Some people are naturally happy but the thing is that for anyone who isnt naturally happy, there are things that can make you happy. Very simple things. Did you go looking for happiness . I was happy but i wanted to find out how to be even happier. What did you learn . First thing is just smiling, like if you feel like, im in a mood, just making yourself smile, even if you ive got something to help with that. Those lip things. Even if you dont feel happy, thats easy. You talked about how like things like children and family, those things youd innately think make you happy, dont. Thats a really great point. People often think, being married will make me happier. Depends on who you marry. Thats because you are a woman. For men it doesnt matter. For men, marriage makes them happy, no matter who it is. Even a house like a shrew . Well, having a wife is a pretty good deal. Having a wife helps a lot. For women, it matters who you marry. Matters who you marry a lot. People with children, not happier than people without children. And one of the challenges is that lots of stuff about children is effort. Its work. Its changing diapers, doing laundry, doing the dishes. Its not innately joyful. Lets talk about the things. I didnt believe this at first. I dont agree with this at all. I really dont. Shopping, eating, exercise and sex. All things, to me, that seem fleeting. Like you do it and as soon as you are done, happiness goes away. Temporary fixes. Right. So those are things, shopping doesnt even have to be for you. For someone else. Have you ever had the experience of buying a fabulous gift for someone that you knew was going to make them so happy . Yeah. I love that. But thats helping someone. Exactly. And thats helping someone. Volunteering. Yeah. Volunteering makes people happy. I think thats what you are discussing something a little different which is fulfillment. Yeah. Seeing what you can do to impact another human beings life is a wonderful thing. Theres different kinds of happiness. One is a kinld of kind of happy from accomplishment, doing really good things. It is time for todays kitchen simple dinners and simple meals to ease you back into the kitchen. Here to help us get over the grill and back home on the range, is the founder of the 6 00 scramble. Viva goldfarb. What are you cooking up . Salmon. The hardest thing for busy parents is figuring out what to make for dinner at the end of the long day. When the kids are starving. So they make mcdonalds. Were trying to avoid that today. So i call that the 6 00 scramble. My suggestion is that they take a few minutes on the weekend to plan ahead and shop for a couple simple meals like the ones im going to show you today. So were making a threeingredient dijon soy salmon. This is a great thing to do with your kids or with your cohost. Have you guys paint on some of this mustard right on top of the salmon. You dont have to go too thin. Gives it a lot of flavor. Like it crusty. Exactly. Here we go. Slap it on there. And i like this grainy dijon mustard. And, but you can use any kind of dijon mustard. Hoda. Its not easy. You can just do one if you want. Okay. Then what do you do . Then you just sprinkle on a little soy sauce. Sprinkle, sprinkle. And if youd like a sweeter flavor you can always use teriyaki sauce instead. Three ingredients, how easy is that . Takes no time. About 10 to 12 minutes under the broiler and you are done. This is my green machine quesadillas. Always trying to get more greens into our families bodies. I could have you each make one of these. A layer, on one side, a layer of avocado and the great thing about quesadillas, i love them like this, but you can customize them to your familys taste. And then a handful of spinach right on top. I fixed yours. You are like me. A control freak. And then a little cilantro. And then a little cheese. And a little bit of a spoonful of this green salsa.
