that structure dictates behavior. If we change the structure that you no longer get rewarded for not doing your job, that you can just do an omnibus and jam it in with everything you think is right, nobody can see it, well, we put a 1 cut across. Im very proud to say the senate has actually started taking their appropriation bills up. Not on the floor, but in their committees. So thats a positive. We have all ours done in committee and you are able to see them. So now lets start the process of going to the floor, youve watched time and again how productive weve been week after week after week. Well get our work done. Reporter i want to drill down on your commitment on the no omnibus thing. Are you saying that you will not bring a bill that has more than one appropriations on it . Mr. Mccarthy no, thats not the definition. Reporter im asking your definition. Mr. Mccarthy there will be times i have to put more than one together. But this is what my definition of an omnibus. Nothing gets worked in committee. Nobody gets to see it. Nobody comes to the floor. A bills going to come to the floor, i like it more as much individually as we can. In the process. I dont think at the end of the day you write something in the back of the room and put all 12 together and put them down on the floor. That is not right. The American Public deserve better. They deserve the right to know whats in the bill. To be able to read the bill. To be able to have see it debated. I think were going to be able to change all that by doing our work now. Reporter you dont just to do you think youre going to have a full year funding done by september 30 . Mr. Mccarthy that is my intention and my hope. You didnt think i could do a debt ceiling either. Reporter can you talk more about your conversation with the former president . Did he initiate it, do you initiate it . Secondly, to follow up with your remarks, do you intend to launch an impeachment inquiry against the attorney general . Mr. Mccarthy great questions. President trump did call me yesterday. We talk on a regular basis and i called him back. Wasnt anything different than the time before. Reporter strategy session in light of a possible indictment . Mr. Mccarthy no, there was no strategy session, possible indictment. I think the strategy sessions happen in the Democrats Department of justice where they go after anybody who is running against the president , it seems as though. If you go up in the polls youre more likely to get indicted. Your second question was to bring an impeachment inquiry against garlandist dont do garland. I dont do anything for political purpose. What im telling you is and i think would you all agree, you can disagree if you like, but do you not have a question, because youre all reporters, you deal with information, weiss said one thing in a meeting with six people who two whistleblower have come forward out of a threat to their own life, no political basis, one i dont know if ones a republican or not, i know ones a democrat. They took notes from a meeting. They reaffirmed what they had heard. They wanted to move forward and they watched the Justice Department and the f. B. I. Work against them. They thought it wasnt fair. They have done this job many times before. They dont see equal justice and their ability to come forward is through the ways and means. Garland has told congress and the american peopling is different people Something Different. So i would think, given all that information, you are just as inquisitive as i am, who is lying in this conversation . The role of congress, especially from a legislative purpose, is to have an investigation. Is there something we need to change legislatively . If we find that theres lies going on, that would rise to an impeachment inquiry. Where we would be, as a congress, strong empowered to get all the answers and yes, i would move to impeachment inquiry if i found that the attorney general has not only lied to the congress and senate, but to america. Reporter once the ndaa reaches conference, whats your view of it, considering the hard to reconcile culture waf amendments . Mr. Mccarthy i dont see its hard to reconcile. Whats hard to reconcile is that you dont focus on defense. Ive watched the democrats when they were in the majority spend a lot of money in the Defense Department on things that have nothing to do with training our women and men. We have refrained and changed back to a way thats made america strong. Provide the resources that the American Fighting force is the best prepared, the fiercest in the world, so we never have to go to war. I think that is easy to get done. I talked to a few to see if theyre going to do something about it. Weve watched we have a couple we districtings out through all the places. Id like to know where theyre going to go and whether theyre in the process of happening. I know the democrats are trying very hard to redraw new york. I saw what the courts have gotten involved because we watch what had they did in new york was just very onesided. I think people should be very fair in this process, to be able to see whats happening. I like to know whats going to happen out there. Mr. Mccarthy wouldnt you feel frustrated . Wouldnt you feel frustrated . You get a target letter. Lets just put it in perspective. Because none of you have gotten back to the hearing right now with two whistleblowers. In this hearing, let me put some of the points out, if you werent able dofer it able to cover it, if youre just covering the photo shoot. Some of the barisma, thats an Energy Company in ukraine. That had on its board hunter biden who hunter biden admitted he only got the position for political purposes. Did he not say that in an interview . I might not be quoting exactly but thats what he said. The money didnt come directly to him. He sent it to a partner. The partner told him he has to do Something Different for tax purposes. He got his porch paid for. He got a diamond. The i. R. S. Found that was some of the most egregious, if any american had done this, they would have been in trouble. The slow arm of the Justice Department for some reason took six years. Most americans would be very excited by that. Because what happens after six years . The statute of limitation runs out. And if you listen to these i. R. S. Agents, those are the ones that [indiscernible] if you listen to americans who have to pay taxes, if you listen to the president who said he wants to end the tax loopholes, are these the loopholes hes talking about . That his son got away with hundreds of thousands of dollars and isnt going to be prosecuted because the Justice Department treated the biden family one way and now found a new way to go after the political opponent in President Trump . I dont think its just President Trump who would be frustrated. I think americans would be frustrated. Because thats what im hearing. I hear from people who said, you know what, i never voted for President Trump. But im going to vote for him now. Based upon how hes getting treated. Because if they can treat him that way, they can do that to any american and thats what they believe needs to stop. You need equal justice. Reporter do you support the efforts some of your members to defund the office of jack smith . Mr. Mccarthy of jack smith . Look, i havent gotten into that. I just want to make sure that we have some equal justice as we go through. I found it very interesting, who is from cnn, they had breaking news yesterday. You know what the breaking news was, they covered it. Jack smith went to subway. That was breaking news. I would hope cnn would have their cameras on the hearings today and listening to two i. R. S. Agents who are telling you a story, that dont have a political bias, that simply represent the country. And they have found what has happened is so egregious that they would come forward in their own expense to go to the American Public because what they were denied to be able to do their job for one simple reason. The persons last name was biden. And let me ask you and all of america this question. Ive had my own bills. Many americans have their own business. When they have their own business, they produce something. When they produce something, they have a name to that business. They usually just have one. They dont create a Shell Company to be paid. When someone pays them, they pay directly to the business and they get the product they make. Apparently the product that the biden family was selling was influence. While the president was Vice President , 16 of the 17 payments from romania were paid. Hunter biden didnt even pay taxes on his influence. It went from one Shell Company to another down to nine different family members. When the President Biden is running for office, he told the American Public in october that their family got no money from china. He cant say that now. Its proven, based upon these investigations, that they did get money from china. He said he had no dealings with the family business. He went to meetings. It just raises more and more questions. The question i have for all of you, when are you going to ask me a question about it . When are you going to follow what were finding . Do you not find that disturbing . If two i. R. S. Whistleblowers came forward . Do you not find it disturbing that 16 of the 17 payments were paid while he was Vice President . Do you not find it concerning what product they produce, if theyre specializing in Foreign Countries, why are all the countries china, romania, ukraine . Why wouldnt the other Foreign Countries like france or ireland or germany hire him as well . Why would you have to have 20 Shell Companies when your father and brother is Vice President . Why would you allow the department of justice to have the statue of limitations run out statute of limitations run out but be so fast in their indictments of your political opponents .
