We have never in the history of our country been in a situation where an adversary, a foreign power, is working so hard to influence the outcome of the election. Over the weekend, after the 2005 tape was released on friday, there was chatter about whether or not republicans, and some republican senators, did call on donald trump to step down from the candidacy and let governor pence be the head of the ticket. In todays wall street journal, a path to president pence. Hes a constitutional lawyer in d. C. This is what they write, that the republicans can effectively replace mr. Trump at the top of the ticket without having to endure the logical and legal turmoil of formally nominating a new standardbearer less than a month before election day. If mr. Trump were to drop out before the election, the party would have to fill the vacancy through a vote governed by the Republican National can he rules, a process that would be time consuming and tumultuous, and that would distract republicans during the critical home stretch. The constitution offers a different way forward, under the 20th amendment, the newly elected president s term begins at noon on january 20. A president elect trump could recite his oath of office, and then immediately resign, under the 25th amendment, power would fall to his Vice President , mr. Pence. In this way, americans inclined to vote republican but who are unwilling to support mr. It was certainly a night to remember. Host what sticks out in your mind . You know, donald trump had one goal last night. At this late in the game, that was to persuade any remaining undecided voters left. I dont think he was successful in that goal. Instead he was incoherent, and he failed to demonstrate his capability as our leader. He was petty. He debated with the moderator instead of Hillary Clinton, and he spent his time talking to the camera while Hillary Clinton spent her time talking to the audience members. Clinton clinton spoke to the audience, like i said, and she presented her clear and concise policy proposals. Host are you a Hillary Clinton supporter going into last nights debate . Yes. Yes, im a very sympathetic Hillary Clinton supporter. Host do you think, though, that she answered the question about her speeches to wall street effectively enough to convince young people like yourself who were worried about her relationship with wall street, and thats why they were supporting senator sanders during the primary . Well, if you look, nine out of 10 Bernie Sanders supporters are supporting secretary clinton in this president ial rasmse the idea that Hillary Clinton has a millennial problem is a bit of a disnoamer. If you look at the campus, i believe you can see a lot of the support for secretary clinton in the background shots. A little bit of a sore throat. You know, i think this is a little distraction. He ultimately pleaded guilty on unlawful fondling of a minor, receiving a year in jail and four years probation. When we asked about the Trump Campaign about a allegation, the spokesman referred us to a july 15, 2014 article in the conserve tough Washington Free beacon, which uncovered all yo recordings of clinton. Although its not clear when the recordings were made, the beacon says they date from 1983 to 1987. In the tape, she calls it a terrible case and a fascinating case for reasons that will become clear.
