Well talk to you in a bit and certainly no vacation picnic for a lot of people on a cruise ship that just docked in galveston. It docked 6 eastern time, letting off passengers including that woman who was being watched closely for ebola. Our top story this morning is the possible break in the search for the missing student Hannah Graham. She disappeared six weeks ago, law officials announce they found human remains. Police say they found the remains thought to be those of Hannah Graham on an abandoned property outside of charlottesville, less than ten miles where she disappeared. Although they have notified grahams parents, police are still working to confirm the identity. Her parents and College Community now preparing for the worst. At the university of virginia shock and grief as word spread that human remains were found, possibly those of Hannah Graham. I think its really scary and definitely disturbing. Its terribly sad. Our hearts go out to the whole family. Its important that her parents get closure if its her. Sometime before noon today, a search team from the Chesterfield County Sheriffs Department was searching a property in Southern Area of the county when they discovered human remains. Detective james mooney of the Charlottesville Police department made a very difficult phone call and reached out to john and susan graham to share with them this preliminary discovery. Those who found her also spoke out. A definite wow moment. When we sent these guys off, it was with the hopes that they were going down there with a fresh set of eyes and would turn something up. The 18yearold disappeared in the early hours of saturday, september 13th, last seen with a man identified as 32yearold jesse matthew. Matthew has been charge with abducting graham and linked to other cases of sexual assault. So far, he hasnt entered a plea. For weeks, this community has come together to search for graham, holding vigils. Her parents pleading for the publics help. Please, please, please, please help end this nightmare for all of us. Authorities are now conducting forensic tests on the remains hoping to bring closure. They will look at the clothing, personal items, dna, dental chart, anything they can to make a positive identification. As this community braces itself. Now in a statement, matthews attorney said i understand the search teams found remains on an abandoned farm. We are waiting to see the results of the medical examiners autopsy. No further comment. Meantime, the community has call off a large search for graham that was scheduled for later today. Erica. Kristen, thank you. Turning now to that chaotic scene in New Hampshire. An annual pumpkin festival in a college town, exploded into a riot in the streets. Ron mott is in New Hampshire with us. Reporter this was supposed to be a Family Friendly event. They had some problems last year but the folks who came here this year to disrupt the proceedings, they took it to another level. Take a look at the street behind me. Im not sure exactly what was burned here. I think it was a couch or mattress of some kind. You can see the street is littered with beer cans and this was a Family Friendly event. Take a look at some of the pictures yesterday. This all started about 2 00 in the afternoon where police had to be call to break up some of these parties off the College Campus here of Keen State College where a lot of people decided to spend the afternoon drinking and toward the end of the evening, decided to head toward the pumpkin fest. Police fired rubber bullets and tear gas into this crowd. Dozens of people were hurt. No one admitted but there were a lot of cuts and bruises as you can imagine. There is one shot of young man where the police told him to go beyond a barricade and had to be taken down forcibly. We dont know the number of arrests. Were waiting to hear back from the Police Department on the number. The College President says shes very disappointed that some of her students were involved in this yesterday. Quite a scene, all right. Im looking at that. All this action at one side and then you hear pumpkin fest. It definitely doesnt balance. Im sure their parents are proud. Were following some of the other stories for us this morning. We begin with a tense situation in hong kong this morning. Early morning, demonstrator launched a fresh assault against police. It comes before a sit down with the hong kong student. A u. S. Led air strike held against the Islamic State group. Memorialize were held on saturday for american journal james foley and in scotland for british worker david haines both killed by isis. There are new pictures of kim jonghundred un. Its so close that mass is a nasa moved its mars orbitors out of potential danger. A comet the size of a small mountain. I guess i would move it too. This time of the morning, we talk to chuck todd about all things politics, were going to do that. But first you are taking meet the press on the road. Explain. Were calling it meet the voters. If you look at where this battle for the u. S. Senate control which is the biggest thing on the ballot, its taking place in two regions in the country, the midwest and the south, on this week, im hitting the road on midwest. Ill go to kansas, ie awarks wisconsin d iowa, and following week well head go to south. The electorate is really upset. They want to punish one Party Without rewarding the other one. Were seeing all sorts of things. The other party and the incumbents are trouble. A set of wheels and i like the wheres check hash tag. Lets talk about the Supreme Court giving the texas to go ahead with this very strict voter i. D. Law. Whats behind that . I think the Supreme Courts wants to take it up in some form, they didnt intervene in some voter i. D. Laws were thrown out in other states. This one, they decided to let it stand, which tells you at some point, it looks like they want to try to take a larger case on this issue of voter i. D. , what is constitutional and what isnt. Obviously, they thought so close to an elect, let the rules stand and its usually where the Supreme Court is, even if they dont have an opinion one way or the other on constitutionality, if it gets too close to an election, they will say whatever the state has been doing to prepare, let it go for now and then well discuss. Well see, it will be interesting to see what kind of impact. This could be a good test case. A lot of people upset about that voter i. D. Law. Now, they have an election to find out how many voters. Ebola is becoming a political issue. Ron clay, the new point person on the ebola crisis apparently had a meeting this week with whitehouse chief of staff. Where is the president on this. Is this still a game of catch up right now, trying to get ahead of this . It is. Its sort of a like wash, rinse, repeat, episode when it comes to president obama, where the white house looks like they are behind the eight ball and they throw a whole bunch of resources on it. And they eventually get ahead of it. The question is do they get ahead of it before the democrats in november. Dylan is still in bermuda as we mentioned this morning. Residents are making a lot of headway from the hurricane. Thats great news. It certainly is. Guys, i swear im only here because the airport is closed. Sure, dylan. The weather is fantastic now. I want to point out this was a major storm that hit this island. There were no lives lost. There were no critical injuries reported. 5 30 yesterday morning, we saw a lot of damage. There were power lines draped across the roads. There were huge trees blocking the path, but then by noontime all of a sudden all the major debris was cleared away. Power was already starting to get restored and all the roads were passable. This island rebounded so quickly, we did talk to some residents who lost pieces of their roofs and they said hey were all safe. I was with my family. A little bit of damage. Well fix it. The resilience here was amazing to see and its almost like the storm never happened. There is some minor cleanup but things are already improving here in bermuda. I want to point out hurricane ana is a category 1 storm staying well to the south of the hawaiian islands. Honolulu could see waves of 8 feet. Thats really high for them. These days practically everything gets posted on social media, even dance moves. It is appropriate to facebook, instagram or tweet while at a wedding . People on both sides have strong opinions about it. We went out for wedding tech etiquette research. I walked around with her father around the block three times at least three times to get up the courage to say, can i marry your daughter . He was looking down the aisle. I was looking at him. Remember the good old days when getting married was, well, simple . I didnt find anything so difficult. Tying the knot isnt so simple anymore. Now along with book the venue, band, florist, limb know, caterer, photographerer, wedding planner, save the date, wedding app and websites, add this to your wedding list decisions, hashtag or not to hashtag. Hashtag. I dont think we ought to have hashtaging. He doesnt know what hes talk about when he says hashtag. Welcome to the world of weddings 2. 0. According to knot. Most importantly, remember to be in moment. May you all live hashtag happily ever after. Nbc news, new york. And a posting and etiquette expert joins us this morning. Good morning. Good morning. We posted on face book and got incredible responses. One said keep all electronics away. Its rude. Another says, as a brierksd i was completely unaware of anyone taking photo or videos during the ceremony. I say the more the better. If you go on any wedding chat room now, these are the questions youll see. Its the questions im getting now from people. This is the hot topic. When it comes to social media and weddings, what are the most important take aways here . The old rules or new rules come from old rules really. This is respecting the fact its a wedding. This is about respecting the couples wishes. First and foremost, thats the biggest guideline. Knowing what it means to be a good guest. You put your cell phone away for the ceremony and reception. Youre not posting photos of the bride until shes actually married. You dont want to post anybodys news that they got married or engaged on social media until it actually happened. Its bad enough having the cell phone out. Dont block anybodys view with the ipad. What about the parents of groom or bride. They put this no digital rule. What do you think about that . Unless youre an alist celebrity, putting this on the entire day is a big ask of your guests. If you want to Say Something what i think is fair, listen bride, groom, what about if we have it just be for the ceremony . Thats fair to say this is the ceremony focus here. Open up for reception and ask people not to post until the next day. Where do you put that . Is there a sign when you walk in, on your program, menu at dinner . Whats the best way to tell people . Its good to tell them a lot. Tell them on the program or a sign when you enter the ceremony area. Have the best man or someone make announcement to people. Lets not forget, people were not long ago putting disposable cameras at each table. That was at my wedding not that long ago. We have a birthday girl with us this morning. Shes from memphis. So fun. The first thing you have for us is the cool wreath over here, sort of Edgar Allen Poe thing going on. Not too scary. Not too scary. Theyre easy to make. Youre going to show us how to make it. We start with the gothic wreath and raven. How do we make this . First off go to local craft store or michaels. Grab a styrofoam ring. Spray paint it black. Kids could help. This is easy. These are plastic ties. A lot of people have these at home. These are great for computer cables and also making this wreath. We put them right around the edge. Then the birds that we have obviously you can do whatever you want. Just glue the bird on. You can glue the bird, add a bow. Its a fun, different wreath. I might steal that one later. Dont tell anybody. This is a fun way to do a wreath. You have an idea to spruce up up pumpkins we have. It involves power tools. Love the power drills. What are we doing here. Hollow out the pumpkin from underneath. Cut out the bottom. Then youre going to take a sharpie and make your design. Could be swirls, diamonds, initial, whatever you like.
