Our top story this morning is the possible break in the search for the missing student Hannah Graham. She disappeared six weeks ago, law officials announce they found human remains. Police say they found the remains thought to be those of Hannah Graham on an abandoned property outside of charlottesville, less than ten miles where she disappeared. Although they have notified grahams parents, police are still working to confirm the identity. Her parents and College Community now preparing for the worst. At the university of virginia shock and grief as word spread that human remains were found, possibly those of Hannah Graham. I think its really scary and definitely disturbing. Its terribly sad. Our hearts go out to the whole family. Its important that her parents get closure if its her. Sometime before noon today, a search team from the Chesterfield CountySheriffs Department was searching a property in Southern Area of the county when they discovered human remains. Detective james mooney of the Charlottesville Police department made a very difficult phone call and reached out to john and susan graham to share with them this preliminary discovery. Those who found her also spoke out. A definite wow moment. When we sent these guys off, it was with the hopes that they were going down there with a fresh set of eyes and would turn something up. The 18yearold disappeared in the early hours of saturday, september 13th, last seen with a man identified as 32yearold jesse matthew. Matthew has been charge with abducting graham and linked to other cases of sexual assault. So far, he hasnt entered a plea. For weeks, this community has come together to search for graham, holding vigils. Her parents pleading for the publics help. Please, please, please, please help end this nightmare for all of us. Authorities are now conducting forensic tests on the remains hoping to bring closure. They will look at the clothing, personal items, dna, dental chart, anything they can to make a positive identification. As this community braces itself. Now in a statement, matthews attorney said i understand the search teams found remains on an abandoned farm. We are waiting to see the results of the medical examiners autopsy. No further comment.
