The second is that a lot of this is for quality, not safety. So when you see something that says sell by date, that means the last day a supermarket or any retailer can sell something legally. They have to take it off the shelf. Thats to rotate their stock. The other more confusing is use by. Most oftentimes this is for quality, not safety, but there are some limits. You cant keep stuff in your fridge and freezer forever. If there is glunk at the bottom of your milk, youll get sick. Right. Hoda. There are some limits. Thats what part of our game is today. Is it going to be keep or toss. Lets play keep or toss. So now we have some eggs. This says use by today. Today, use by today. Would you keep keep it definitely. I would keep it. Youre right. You keep this because it just means it will be fine for at least two or three weeks at proper temperature. But dont leave the eggs in that little egg container, that cute thing on the side, put it in the middle of the fridge they need to remain cold. A lot of the regulations are all due to proper temps for your refrigerator. Next, deli turkey. That starts to get gel on it. Purchased six days ago. Definitely keep. I say toss. Ive eaten six day old turkey slices. Put it here. Theyre in the toss. They get a gel on them. They do. This is good for the sell by date. You have to ask the deli guy when did they open the big loaf because when they cut it, you get more days. All right. My head hurts. Toss it. What else . Yogurt. This says sell by today. Sell by. Sell by today. Thats a keep. No. Toss anything milky. No, no. You can keep this. Actually for about seven to ten days because it just it says, for optimal taste and freshness. That will be fine. Yogurt, i dont know. Condiments, ketchup. This says this label says best if used by two months ago. No, keep that forever. Keep. That is absolutely right. You can have this for six months or more. In the refrigerator, if it is in your pantry, just the month. It will go bad. Typical leftovers, chinese food or pizza. Eaten four days ago. I toss it. Even i would toss it. You know what you dont have to . You dont have to, but this is the last day, sort of three to four days, but use your judgment. It has got to have been in the fridge, cant be running around if it smells, toss it. Thats amazing. If i bought chinese food on monday, i could eat it again on thursday . Up to four days. Depends where you bought it from. Thats the outside limit so you can keep this. Wow. Im going to put that on the line. I think thats fair. Thats the last day of use. I know too much. Lets look at ill use the bagged lettuce. Best by yesterday. Thats okay. Thats a keep. And how long can you keep it . Two days. No, longer. You can keep it longer if you dont mind having little gnarly pieces or things may be a little wilted. Quality, not about safety. I used to work in a restaurant and they would take big vats of lettuce that was brown on the edges and throw it into a vat of water with some kind of chemical and it eats away the brown stuff. And then you served it. Thats what we did. Where was this restaurant . I cant tell. Thats what we did. That was my job. These are quality issues, not safety issues. Youre not going to get poi poisoned, it just looks really gross. Now we have ground beef. This is sell by four days ago. I dont trust anything. I say toss. Another good zoo you like, toledo is number two. Toledo is number two zoo. Thats where the hidden gems rose to the surface in these awards and toledo has 74 acres of exhibits and a lot of great new exhibits in the last two years as well. They have a great polar bear exhibit, a new elephant exhibit as well. Oh, look at that. Lets go to museums. Those are sometimes tough to get kids into, but you found some good ones. We have really fun exhibits museums that rose to the top. The number two exhibit, the museum, was the museum of science and industry in chicago. This is the Biggest Museum in the western hemisphere. This is a super fun one. It is the biggest Science Museum in the western hemisphere. You can explore trains, go through a 727, an entire submarine. You can see a four story tall simulated tornado. It is all interactive. So interactive. Lots of science. There as also one in rochester you liked. This is the number one museum. And this is another really hidden gem that rose to the surface in our family fun awards. This is the straw museum in rochester. And this museum entirely devoted to play. It has the National Museum of play sesame street. Toy hall of fame. You can dress a giant mr. Potato head. You can play oversized games like connect four. You can see comic book heroes and some favorite toy characters there. Really fun. You say visiting historic sites, those sometimes make for fun vacations for kids. The number one site is mt. Rushmore in south dakota. So fascinating. I loved it. There is crazy horse nearby too right now. So and our family said you just cant understand how awe inspiring this site is. It is unbelievable. Unless youve been there. Beautiful. And now National Parks, your last category. The one of the Favorite National Parks was sleeping bear lake shore in michigan, and as the name implies, there are miles and miles of beautiful beaches here. And then the dunes you can climb on them. Some are as tall as 300 feet. Kids just love to climb up those, run back down them. And, remember, one National Park is great Smoky Mountain park.
