I think ive learned one thing about this president. And that is, hes very cautious. Maybe in this instance, too cautious. Heres an example. The president prefers the word incursion to invasion when it comes to russia sending troops in the ukraine. Democrat senator mendendez has no such reservations about calling russian actions what they really are. This is a water shed moment. Thousands of Russian Troops are here with tanks, missiles, heavy artillery and are directly engaged in what is clearly an invasion. Did you see this . Republican senators john mccain and Lindsey Graham blasting the president s handling of the isis threat so far in an op ad in the new york times. Continuing to confront isis in iraq and not in syria would be Like Fighting with one hand tied behind our back. We need a military plan to defeat isis, whatever it is. Wow. Talk about a water shed moment. Lots of them, greg. Yes. I dont know if its about being cautious. I think its more about priorities. And with president obama, Foreign Policy has never been a priority. Its always been about fixing these internal flaws of our country which is why hes gotten all the problems reversed. He always looks at our country and the globe and thinks the globe is okay but weve got problems. In fact, were probably the only force for good left in a tremendous troubled and chaotic and changing world. He doesnt use forceful language in these conflicts but he uses them with Something Like Global Warming. He doesnt parce any words with global warning but ive said this before. Its like worrying about dandruff when your hair is on fire. Terror will kill you tomorrow. Global warming, whatever it is, is a long way off. The terror that could kill you tomorrow, you could just buy a plane ticket to do it. I think thats been ignored for a long time, for a year as we just reported. The president was briefed a year ago on the threat of isis. Weve seen isis say were coming to america. James foley, they said this is a message to america and then you have the state department specs person saying that isis is not at war with america and Dianne Feinstein gives the president too much credit. Its a lack of leadership and not making decisions that are very important. Its not that hes being cautious. Hes out to lunch. Hes out golfing immediately after he addresses the situation that we havent seen in a long time, with an american journalist losing his life and saw more reports he probably could have done more to save the life of james foley so there are so many things compounding here but the bottom line is that the president has done nothing to make sure that americans feel theyre safe at home from an attack from isis. To be fair, we are bombing which is more than what sure. You have to give him that. Were bombing. Maybe we made that decision the day before because we dont have a plan, a strategy. I was in minnesota last week, friday, covering the somalians being recruited to join the terrorist groups and its very, very scary. There are 100 of them in isis fighting with that organization, that terrorist organization that are from america. They have western passports. Theyre one plane ticket away from coming here to the u. S. We have to do something about it. They have to be confronted. And other countries are embracing this idea, too. They know and obviously, i mean, geographically egypt and jordan and some other countries are closer than we are but they understand that isis is on the move. Physically they are. What are your thoughts . We need a leader of all these countries. We need someone to take a stand and really do something. That gets the ball rolling. Are they waiting for us . I think so, yeah. Weve always been strong before and now were really not. Its just really sad. Its almost like a distracted house cat who is too lazy. Cat and mouse. Exactly what about this, though, katie . Its not just the president. Its congress, too. Where are they for the last six weeks . Theyre on vacation. Among the democrats, there are some who are saying, well, do you know what . Maybe we need to get back to washington. Even republicans. But theyre not, though. Sure. I think thats a fair point but you have to remember that before Congress Went on recess, they talked about getting more sanctions pushed through. They were addressing this issue. You have senator john mccain and Lindsey Graham writing this op ad and say theyve been beating the drums for a long time on this. Dianne feinstein has been concerned about this. On sunday she said that isis is a major varsity team. When president obama was saying they were a j. V. Team, he was being briefed what a threat they were and i think this is important, too. Twice as many british muslims are fighting in isis as they are fighting in the british military. So this is a very global issue for the one terrorist army and i dont think the United States is taking it as seriously as they should be considering that we havent yes, weve bombed a little bit. But if you take a look at the details of the bombing, weve taken out a couple of trucks, havent done enough damage in terms of getting pushed back. We allowed them to take back a city that had been under siege for two months. That was mostly thanks to armed citizen helping the iraqi forces. Thats the plan, though. The plan has been to assist if we can and to put special forces on the ground. Caution doesnt matter if at the end game is eradication. If he is allowing these things to happen, and we should actually expect more from arab countries. We should. We shouldnt be doing this all on our own. Ultimately we may have to. We may have to bomb them back to the stone age which is apparently where they want to be. Isis prefers the seventh century but we also have to realize there are a lot of people complaining right now that we should be doing something if you look at the arab nations. Theyre the ones that are complaining. Where dont you go after them . And ultimately that would be the best thing. To domesticate the extremism on your own side, it has to come from you. Two things. One, we know that we did, a u. S. Drone has taken out who they believe the leader, the guy that led the group in the kenyan mall massacre last september so that was announced just today and then just to kind of further your point, in their op ad, mccain and graham said, look. We have a list of things and part of the strategy was to call on the sunniled government and do that by backing up the new government in iraq to show that, you know, they could tip a hat to sunnis and shia, too. Obama administration is taking heat over what this looks like. By this, i mean, well, take a look. What is he thinking or doing . The same day he was doing this, iraq forces reportedly fought to liberate several sunni villages from isis grip. Sunnis were some who were going to stand beside and bring them into the conversation if were going to go guard, according to senators graham and mccain. Congress has come under similar criticism now. John larson said the democrats from connecticut called out his leagues on the hill by saying, congress has been off for more than six weeks. Some have said, and i cant disagree with them, that were awol. We ought to be back there, end quote. You know, youve heard the saying dress for the job you want, not the one you have. Clearly our president , secretary of state, Vice President are dressing in bicycle outfits, is that the job they want . It appears to be that way. Thats the message theyre sending their constituents. As far as congress is concerned, vaca is over. Get it together. Everyone in the executive branch and the congressional branch, they need to be in washington. They need to get a job done. Our country is facing a lot of crisis right now. You want kerry to wear a three piece suit while kite boarding . And maybe a tie. Is it not fair to everybody deserves their personal time. I think the most important thing here to stress is that the yits has a very clear American Interest when it comes to the march of isis. This isnt just about the other arab countries and iraq falling apt. This is about american passports being used, western passports being used. A report today shows that the state department has just lost track of 6,000 student visas. They dont know where 6,000 students are. 9 11 hijackers were here purposely on expired student visas. Theres a very important American Interest here, to keep america safe. Threat is real. To your point, it is labor day. He needs to get to work. Say that to james foleys parents. True. It is important to point out that the priorities are screwed up but when you start using these cheap jokes about what people wear, that hurts your argument. You have to stick to the Serious Problems there. This is a bad president who is failing in leading the country but the more you focus on his golf or you focus on what somebody is wearing on the beach, it actually belittles your argument. Essentially youre losing your millions of dollars or your oscar, maybe this could help with future movie roles. I think they should sue. I definitely do. Its an invasion of privacy, its awful. Now its no longer a matter of will this come out . Its when will this come out . Thats because technology today, these hackers can get in there and find it. You need to own it. I think its great that Jennifer Lawrence and kate yup ton are doing that. Did you look at the pictures . What do you think . For this particular program, i spent hours investigating. I have to disagree with my wonderful partner here. This was not their choice so they have to put the offender away. Thats for sure. Put him away for a long time because it wasnt their choice. I dont think this is about nude photos and i wish that we could get above that conversation. Thats not what i asked. Im not going to go to ask anybody on the couch what is on the icloud but would you want someone hacking into your icloud to hack your emails or look at pictures of your kids . Let me finish. This is no different than someone hacking into your Bank Account Online which icloud says, they say they have the same level of security employed at most Financial Institutions on the cloud and the issue is this is a crime. Doesnt matter what the content is. It was stolen. And these people were violated. If you take a look why the f. B. I. Is investigating the last guy who did this, the one that hacked into scarlett johansson, nine counts of computer hacking, eight counts of aggravated identity theft, he faced 121 years in prison and hes going away for 10 years in federal prison as he should. So this is a crime. I dont think that we should treat it as anything less. Here is the thing. These pictures were taken for their boyfriends, for their girlfriends, for whatever. For themselves. It wasnt meant to be shared with the public. Do you think this is a violation . I think you ask a fair question. I laughed, too, but no matter what i have on the cloud, on my computer, im assuming that its private. Im not going to comment what it might be but can you imagine having to explain to your children . Its funny for us to talk about it. I dont think its funny at all. Taking stuff out of context on your computer there are a couple of things that i read you can do to help. Put the router near the center of your home, not near a window. Its easier to grab the information if it can be seen and accessed through glass. I never let anybody see my router. Right. And that wep encryption that comes with all of our apple devices, at least used to, it outdated and easily cracked. You want to update that and always accept the Software Updates on your iphone. I just feel like we need to give people some solutions. I need to update more. We all put stuff on our devices that we all wish we didnt have to explain. Its human nature. Instead of campaigning for democrats, hes spending most of thinks time fundraising and now there are reports hes considering putting up any executive action to rejafrp immigration until after the midterms to protect vulnerable democrats. We talked a lot about objects in the first half of the show. Dont you think that president obama fundraising all the time when he maybe should be focused on more serious issues will also hurt democrats . I would think so and they have to you know, democrats are really at risk here. Theyre going to control half of congress in two months or after this Midterm Election or theyre going to control none of congress so they really i think theyre really pulling back and not putting him out there as much. They dont want to be associated with him. Look at the congressman from colorado. He was supposed to campaign with him or have president Obama Joining him at some events. Well, congressman decided to stay in washington, cancel the event because he didnt want to be associated with the president. A gallop poll came out that said 42 of people are paying attention to midterms. 33 of those are republicans. Just 27 of those are democrats. At this point its going to take a big event to pull it off. Do you think the president can do anything but fundraise at this point . Yes. The great thing about liberalism is that in order to win, you have to hide your liberalism. So all of the major issues that they are championing suddenly disappear. I have a list of them. Theyre not going to talk about Global Warming because the public doesnt buy their panic. Theyll stay way from the keystone pipeline. They cant do Foreign Policy because theyre perceived as weak. They cannot bring the hatred of coal up because there are states that rebel. You cant bring up immigration because youre considered weak and you cant bring up obamacare. So every single thing you believe in as a liberal would destroy you in the election. What you have to do is pull a bait and switch. You pretend to be a republican. When you get in, you become a democrat. And obama has been telling his base, his open borders base that he was going to do something on his own. But we see him with an influx of illegal children on the border that Public Opinion has changed on that and they dont like how hes handled that so its interesting to see him brushing away his base on that issue. Yeah. Want border issue is tough in general but also just the whole idea of executive action for this president is a sticky wick et for him. Its not how many times hes used it. Its which issues. You dont want to change the conversation back to the president acting too often, either. Its a sticky position. It is. I agree with that. Moving on, the sentencing of a female teacher for having sex with her students raises serious questions about double standards in cases like this. Meredith powell was busted earlier this year for having sexual contact with at less two male students between the ages of 14 and 16 and sexting with another student with racy photos. Now parents of the victims are furious, that the judge sentenced her to just six months in prison after finding her remorseful. Words cant even express how sorry i am. I feel like the word sorry is not even enough. I wish more than anything that i could take back what happened to the students that i failed. I didnt just let the school down but my family, friends and people who believed in me and trusted me. I see you shaking your head. You think that was a great performance or is she really remorseful . Is she a theater teacher . Drama teacher . Come on. I would have liked to have seen a few more tears. Exactly. What in the world . If you were a parent, youre the mother of two little girls. I hate to even go there and even put the thoughts in your mind but could you imagine . I would want this perpetrator completely behind bars if these going to a prison where a lot of people are like her behind bars. Eye for eye. I raped your children and im sorry. Okay. We believe you. Heres six months out of the five years. She also claims she was molested as a child. These cases always illustrate the differences between how we view sex in the sense that a male teacher would be punished more severely than a female teacher and thats because rightly or wrongly, we see female students as victims and then male students as victors. At that age, thats what they are interested in is fighting sex. They dont think with this brain. So rightly or wrongly, thats why people see this differently. Just the way it is. Also these young herself. Shes 25. Do you think that her age might have something to do with the ruling . I dont care about her age. She is an adult. They are children. I dont care if theyre boys as shes a woman. I think that having a double standard between men and women when it comes to sexual abuse only perpetuates more sexual abuse and i think she should go to jail as long as everybody else in her position went to jail. We had the one teacher in school that was a little creepy . Yeah. She was pretty and flirted a little too much and nobody really wanted to take her class because they were scared of her. I thought, whats going on here . Thats that teacher. But i think its interesting that the judge who said that he felt this was out of character for her. How would he know . Isnt it out of character for every teach sner its out of character to break the law. To say its out of character, you shouldnt break the law. Out of character doesnt mean its justified. She sent Text Messages apologizing to the girlfriends of the boys that she was fooling around with. You know what they call a mistake you do over and over. A decision. If we dont hold people accountable for the things they confess they do, where is the justice in that . Like she said, sure, youre sorry for the things you did but that doesnt mean theres severe consequences. In this case, the consequences around that severe. Hopefully the family can forgive, they never forget and she doesnt need to be in a School System again. After just announcing tougher rules on Domestic Violence, nfl gets the first test case after ray mcdonald is arrested over the weekend and also, comedienne joan rivers being slowly brought out of coma. Her family is looking at the procedure that might have left the star permanently brain damaged. The nfl might have its first test case for implementing its new Domestic Violence policy already. 49ers star ray mcdonald was arrested on felony Domestic Violence charges on sunday. Just last week the nfl announced tougher penalties for such incidents, including lifetime bans for repeat offenders but the defensive end is now defending himself. The truth will come out, you know. I cant say too much right now but the truth will come out. Everybody knows what kind of person i am. What kind of person are you . Just a you know, im a good hearted person. Unfortunately, we have to have hes a good hearted person, he says, charmed with Domestic Violence. Unfortunately there has to be a policy for this. We shouldnt even have Domestic Violence. Now theres a policy because some of these players are getting in trouble. What do you make of this . On the show ive been critical of the nfl because for decades theyve had a very serious problem with Domestic Violence. Its an epidemic in the nfl. Were constantly hearing about these stories and granted, innocent until Proven Guilty but here we are again with another case of an nfl star beating his either wife or girlfriend and now finally, after 30 years of this happening, because of public pressure, the nfl has an official Domestic Violence policy and here it is. You get your first offense, you get a first beat your wife or girlfriend offense which is six games. Then if you do it again, its a lifetime ban. Why is this not a zero tolerance policy . You hit your wife or girlfriend and the law plays out and youre guilty. Youre done. This idea were now continuing to tolerate this is appalling to me. Are you surprised its just now tougher . You have ray rice that was suspended for two games for the same offense. Right. You know roger goodell, nfl commissioner, apologized for the previous policy and now trying to get tough on this. I dont know that im surprised that its taken this long but i am surprised that now its kind of in slow motion. I think i might side with katie. Why have a layering or level . If theyre found guilty and innocent until Proven Guilty but if theyre found guilty, why is there a layering . Slap of the hand the first time. Its a business for them. This is a multi billion dollar business and the owners of the teams cant afford to lose the star players. It could mean winning the super bowl or not winning the super bowl. I think they realize they made a mistake with the ray rice situation. Theyve apologized which the nfl never does. Now i think theyre doing the new sort of punish manies and need to make an example of someone so i think were going to see them coming down harsher on the players and thats what has to happen. I agree, though. I dont think it should be a tiered sort of punishment because smoking pot, thats, i believe, a year of no playing. How does that really equate . Doesnt make sense. Does that make sense . A year of smoking pot or performance enhancing drugs, its a year off. Priorities are skewed. When you think about it, even with the suspension of six games or what not, thats way better than other felons who dont play football get. A felon is a felon. We have to always say this. Innocent until Proven Guilty. These guys are role models. Theyre not necessarily trained to do that. Theyre trained to fight on the field. Ray has a charity, hes done good things before. If the nfl is going to be tasked with getting tough other Domestic Violence, everybody should be. These Court Systems are going to have to Court Systems. Theres only one. The courts will have to step up and get tougher and not have a levelling system. You cant just pin it on the nfl or the nba or whomever it is. Greg, im going to stop talking. They are brought up in an environment where they pretty much can do whatever they want. And its not an excuse for what they do. Its just thats a reality. I cant answer that so i dont know. But im wondering if because of the lifestyle in which youre given things, does it allow you to take liberties that normally other people wouldnt . Yesterday wednesday a miami to paris flight had to be diverted after a passenger wanted to recline and the week before that the knee defender was used to keep the seat in front of him from going back, the woman trying to recline reportedly threw water in his face. Disgusting. I want to get out of this whole recline, dont recline thing to the main problem here. Im going to go to you first. Why do we keep diverting flights over baby snz these people get in fights and were diverting and diverting and diverting. The people who divert should go to jail. Agreed. Thank you. I dont want my flight messed up because of all these awful people. I was recently a victim of the recline. I was on a bus. And that seat was about eight inches from my face.
