Well show you the rescue, as it was videoed. Well show you today. August 5, 2014. From nbc news this is today with matt lauer and Savannah Guthrie live from studio 1a in rockefeller plaza. Good morning, everyone. Welcome to today its its 7 00 a. M. On the west coast. Tuesday morning. A tragic story to tell you about out of afghanistan. Another deadly insider attack at a base just west of kabul. Lets get to the pentagon and jim miklaszewski. Reporter at least one highranking American Military official was killed in in attack, sudden attack at this Training Base for Afghan Soldiers in kabul. According to official, the americans along with german allies had gathers with afghans at this base for some kind of event or meeting when suddenly, one of the Afghan Soldiers, at least somebody dressed like an afghan soldier opened fire with an automatic weapon. As many as 12 were seriously wounded. Right now, the death toll stands at one senior highranking military official killed. According to officials were talking about here at the pentagon, some of the wounds are so severe that that death toll is likely to rise. I have to ask you. There was a time we were talking about the insider attacks all the time. It seemed like it was a downward trend. This is a disturbing tre ining different direction. Reporter there were steps taken to put the americans in a safer position when working side by side with armed Afghan Soldiers. And that did lower the death toll some what. But, you know, working side by side with armed Afghan Military right now is absolutely critical to the u. S. Strategy. In fact, it is the strategy Going Forward to work with armed Afghan Military to train them and advise them and there is no way that according to military official, that you can guard against this kind of attack at all times an unfortunate incident. According to a senior official here this one is really bad. Jim miklaszewski, thank you. Breaking news on the ebola crisis as well. The specially equipped plane bringing back the volunteer just refueled in bangor, maine, its now on the way to atlanta. Kate snow is standing by at Emory University hospital. Reporter the big question is, will nancy reibold walk into the facility behind me . We expect an ambulance motorcade. Were learning this morning more about the experimental drug treatment that nancy and kent brantly, who is being treated here, have had that may have saved their lives. This morning, nancy will arrive at emory hospital in the fight for her life. The 59yearold American Mother contracted ebola. She has been taking an experimental medication. Her appetite has slightly come back. As a matter of fact, i talked to her husband. She asked for her favorite liberian meal. Reporter the virus was ravaging her body. So three doses of an experimental medicine were flown to liberia and the two americans decided to try the treatment that had previously been used on monkeys. Brantly told colleagues he was dying. His wife asked friends to drop everything and pray. After his first dose of medicine, he made a remarkable improvement. What sit thats working . When you and i are infected with any virus, we make antibodies for the virus. That kills it. These are special aent bodies just for ebola. Reporter once at emory, theyll each have a room in a special isolation unit. Lab tests are done inside. Any contaminated materials are cleaned of virus and incinerated. While there are no other confirmed cases in the u. S. Right now, hospitals are on edge. On monday, a man with a fever was put in isolation at new yorks mount sinai hospital. This morning, we expect nancys son, jeremy, to be here to greet her. He says the first thing hes going to say to her is i love you, followed by encouragement for her. We know god is good, we trust him, he said. Nice to have her back in the country. Thank you. Earlier this morning, we talked to president Obamas National Security adviser. I began by asking if u. S. Officials are confident that this can be contained to africa. We are actively collaborating with our african partners in west africa to help them contain and address this challenge. We have surged up to 50 workers from the centers for Disease Control and our Disaster Response teams. We are actively helping them to detect and contain and manage the outbreak. The risk to americans is deemed by the centers for Disease Control to be very low. And that is because of the nature of the transmission and the fact that it is largely contained now in the west african region. This is not a disease that can be communicated by sneezing or airborne or food or water. It requires a degree of intimate contact. And it requires a person to be actively symptomatic. To be contagious. And we have the protocols in this country to manage any isolate any patient who may present with those symptoms of the disease. I want to move on to the after Leaders Summit for which you are appears today. But lets turn to the news of the day. We just learned that israel and gaza have agreed to a temporary truce, this ceasefire. But then again weve seen them collapse within minutes or hours in the last couple of weeks. How confident are you that this time its different and the ceasefire will hold . Well, we think its very important that it holds because theres been a great deal of suffering in israel and in gaza. And our hearts go out to the people of israel who suffered rocket attacks and tunnel attacks and of course the horrific suffering in gaza. So we are hopeful but mindful of the record that these ceasefires havent held for very long in the past. We think its very important both sides remain committed to it. And more importantly that they use this opportunity of the 72hour ceasefire to begin the negotiations that we have been working so energetically through secretary kerry, president obama, and others to get off the ground so that the underlying causes of the conflict in gaza can be addressed at the negotiating table. I mentioned this african Leaders Summit. All of these leaders coming to washington in an unprecedented way. Part of this is to encourage Business Leaders in the u. S. To invest there in africa. But then we hear about the ebola virus. Does that make it harder to sell of course its just confine topd one region, but does it make it harder to sell the u. S. Businesses that africa is ready for their investment . Well, what makes this is a unique occasion is that first of all to start, weve never had a gathering of up to 50 african heads of state with the american president in history. And we are bringing together Business Leaders and society leaders, faith leaders all who understand the importance and potential of africa. Todays event is truly unique because we have some of americas leading ceos, some of africas leading ceos, all of whom understand, as do many of our competitors overseas, that africa presents an extraordinary opportunity for trade and investment. And as weve seen instances of disease and obviously corruption remains a challenge, but what is changing is that African People and african businesses and african governments are poised to grow and to thrive. Six of the ten Fastest Growing countries in the world are in africa. And american Business Leaders recognize that potential. African Business Leaders are eager to partner with their american counterparts and this poses an unprecedented opportunity to take that collaboration to a new level. Speaking of pizza, when i told my husband megan fox was on today, he dropped his fork. I guess hes a fan. We begin with the recently fired director of the Ohio State University marching band. Hell talk to us live if a moment. First, the investigation that the school says exposed sexually explicit and hazing rituals within the band. Heres kevin tibbles. Reporter from superman soaring to trexs chomping. The ohio state marching bands fantastic formations earned it the nickname the best damn band in the land. But now, band director jonathan waters is out of a job, following the universitys twomonth investigation into the bands culture. In a statement late monday, an osu spokesman said the investigation revealed an environment conducive to Sexual Harassment. That waters was aware or reasonably should have known about this culture and failed to eliminate it. Its pretty damning stuff. Reporter among the findings . Written xrated quizzes for new band members with questions like how many people have you had sex with. Xrated trips for band members. And sexually explicit nicknames. Printed in direct ris and printed on tshirts. Waters played with the band in the 90s and in 2012 became the schools youngest band director. His Attorney Says waters started antiSexual Harassment and alcohol programs long before the university started its investigation. Jon experienced Inappropriate Conduct when he was a rookie in the tuba section. As marching band director, he set out on his own to eradicate inappropriate behavior. Reporter as waters fights to clear his name, the band promises to march and play on. And jonathan waters is with us now. Good morning. Good to see you. Good morning. Let me ask the basic question. Do you feel scapegoated here, that youre being blamed for what amounts to apparently decades of a tradition, a culture within the band . Indeed, this is an entrenched culture that dates back to the 1930s. You know, we have taken steps to eliminate activities in the band. And what is so shocking by this report is its inaccuracy and its onesided nature. And so thats really what were here to do today is to get the message out. That this report was onesided. And im here to stand up for our students. Lets talk about the report. It lays out inappropriate practices, sexually explicit names for band members. Cant repeat them here. New band members ordered to simulate sex acts. Newcomers to run down the bus aisles while upper classmen try to tear off their clothes. And questions about fell bandmates. Very, very sexual. Were you aware of those practices . I was aware and i took great steps to eliminate them. We have eliminated all of those things. Weve eliminated the midnight ramp. We have eliminated these rookie quizzes. Let me be very clear that harassment of any type is not tolerated and should not be tolerated. And we have, as a staff, and as Leadership Team, taken steps to eliminate those behaviors. You know what the school says, though, that a lot of these changes like getting rid of the midnight ramp where they run out in their underwear. Or sometimes naked and perform a ritual on the field. They say you didnt change that until after this investigation started. If you didnt like this culture which you say dates back decades, why didnt you end it on your first day . The culture in our band is entrenched. And because its entrenched, it doesnt turn on a dime. So on my first day i did, indeed, engage with our leadership and our Leadership Team in trying to shape that culture and trying to eliminate poor behaviors. We have instituted a Wonderful Program of leadership training for our student leaders as well as sex abuse training and alcohol abuse training. All of these trainings that we have instituted in our band have made it truly a better place since ive been the director. Let me just press you on that. Youre saying, it doesnt changeover night. It changes over time. You wanted change to come from within. Why . Youre the band director. I mean, this is nonsense, some of this. Why dont you go in and say its over. I have. I have, indeed. In fact, this report cites things that happened before my leadership of the band. You were assistant band director for ten years though. I was. And i did move to change those behaviors. But i couldnt effect total policy at that time. When i was director i assure you that we moved very quickly to take steps to complete these things. And im just very disappointed that we didnt get a chance to finish that job. You know, all of our wonderful students, the message that i want to bring is the wonderful students whove marched in that band, the students who have sacrificed and given to the university, the alums who have given of their time, and the fans, they know that that report is flawed. They understand because as they read this report, they say this is not the band we know. I should mention you have a lot of support in this town. People have signed petitions. A lot of the former band members and current band members say they were not talked to for this report. They support you. What is your next step . Will you sue the university to get your job back . You said this was your dream job. This was my dream job. I love ohio state. I love those students. Im here to set the record straight. Im here to point out the fact that we have taken tremendous steps to improve the culture and move the band forward. Let me just put it in terms of this. You see the great performances on the field. You see the wonderful things that the band has done. And that does not happen without an atmosphere of respect, camaraderie, discipline. All of those wonderful things that we see on the field were also happening in the hearts and souls of our band members. And that was done as a group effort. Got to let you go, but to clear it up, will you try to get your job back . You know, i love ohio state and i would love an opportunity to work with the university to improve the culture. Jonathan waters, thank you for your time. Appreciate it. Thank you. Send it over to al for the weather. Thank you so much. Lets see what weve got for you as we look at the week ahead. Above normal temperatures here in the east. Wet weather in new england to the southwest. Below normal temperatures along the west coast. Then for a midweek period, above normal for the Central Plains into the southeast. It stays cool also along the great lakes. And above normal temperatures in the southeast. Going to be wet down into florida. And the below normal temperatures continue out west. The reason why were seeing below average temperatures, cloud cover and yes rare august rain falling in parts of the bay area. Most of this morning around the trivalley and up tards contra costa county. Heading into livermore, light showers there around danville, slowly heading off towards the south and east. One, in a Clinical Trial eliquis was proven to reduce the risk of stroke better than warfarin. Two, eliquis had less major bleeding than warfarin. And three, unlike warfarin theres no routine blood testing. [ male announcer ] dont stop taking eliquis unless your doctor tells you to, as stopping increases your risk of having a stroke. Eliquis can cause serious, and in rare cases, fatal bleeding. Dont take eliquis if you have an artificial heart valve or abnormal bleeding. While taking eliquis you may bruise more easily and it may take longer than usual for any bleeding to stop. Seek immediate medical care for sudden signs of bleeding like unusual bruising. Eliquis may increase your bleeding risk if you take certain medicines. Tell your doctor about all planned medical or dental procedures. Reporter a drone literally crashed a wedding when a photographer flying a drone lost control leading to a painful bump and a minor cut to the groom. Yet despite the risks, wedding photographers say increasingly theyre hearing requests for drones. But veteran photographer carl bies says the weddings he shoots is about respect and not turning it into a flying circus. The biggest compliment is they dont remember me photographing their wedding. I think having a drone there would leave a mark on people remembering that one sound of the drone buzzing above. Reporter the faa reports increasingly that theyre hearing from commercial passenger pilots about drones that are in or near their flight path, and that is a safety concern. How is it were able to fly a drone here this morning . Its because were indoors. And this air space here is not controlled by the faa. This is all legal. Eat fresh. Heres Savannah Guthrie. Good morning. We have breaking news this morning from afghanistan. A deadly attack at a military base by a gunman wearing a military uniform. Among the victims a two star army general. Two others have been wounded. We want to go to the pentagon with mick for the latest. U. S. Dod and u. S. Military officials confirm a two star u. S. Major general was killed in that assault today in kabul. According to the officials, they are not going to release the identity of that Major General until sometime tomorrow officially. In addition, there were two others killed. Theyre believed to be perhaps afghan or even german officers that were there. The shooting occurred at the Afghan National military defense academy. A Training Facility where the americans, other forces and afghan leadership had gathered to talk about the training regimen for the Afghan Military when suddenly one individual, believed to be an afghan soldier, sprayed the crowd with an automatic weapon killing the two star general and wounding at least 15 other americans. U. S. Officials caution that the overall death toll could rise because of the severity of the injuries. By the way, in return fire, that gunman was also killed. No motive for that attack a. Those kind of green and blue incidents where afghans attack their u. S. Military trainers have really subsided in the past several years. But according to u. S. Military officials, you can never protect those troops when theyre side by side with armed Afghan Military 100 of the time. According to one senior d. O. D. Official in remarks about this incident told us this savannah is a bad one. Standing by at the pentagon, i want to return to retired colonel jack jacobs on the phone. To pick up what mick talked about, there was a time in 2012 where Afghan Soldiers would turn on the Coalition Forces trying to train them. It was quite common, have become more rare. Our withdrawal of the troops of afghanistan is predicated on training these afghan forces. I spent time in vietnam as an advisor. There were incidents from time to time with soldiers turning on their own troops or advisors. It happened very rarely. Almost never was it a function of the soldiers being complacent. Thats probably here. Frequently these things happen as a result of troops being annoyed that their assignments or not getting paid or just some personal animosity and rarely a function of there being a plant from the other side. Its very disturbing in any case. Particularly so since weve spent a great deal of time and money training these troops. A sad story we hear about a terrible attack at a military academy in afghanistan. A High Ranking Army general among the dead this morning. Return now to programming. We are back with m all right. We are back with those heroes in a half shell returning to the big screen. Megan fox stars at april oneil in an action packed reboot of the teenage mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. Shes with us this morning. How are you . Good morning. Is it true you had a big crush on one of is the turtles as a young girl . Yeah. Mikey. I dont know if you knew which one he was, he had the orange. Yeah, he was just the funny one, the carefree one. You know, hes not trying to be the leader or trying to be hes just trying to be himself. Its charming. I understand you are a big fan of the franchise. Obviously mikey as well. Did you have to fight to get cast in this movie. Well, i went in for a meeting and it was valentines day. I stayed for five hours to prove i was a superfan. Then i sent out a bunch of emails saying i understand if you cast someone else, but know im still going to be at the first day midnight showing because its going to be the best ever. You should have sent them pizza. Man, where were you when i was trying to get this movie . There you are in this movie. You play april the News Reporter covering the story of a lifetime. Question to you, the director said hes looking for someone who is obviously beautiful and capable, but not just a traditional damsel in distress. Something that more than meets the eye. He likes to say that about me because thats the transformers theme song. But its important for him not to sexualize april at all or exploit her or do gratuitous shots especially with me in the character. The point of the movie is shes saying what im seeing is real. Youve got to take my story seriously. Shes aspiring to do bigger things. We didnt want to undercut that. Obviously there are huge fans of this franchise. Yes. They can be very outspoken and vocal. Some of them were already criticizing the reboot of this before it was out. You had some choice words for them recently. I did. But you cannot say them on the show. But i can paraphrase. You said buzz off. Something like that. Yeah. I mean, i was asked about the fans theyre not fans, theyre haters really. That say its ruining my childhood. I said you know what . How much money did these movies make, obviously these people go see these movies and theyre going to see this one. If you dont like it, then, you know, go have a steak or whatever you say. I dont know. Again, your earlier words were more to the point. But i know better than to say that on this show. Thank you. Tell me about whats going on at home. Youve got two little boys with your husband brian green. They keep you busy all the time . Yeah. My oldest is not two years old. And my baby is turning six months here. Is this your first . It is. But were exhausted but its fun and amazing and theyre both special boys. Im lucky. You were about two weeks pregnant when you first started doing this role. Well, i got pregnant ten days in. Did you do your stunts while you were pregnant . I did. I tried to do most of them. There were some i couldnt do like wire work because its a legal issue. I had an amazing stunt woman whos much more talented than me at that. She did it when i needed her to. But i tried. Oh, theres video of me doing a stunt. There you are. While pregnant. Theres a fan blowing my hair and im like, rafael no a little preview of teenage mutant Ninja Turtles. Its so much better than that. Megan fox, a delight. Im going to go cry now. Okay. Well send it to carson. Thank you very much. Now to our special series this is 50 as we celebrate hodas mild stone birthday. Our new survey found out that more than 60 of single people in their 50s are either currently dating or theyre considering it. Hoda is an expert on that. How do you know . Dating is weird at any age, but it gets extra daunting when you hit the big 50 milestone. The pool changes, it gets smaller. I decided to sit down with a group of women. Some divorced, some never married. We wanted to have a candid conversation about the ups and downs and challenges of finding a companion. Take a look. Meet the Single Ladies all ready to play the dating game. Allison. Susan. Ivy. Joyce. Laurie. Six women with six journeys all navigating the world of relationship and love. Raise your hand if you enjoy dating. One up, one down. Sometimes. Describe what it is like to date in your 50s. Its really starting over and starting at a different place. At a certain age, for the women it dries up the pickings dry up. The men in the same age group want to date the younger women. And the men older than me that might want to date me are, you know, dead. Sometimes for this group its a matter of taking the plunge. It does take courage, doesnt it, to get back in there . Because were used to our lives. Its a scary experience to set yourself up for rejection again. I cant help but be myself on dates now. I dont know how to go back to that giggling girl that didnt know what she wanted or what she was interested in and just wanted to be liked by the best looking guy. Ill dare myself to flirt. Its hard sometimes. It is, but you know what . When you have nothing to lose, its just kind of fun. But to get there, it may mean leaving that comfort zone. Ive talked myself out of going out to anything sometimes because youre like, i cant. I have to put the dress on and meet someone. And i would think to myself i know who im going to meet in my apartment watching a rerun of law order. Nobody. I dont know who im going to meet if i step out the door. And sometimes its just showing up. Isnt it . Sometimes you have to put yourself back in the game. But that takes confidence. Sometimes ill feel very positive and optimistic and ill go online or ill meet someone at a party and that will go along okay. And then ill get discouraged and go back into hiding. Sometimes a little expert advice goes a long way. You can meet men everywhere and anywhere. Meeting dating coach bobby palmer. Really focus on you and what you have to offer and what you want to give and what a great relationship looks like and feels like to you. Every date you go on is not going to be magical. You can go on a lot of dates before you find the one. We asked bobby to run a mini boot camp to help our women. Taking responsibility for your actions and outcomes. When it was finally time for susans big date, she was able to use some of her new boot camp skills. Its just about having fun with people and sharing. Bobby weighed in working with susan to negotiate the nuances of scoring a successful date. You know, the third principle is taking responsibility for your actions and outcomes. And you nailed it. Nailed it. Well, it was fun. For all the women its a delicate balance of caution and confidence. What advice do you have about finding love the second or third time around . This is the best time in life to find love. We know ourselves so much better. Its a game thats well worth playing and winning. Instead of waiting to be chosen, i remind myself now that im doing the choosing. Yes. You get to choose. Its about you. How do you feel when they say certain things . Do you feel safe . Do you feel adore . How do you feel . Its about deciding how they make you feel. I got to tell you, sitting down with those women was so empowering. You saw these people putting themselves out there and it is hard. She said it right. Its about you. You have to feel good about yourself to go out in a setting of 50plus. However the actions are coming in from the guys, you have to take it with confidence. And remember when you had past relationships that were crummy, you cant take it out on the guys youre meeting. Sometimes youre like youre probably just like he was or they were. And it helps to be hot like hoda. You cant have any problems. Just wear a bikini. They did say one of the myths is and this is what bobby said men in their 50s or older only want 20somethings. Thats what you see. But statistics dont bear that out. So i said, please, these guys arent a very good morning to you. It is 8 26. Im laura garciacannon. A missing sailor whose salmon bo boat washed ashore is now in hiding. Well, the rains not playing possum. Lets check in with rob. Its been around the east bay this morning and the north bay. And through this afternoon, partly cloudy skies around san jose, where well see 80s, closer to 70 into San Francisco, and in the north bay, highs into the mid70s. Slight chance of an afternoon thunderstorm north of santa rosa and still scattered showers around the trivalley. Skies clear later tomorrow. 90s coming back to the trivalley later this week. Toot update in 30 minutes. From nbc news, this is todays take with al roker, natalie morales, willie geist, and tamron hall live from studio 1a in rockefeller plaza. You will not recognize bradley coopers voice. He plays a raccoon, but hes unbelievable. So great. Its fantastic. Anyway, must go see. Meanwhile, a big story were also talking about the latest on the ebola virus. The latest victim Nancy Writebol is soon to arrive at emory hospital in atlanta. Her plane briefly stopping in maine there for a refuel. And the hospital already treating as you know dr. Kent brantly. Hes the other american victim. Writebol and brantly have received doses of an experimental medication never before used on humans and doctors are calling their progress miraculous because of this vaccine that they had. Meantime, little bit of a scare here in new york yesterday. A man with a high fever had recently travelled to west africa, returned to new york and went to the hospital. He had signs of gastrointestinal disorder and a high fever. So he went to new yorks mt. Sinai hospital and they immediately started treating him and raised concerns because of where he traveled. But they said its unlikely he has ebola. They feel they dont believe its actually the ebola virus. But it is raising concerns and questions. Of course the cdc saying here are the things you need to watch out for. Telling people what the symptoms are. And also putting it into realistic perspective. You can have symptoms but they dont want people to believe everything that fits into what youve heard, fever, upset stomach. A transmission is very difficult. Bodily fluid. You cant just catch it by touching somebody. Its not airborne. Its exchanged through bodily fluids. I think matt lauer said we idolize athletes, but researchers on the forefront of creating this serum, for example, that were just learning about and other infectious diseases, they are 24 7 looking at ways to cure these deadly diseases that affect the globe. Its so intriguing. Sometimes putting their own lives on the line. And people like Nancy Writebol who went there as a missionary and was basically helping clean and decontaminate the areas that are effected. And dr. Brantly there to treat the patients. They really are heroes and deserve the best care and treatment which theyre getting now. The other thing, theres an amazing piece of video. Lets just roll it. I want you to hear this from the top. Theres a flash flood in las vegas. Get out get out about four inches of rainfall. Its like a river. It turns this road into look at the guy. You see from the nearby base get out of his car. And another group of airmen rescue folks out of this prius. You see the crown vic. That prius really amazing stuff. They had flash floods in Southern California yesterday. One person was killed. In the meantime, weve got these wildfires going on continuing out west. A state of emergency, 14 major wildfires going on at the same time. Air National Guard pilots captured that scene above the gulch fire. And theres one whole town that is getting ready thats on alert to evacuate in Northern California. But theyre still worried about this. Because lightning strikes could set off more wildfires. As many of these have been set off by lightning strikes. We see flash flooding often, but such a tremendous force of power. You wonder how much time they had. No time. Three inches of water is enough to knock you off your feet. A foot of water is enough to move a car. And people think theyre in suvs and they can get through that. You really cant. Thats why its turn around, dont drown. This became a raging river in a matter of about five minutes. Another story that a lot of people are reacting to. Ohio state university, their amazing band considered by all accounts one of the best College Bands in the country. I think they might be the best. You know, theres a controversy hovering over the band after allegations that students were hazed, Sexual Harassment amongst band members. The bands director was let go, jonathan waters. Hes now the former band director. He was fired to weeks ago after an investigation found a culture of harassment and alcohol abuse. Students mimic sex acts. Just a laundry list of things as a parent its your worst nightmare. You send your kid to college and this happens. Anyway, savannah spoke to waters on why he did not stop this culture. Heres what he said. And because its entrenched it doesnt turn on a dime. And so on this first day, i did, indeed, engage with our leadership and our Leadership Team in trying to shape that culture and trying to eliminate poor behaviors. We instituted a Wonderful Program of leadership training for our student leaders as well as sex abuse training and alcohol abuse training. All of these trainings that have instituted in our band has made it truly a better place since ive been director. In a statement late monday, a spokesperson said the investigation said waters was aware or should have known about the culture but failed to eliminate it. He was a band member back in the day. Then he became an assistant director and then the direct. Assistant director for ten years, so he knew what was going on there. Im sorry, youre the band director. Day one you just come in and you say its done. No more. You say youre a scapegoat when youve been a part of that culture for so many years. I dont like to read into people, you get under the hot lights of a studio, youre being interviewed. But i wish he had said, parents, trust me. I wasnt aware. Just something more heart felt. But he was aware. Im saying whatever his stance is, hes saying you cant turn around the titanic or whatever. I just needed more emotion. Because what some of these students went through is frightening and they dont deserve that. I wanted more heart from him. Pretty horrific and clear cases of allegations of abuse. All right. This happened to me the other day. Has this happened to you guys . Youre walking down the street i think this happens more to women, not guys. You walk down the street and a complete stranger says hey, pretty lady, why dont you smile. Do you get this . Smile, al. Well, it happened to me. I was at the airport thinking i got to get home and get my bag. And a guy said with such a pretty face, you should put a smile on it. I was like, okay, creep. Anyway, this was a schedule on the huffington post. They started this discussion. But rachel krans photographed women when theyre told to smile. First, because im intimidated by you. Another, because im worried about finding a job when i graduate. Reasons, perhaps, why im not smiling. And i smile all the time, if im not its just because im tired. Which is probably what a lot of us would say. What would you respond . What would i write . Usually if im not smiling with because i think i smile a lot probably to the point people think im ill. On the street . Yeah. Random thoughts. Youre preoccupied. But usually i think but it is true. I do think about, you know, what you put out there. Its hard. It is weird though. Because you are a stranger danger. Im busy. Get out of my way. I think your point, i dont think it happens to guys. Actually, i have had people say you know you seem so happy on tv, why arent you smiling . Well, im thinking about Something Else. People to get to and things to do. I was walking the other day and these guys were probably the nicest guys in the world, but there were ten guys on one side of the street. Im faced with this dilemma. Do i walk past or cross the street . I crossed the street. The little tamron walk. Jiggling it all. A lord of the dance, you know. Just smile and talk to myself. Im walking across, im smiling, im a little nutty. So you might not want to stop and talk to me. Anyway, because thats what i do all the time. Hey. Were looking at more rain out west. So we may see some more flooding out there. Especially anywhere from a half inch to an inch or more of rain. And in places where it has already been inundated, its going to be a problem. Weve also got double trouble. First time since 1982 weve got the potential for two hurricanes affecting hawaii. First weve got iselle 1115 miles east of hilo. Also Tropical Storm julio. So iselle makes its way and started to come across hilo right around thursday. And then continue on. And then right behind that, were going to be watching julio. It should be a minimal hurricane when it comes on shore, but we will continue to m and were seeing some unusual weather of our own with showers in the north bay, lake county into northern napa county, and whats left of the showers around east bay hills have wound down for the moment. And today well see temperatures in the 80s around the south bay, partly cloudy skies. Still a chance of an isolated shower around the peninsula, up into the north bay, where there is a slight chance of some thunder north of santa rosa this afternoon. Mid80s around pleasanton, with showers shutting down for tomorrow morning, drying out and warming up as we head towards the beginning of the weekend, with those inland temperatures in the trivalley. Baseball legislaend Darryl Strawberry went to be named rookie of the year, played in eight allstar games, racking up four world series championship rings. But the hitter also hit a major stumbling block during his career becoming addicted to cocaine, getting arrested, and later serving nearly a year in prison. This morning darryl and his wife tracy are ordained ministers. And they help struggling couples work through their relationships with advice in their book the imperfect marriage. Great to have you here. You have an Important Message to share. You say right off the top you arent marriage counselors and it may not work for everyone. You say youre imperfect people. You are people with broken marriages. You write you carry baggage into the relationship. Darryl, you carried a lot of baggage when you first met. Yeah. Had a lot of luggage. But im really grateful and blessed for my wife, who she is, because she was the person that cared about me. Really not about the uniform, not about the stuff i accomplished as a baseball player. She wanted me to see the person i was so i was able to walk in purpose. I think a lot of times we dont walk in purpose. A lot of time celebrities lives our secret and hidden. I lived on the golf course and hid behind the gates and had all kind of issues. I think we dont always deal with the issues. Tracy made me take responsibility and look at me as a person. And i was able to do that and we became a different person. Thats what we all really want. I wanted to know who i was. You wanted to be different and better. Tracy, what made you believe in him . Here you were living in the basement of your familys home. You called yo urs a spouse in waiting. What made you believe he could turn all of this around and be your husband . I believed in the greatness in darryl. His heart has always been revealed. He has a great heart. He had issues, though. He had to make the choice to get well. Theres a chapter in this called the spouse in waiting. What does that mean . That means when you are doing the right thing and youre walking the right way and your spouse has not. Your spouse has checked out. And thats several people. In this book weve suffered adultery, addiction, everything. And maybe people havent gone down that far, but we challenge reede readers to get real with themselves. Even if you havent gone down as far as we have, you can still make this work. Most people who go that far down the road, that road usually leads to divorce. Why didnt it happen for you guys . Well, i think because we put principles. We put biblical principles in our life and god at the center of our life. A lot of times were so selfish, people are so selfish. Its about us, us, us. What i realized, it had had to be a me first. I had to get me well first because its a we. I think a lot of times we come in and want this great marriage and white picket fence that life is going to go great. But theres a lot of rooted issues from childhood or something that i needed to deal with. I think when we all deal with our issues, it brings us together. And then there could be a we. Its got to be a me and then a we. Its a fascinating read. I think a lot of people can learn so much from your story. Darryl and tracy strawberry, thank you for sharing it with us. Police say jamala morris was wearing a mask when he broke into an apartment in fremont and waited for the mother and her daughter to come home. It happened on saturday night. Investigators say morris was waiting in the girls room and when she came in, he grabbed her and threatened her with a gun. When the mother went into the room, morris reportedly tied them both up with duct tape. During the attack, a relative of the woman came home, chasing that suspect office. Morris was eventually caught hours later. Officers say they found the victims wallet and other evidence in his home. Tonight, the San Jose City council will discuss the results of a recent poll on the sales tax hike. The city talked to 1,500 people by phone and found 67 would support a 4 increase going into the citys general fund. 65 would support a tax increase if the none would help fund better roads. 71 said they would be okay with the higher sales tax if it went to public safety. A look at weather and traffic right after the break. And heres another line of some rain dropping into napa county and lake county, moving from north to south. Right here, southbound 101 from university down towards embarcadero, we had one crash that cleared and about a mile and a half south of there, you can see it on the sign if you have really good eyes. A mile of backup right now. Thats causing folks to slow down coming off of that dumbarton bridge. Meanwhile, the rest of your bay, simmering down to a typical drive, slowing southbound 880 through fremont, northbound 880 approaching 101 through san jose. We call it rom com drama with a big plot twist. But we cant tell you what it is. We bring mark on because he cant really tell us what its all about either except to say this is sort of a love story where people find their best selves. I think thats a good way to put it. Im not allowed to talk about the movie. So you just keep talking about it. Theres a plot twist were trying to get around. Yeah. Were not talking about, like, you know, the sixth sense or anything. Youre not going to give it away. Its not a crying game situation. Were good. Wow. Were all good. But basically its sort of an examination of what its like at the beginning of your relationship when everything is wonderful and you present that best version of yourself to people. You talk about how you like to go to museums when really youre just like streaming game of thrones. Yeah. You say what you think they want to hear. What they want to hear. Then three months later you eventually find out, oh, wow. Youre really not at all who you said you were. And then how do you reconcile those things . And that way its a lot like marriage. Nice. You never have so much as a script as a 50page outline. For some folks that would be terrifying. It can be terrifying and you can fall flat on your face, which is part of the fun. Now my other favorite place outside of my closet, my kitchen. You tweeted your favorites to me. The first one is from terry. She loves this juicer. Three bucks, so handy. I use them too. And carla sends a picture of her iron skillet. I love mine so much. One of the best gifts i received. And then the indispensable wine opener. Although candace, i do like your style. I have never mastered that particular wine opener. So ill be practicing. So my favorite on my trend day tuesday trend is the convection oven. I am obsessed with this convection oven. We have a picture of my kitchen, i think, where i have purchased everything available we dont have it. But i spend a butt load on gadgets. This one i cant live without. Here to help me learn how to do meals, i got this six months ago. And i have house guests. Hi hi. Im confused over convection versus a traditional oven. First off, what makes the convection oven so special . Its different from a conventional oven because theres a fan attached to the heating element. That means instead of the heat being stationary and just working off the radiant heat from the walls, the fan is blowing the hot air around so it cooks super evenly and a little bit hotter. Natalie says shes obsessed with it as well. I have a small kitchen and this allowed me al got me a grill. I can grill a steak. Then i throw in my vegetables and prepare those all at once without heating up my kitchen. Thats why i love it. And you get all the benefits of a regular wall oven. My guests are hungry. Ive prepared one of my favorite things. Steak . Wheres the protein . So vegetables. One of my recipes i learned from a dear friend is two tablespoons of cumin and one of curry. I dont have a favorite brand or anything. And so what i do is Drizzle Olive Oil on this, then this with a bit of salt. I dont pretend to be Martha Stewart, although i do pretend. I do it at 400 for about 15 minutes. The only thing to keep in mind with the convection oven is its hotter in there. Thats heavy. It is. So if you want to if youre go i think to use convection, reduce the time youre baking or roasting. Its different. 400 is different from conventional to convection. Thats right. Reduce the temperature by 25 degrees. Instead of 400 roast at 375. Now, these are scones. I make scones every weekend. Meyer lemon scones. We have a picture of what i cooked this past weekend in my convection oven. Thats not what i cooked. Thats me. I did bake eggs this weekend and i do scones. And they turn out wonderfully. The great thing about baking in you know, when youre baking in a traditional oven most ovens have hot spots. Thats why you have to rotate your trays. Keep rotating. I will keep chatting about this on twitter. Well have more for you next tuesday in my trends. This today on nbc. Before w e get to the ladies, tomorrow were going to be talking about sex after 50. Well, unusual weather to say the least for august. Were looking at light rain at times for parts of the north and east bay, but probably more sunshine around areas san jose south during the afternoon. 80s, south of san jose. Upper 60s to low 70s around the coast and peninsula. Still the chance of an isolated thundershower. Mid80s around pleasanton for today with isolated showers. Things do turn drier tomorrow and warmer as we wrap up the week. Now for a check of your morning commute, heres mike. Were looking over here towards southbound 101 in palo alto. Things are still gumming up. The last of the crash has appeared to have cleared between university and san antonio. But we have a slower drive sticking around. Look at the map. Not quite as bad as it was. Were rippling back for our recovery from about marsh. Across the dumbarton bridge, things are very pleasant. A lighter commute, because its later in the commute, northbound 880 still slow from 280 to 101. And 87 had a tough morning, scott, because of early problems on 101, 87 has been taking a lot more commuters. The rest of your bay moving very smoothly. Back to you. Mike, thank you. Another local news update for you coming up in half an hour. From nbc news, this is today with Kathie Lee Gifford and hoda kotb live from studio 1a in rockefeller plaza. Hello, everybody. Were happy to be alive. Its booze day tuesday, august 5th. Were exhausted. Hodas birthday is killing me. Turning 60 was easier than turning 50 for hoda. One of the things i always wanted to do, they asked me what my bucket list was. I was like, i dont know. Anyway, one of the things i always wanted to do was sing backup. The issue is i cant sing. Thats not true. You can sing. You just cant sing harmony. Anyway, so kath gave me a little lesson. In the earlier hour, 8 30, we got a chance to sing backup with Kenny Loggins. My mic was actually turned on. Yes. But anyway, lets take a look. We didnt actually get to see it. No, we were doing it. Foot loose, foot loose kick off your sunday shoes jack get back, come on before we crack hoda oh, my god. It was so much fun. We got the crowd going and everything. Y if you cant move to a song like footloose, you need an i. V. When you want to do something and suddenly you step up to a mic and they go, stand by, youre about to sing. Ive sang in my apartment, in the makeup room, to you, but never like that. And kenny is such a great sport. Hes going to join us again. Its not called the blue sky riders. Its blue sky riders. Its like his third incarnation musically. If youve never been to a Kenny Loggins concert, stop it. Hes one of the greatest performers youll ever see. 66 years old now and singing better than ever. Love him. He was great. You were amazing. It was so much fun. Please tell me sky diving is not on your bucket list. No, it aint, girl. We have a friend whos here. And hes wearing underwear. Thats important. Because today is National Underwear day. It is. All right. We just want to the give a shoutout to ben goldman. Hes here. I met ben look at him. I met ben goldman in central park. He met matt. He was in studio 1a when he was 10 years old. He had stage three brain cancer. He came out of it better than ever. He saw me in the park, handed me a note. Can you believe this kid is 18 . No, i thought he was with Morgan Stanley or something. I work for fox connecticut news in hartford. When i saw you running, i said, i have to meet hoda kotb. I watched where why you were running, wrote a note, and now im in studio 1a. In other words, youre a stalker. You got that right. Exactly. I saved your letter because it was so beautiful. I put it in my little phone thing. Its a miracle you found it. I save certain things. You dont want to show that phone number again. You know what happened the first time. This kid is going to be huge. Hes like al michaels. Look. Thats al michaels right there. All right. Thanks. So it is National Underwear day. Are you wearing any . I always do. Unless i forget some. Are spanx enough . The only time i have not worn them is when i go to the gym in the morning and look in the bag and say, oh, my gosh, i forgot them. Thats happened before. Do you know how many pairs the average woman wears . How many . You can read it. Its right there. 21. How many do you own, roughly . I dont know. I dont count often enough to know. Stop with the percentages. How many do you have . I guess maybe six. No, i got granny panties. Im like you. I have the ones i wear every day. I always wear hanky pankys because theyre great with clothes. Everybody loves them. And it doesnt matter your size. It depends on how bloated i feel, you know. I like the kind that come up around the tummy. Sometimes i love those too. So 18 of you of us wear sexy underwear. Oh, im not even going to say that. And 80 of women youre sick, amanda. Youre perverted. But 80 of women are wearing the wrong bra size. Including me right now. People always talk about that. Anyway i saw this in the paper the other day. If youre offended by this, you may hold me accountable. But lets do our disclaimer. Were apologizing ahead of time. What youre going to see are peaches. Theyre fruit. Allegedly. No, theyre fruit. So dont freak out. Its a fruit seller in china. Watch. She put underwear on peaches. She calls them peaches panties. I think its genius. And you can actually send someone a box of nine peaches in panties for around 65. Thats Just Brilliant marketing. Heres what he says. The creator claims theyre sweet, tasty, sexy, and funny and theres nothing tacky about them. Not at all now that you know its a peach. People are about to write in. Theyre peaches stop writing us. Some are more peachy than others. And this is the interesting thing. You can customize your peaches. You can take custom orders. Anyway, you can go on our website. This is one of those cute baby pictures we like to show you. North west. Theres never a bad photo. Kanye is working on his new album. Thats what she looks like. Shes a little girl now. Shes a toddler. Gorgeous, gorgeous. Precious, yes. So heres something clever. You know how people are always taking great pictures of their babies and go on photo shoots and swaddle them . This guy decided instead of putting the baby in those positions, he put dogs or puppies. So these are some of the ones they took. So theres one all swaddled. And heres another one. The feet. That was me at 3 00 this morning. All of the sudden louie was in bed with us. This is like a baby. Im sorry. I feel that way. I do. Now that cody is 64 and wont get in a blanky like that. I miss it. He wont suck his thumb or anything. So we want to ask your opinion on this next story. Katie, this young girl got katy perry tickets. The mom said she was acting up and was fed up. She said, im going to take those tickets and sell them on ebay or whatever it was. She posted this thing on facebook for all to see that her 18yearold is a spoiled brat, she didnt deserve the tickets. The tickets sold in 90 minutes. Heres the question. Did she put a picture of her daughter too . There was a picture on her facebook page. So was what appropriate or not . Theres got to be a back story to this. It seems to me you brought this up. I want to give credit to hoda about this. Say what you were thinking. I just said maybe the girl was just being a real pain in the neck and the mother says, look, im telling you right now, one more word and im going to put these tickets and sell them on facebook. And the mother pushed the button. Maybe thats how it happened. You know, any time it seems harsh, but shes not beating her. Dont beat your children. And you have to be very, very careful because those things live forever. If youre a loving parent i bet she wants it back now, even though she did get 90 for the tickets. Heres another reason to love taylor swift. She visits often kids in the hospital. She visited this young child whos going through at bostons childrens hospital. Taylor showed up and gave him a little impromptu concert. Lets take a look. We are never ever ever getting back together perfect what did he say . I couldnt hear. So cute. So thats getting major, major hits on facebook. That video was posted to jordans page on facebook. I love when artists do things like that. I do too. A lot of people do it quietly. That was something someone shot a with phone. Just want everyone to know a movie my daughter cassidy was in this past year that really surprised at box office. I think it was in the top ten for two months or something. Made over 60 million domestically. Really worthwhile. Its called gods not dead. Out on dvd now. Bridget is a Washington Post columnist and the author of overwhelmed work, love, and play when no one has time. And meredith is the editor and chief of redbook. Ladies, welcome. Hello, ladies. Its a common theme, isnt it . Is it about prioritizing . Sometimes you open your eyes in the morning and youre like, oh, my god, i have a million things. I havent even started my day yet. Havent brushed your teeth and you want to get back in bed. That is a part of it. There is an awful lot to do all the time. Some of it is just the era that were living in. We overwork. We work among the most hours of any advanced economy. We overdo, overparent, helicopter, hover. We spend our most amount of time with our children, so we have very little leisure time. We dont value leisure time. Vacation is seen as something thats for wimps. People are afraid to take vacations sometimes given the economy. They end up packing their days and their holidays. Its true. What people forget is that actually taking time off is not only better for you physically, but mentally. Chronic stress can give you heart disease. It can give you all sorts of illnesses. You owe it to yourself and to your body to take time off. But then people dont. They might take a vacation, but they take all of their social media stuff with them. Or their work stuff. Theyre just in a different place doing the same amount of work. Before emails, returning a thousand emails, what did people do . Right. How did they get it done . Well, i think that goes back to the very original point that you made. Whats important. I think thats one of the things of all of this flood of information and technology, youre always feeling behind and that you can never catch up. Letting somebody down. I know people are probably nodding their heads. So a todo list. Let me write all the things i have to do and ill check them off and alleviate some stress. No . Thats sabotaging yourself. One of the most important things to do is remember your working memory can only hold seven pieces of information at a time. Thats on a good day. Write everything down, do a brain dump. But when you come to figure out what youre going to do, choose one thing thats most important and do that first. Let Everything Else slide. What do you do when you have the boss calling you saying, where is that whatever i expected an hour ago . We have to answer to so many people. I didnt know the statistic you just said that were spending more time with our children . Yes, working mothers spend more time with their kids than stayathome mothers did in the 60s and 70s. Interesting. The brain dump is interesting. Were trying to think of solutions. Give us some whats an idea . If youre feeling overwhelmed with your kids and life, what are things people can do to alleviate that a little bit . Well, to go back to the vacation thing for a moment, i feel like thats part of it. Whether you can only take a threeday weekend or you have your summer off, youre a mom, you can take a couple of weeks just to be with your kids, plan it in advance. 90 of people say theyve had a great vacation because theyve planned it a month in advance. And if youre working, you know, obviously ask for the time off, but then ten days before you go, remind everyone in your office that youre going to be gone. So no one is jumping at you. Does anybody do voicemail anymore besides me . You should do an outofoffice alert because it builds you a little cushion of time. I also find if you follow that be here now, wherever you are youre here, youre less stressed because youre not spending all your time you know how you are. Dont tell me about the next three things i have to do. Just right now. Suddenly you dont feel so overburdened with everything thats coming later. Another thing thats important is to recognize you dont have to earn it. A lot of times women in particular throughout history have felt like they need to earn time off. They dont deserve it. And you need to flip that. You deserve it and need to give yourself permission. By the way, your voicemail is full. I know. Its been full for two weeks. Ladies, thanks. Were going to see whos smarter. You three or bobbi. Okay. Lets begin. Were going across the street for our first question. Hi. Im Michelle Rogers from texas. Gentlemen, my question is, under what scenario you most comfortable with meeting a woman . Internet, grocery store, library, Walking Around with friends, being single, or at a bar . Good question. As a married man, i no longer look for women, but back in the day the church was a good place to find someone. You can find anything you want in church. You know, its funny because i was just a little bit off of church. I was going with strip clubs. You know, because the women are very friendly there for some reason. But at church you can preapprove. Ricky is a nice boy. I like barbecues. Picnics. Theyre friendly engagements with a lot of people around. Now lets hear the smart person. You can meet men everywhere and anywhere. Keep your eyes up, smile, and you will meet men every single place you go in your life. Its who you are, not where you are. Being the kind of person you want to be with, right . Lets let that marinate. What is going on . Be the change you want to see. I had to ruin it, huh . Okay. We have another question. Heres a viewer email. Paula said, is it possible to teach a man how to be thoughtful and romantic . My husband says its too hard for him to act like that. Really . Thats a horrible generality. Everyone in general is thoughtful and romantic. Not everyone. Thats not true. I think you can teach a guy these things, but you have to have patience, and you may die before he actually learns. You know what . Were a little bit positive reinforcement. When he does something thats right, really let him know its right. And that you appreciate it. Just like you give a puppy a treat when it doesnt poop on the floor. You give him a treat for not pooping on the floor. Lets listen to bobbi. I love it. So you have to let him know what that looks like to you, right . Guys cant read our minds. So true. The number one thing men say about women is we expect them to read our minds. Well, well take a look at weather and traffic coming up after the break. Well, its been an interesting morning of weather around the bay area, with showers possible. As we head into tonight, perhaps a few more showers moving down the peninsula before things begin to turn drier and warmer, approaching wednesday. Speaking of drier and warmer, looks like the south bay today, well see most of the sunshine, mid to upper 80s south of downtown, san jose. Close to 70 in San Francisco with a slight chance of a scattered showers and the slight chance of an isolated thundershower this afternoon. Im 50 and i was curious to know, what is it a man is looking for in a woman or his wife . What is a man looking for in a woman or his wife . I hope hes found it in his wife im just saying. If you still looking for something in your wife, you may have made a mistake. Well, for me personally, i was looking for somebody who was a teammate, a team player. And i feel i found that. Whenever i have an aspiration or a goal and i tell my wife about it, she wants to know what should we do to make it happen. I want someone i can laugh with. Someone who appreciates some of the things i appreciate but has their own life as well. But it hasnt worked out. Really havent done a great job. Bobbi, what do you think . Well, she said specifically after 50. I think that especially the gentlemen who are older are really looking its kind of like what you said. Really looking for a teammate, really looking for a partner. Were not building lives, were living great lives weve already created. But you build things together. A home, a family. Youve got to get a prenup. A guy wants to relax with his woman. He wants to feel at peace, safe. Like a woman wants with her man. Michelle davis, viewer email. She says, how come guys cant be upfront about their feelings . They beat around the bush about everybody. Say what you mean and mean what you say. Be the person you want to be with. I think guys tell the truth as a general rule. Were pretty easy people to figure out. What it is is that we tell the truth, but a lot of times people dont want to hear the truth unless its the truth they want to hear. So we say stuff yall dont like. Wait, why dont you tell us what you want . I just told you. You just didnt like what i said. But were also less verbal naturally, number one. Heres the thing. Not this group particularly. No. I say, dont worry about what hes saying. Worry about what hes doing. If a man is treating you like he loves you, if hes treating you with respect, if hes treating you like he cares for you, then he does. Because a lot of dudes know that you want to hear that so they say it, then they do whatever the heck they want to do. Thats actually for you amazing. Thats fantastic. Ive heard it said like this. You got to learn a persons love language. A lot of times a person shares with you in the way they feel loved. Right. Sometimes it may not be the same. Its like we say, like a grownup, when he steps up, shows up, and is grown up, then hes a good man for you. If you want him to talk about his feelings, ladies, zip it. Stop talking. Let him talk. You have to let a man process. They actually think before they talk. Its crazy. I love it. Okay. Kids, thanks so much. If they want to submit a question for our panel, what do they do . You may recall a few weeks ago our good friend bobbi thomas shared her struggles with infertility. Tens of thousands of babies are conceived through ivf every year. When she and her husband michael struggled with getting pregnant, they turned to a doctor who started them on their journey. Take a look. Hi. How are you . Im good. How are you . Ivf is invitro fertilization. Women take injection hormones so we can super ovulate the ovaries. We want those ovaries to act as if theyre going to ovulate multiple eggs. Its a challenging time. Youre trying to figure out how to internalize and deal with the process itself. Then also loving the skin im in and not feeling, i feel fat or i feel like a failure or all the other things that go through your head. Im nervous and really excited at the same time. Its been a few weeks of shots and things havent been so fun. But im also nervous about not having viable eggs. So it is early in the morning, and i am waiting for my monitoring appointment, which happens every other day. I have to get some blood taken. I also get an ultrasound so they can see how many follicles are growing and what the progress is. Howd it go last night with the shot . It made me nauseous. I woke up this morning. Is that normal . Yes. Uterine lining looks great. Its a vaginal ultrasound with a needle attached to it. Its applied to suction. The needle is place into the ovaries. Fluid is drained. Eggs come with the fluids. We were able to get more eggs than last time. The next step is to see, you know, whether they are able to fertilize and if so, we just hope that they are good quality because thats the most important part. Wow. And bobby is here with the doctor. Gynecologist and inter fifertii specialist. Im so fortunate and so loved. I have to say the biggest reason i wanted to talk about this is because its hard enough to go through. To make something a secret. I found myself whispering in the hallways. So many women were going through it. Shes my biggest girl crush. You really need to find a support system and a doctor like this who can help you get through it. Not just clinical but cared for you. Who cares for you. Its really important. I would joke around. Ive broken two skirts, the zippers on the side. I have two nursing bras. I take it in a different way. Im so flattered somebody is interested in whats going on with me. I dont think somebody is intentionally like is that a bu burrito or a baby bunch. Thank you for emailing well wishes. How is bobby doing . Ive seen a complete transformation and acceptance this is whats happening. She is going through this process with grace. Shes resilient. Shes trusting and i think it just really makes the process so much easier to go through. No guarantees this is going to end up with a baby. What ive learn sod much thanks to the doctor we see celebrities on tv with babies at 46. The reality is thats not normal. Talking to her, its not a one and done. Ivf is not a solution. You go through a process, one round. You can spend 20,000. I have insurance. Im really lucky. Most dont. They mortgage their house and have no guarantees it will work. Mine didnt the first time. Were going to keep following you as you go through the process. Your husband michael is so supportive. He is.
