Heavy thunderstorms now making their way through the southeast. This storm system will start getting itself together pushing up through the southeast later this afternoo heavy rain spreading up to the northeast later today by 1 00 to 2 00 this afternoon. Overnight tonight you can see the colder air wrapping in so were looking at snow. Wind gusts of over 50 Miles Per Hour. And wednesday it all lifts up. The storm winds will continue along with the snow and the lake effect. Were talking about generally anywhere from 4 to 6 inches of rain from atlanta up into the midatlantic coast. Youre going to be driving from the west to the east coast, look at this along i90 along i81 into i80 were talking about anywhere from 3 inches up to a foot of snow. Its going to make for a real miserable drive. Were going to be talking about the wind which is are going to be ferocious and may have an impact on the thanksgiving day parade. Also watching all of this, the American Airlines dispatch center in dallas. About 1,000 cancellations in total at dfw and that dispatch center watches all weather across the country. They have a very close eye on all of this. It is rain. In some areas it will be sleet. It will be high winds and then the potential for some snow in some remote areas over the next 48 hours or so and of course atlanta being the joke point for the entire country being the biggest airport. In the meantime, nearly a year after the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in connecticut we have the most comprehensive report yet on that shooting. Good morning. Good morning, matt. The report by the Connecticut Department of criminal justice gives a moment by moment account of the shooting and a detailed look at the troubled look at the life of gunman adam lanza. The only question it doesnt answer is why. Reporter the report gives the best insight to the 20yearold man that perpetrated the worst School Shooting in history. It confirms adam lanza acted alone. The entire event ended with the gunmans suicide. Lanza blasted his way into the school with his rifle, a walking arsenal he carried two pistols and fired 154 the more than 300 rounds of ammunition he carried. Inside his home, investigators found his first victim, his mother nancy, shot in her bed with a rifle t. Report states lanza had Significant Mental Health issues that effected his ability to live a normal life and interact with others. He didnt leave his home three months prior to the shooting. Garbage bags were taped over the window and his computer shows a reoccupation with mass murders including School Shootings. He refused to take his medication and therapy but no one saw violent tendencies. He was eventually home schooled. Lanzas mother was concerned about him. He would only communicate by email though they were living in the same house. Though nancy lanza was planning to buy her son a new pistol for christmas even though he disliked christmas and refused to put up a tree. His daughter was one of six adults killed along with 20 children. He read most of the report but chooses to remember laurens bravery rather than learn any more about her killer. Im proud of my daughter that she stood there in front of 15 little kids and took the bullets. That is amazing. Im very proud of her. The full report that will be released later is several thousand pages long but he said he wont be looking for it. He wants to move ahead remembering, instead, all the good things about his daughters life. All right. Thanks. But karzi put new conditions. He said he wont sign the deal, at least not yet. He wants washington to help broker a deal with the taliban and said he wont sign it if a single american soldier enters another afghan home. Reporter the attorney general announced four new indictments following an inquiry of a cover up of the rape of a 16yearold. Were trying to hold adults accountable. Thats what this is about. Reporter the School SuperintendentMichael Mcvey faces the most serious charges. Felony counts of obstructing justice and tampering with evidence. The High School Coach stands charged with failing to report child abuse. Former volunteer assistant coach is charged with allowing underage drinking. And the principal is charged with failing to report child abuse but thats from an earlier accusation of rape of a 14yearold which came to light after the high profile accusations. This began with a rape of a 16yearold girl. A horrible crime of violence. But it also represents blurred, stretched and distorted boundaries of right and wrong. Reporter in march, two 17yearold star High School Football players were convicted of the rape. Protestors said officials were trying to protect the citys beloved High School Football team known as big red. Late monday the stuebenville cool board put them on paid administrative leave. Efforts to reach all three indicted in connection with the case were unsuccessful. At his news conference, he had a stern message for parents and educators. Its up to the adults to set boundaries.
