Wick kileaks releasing secr for hacking into your phone, your tv and people wondering now do the bad guys have access to this information . Well start with politics. Formal debate over the new Health Care Bill getting underway this morning and it is facing strong opposition not only democrats but a number of republicans as well. Well start with Hallie Jackson at the white house. Good morning. Reporter good morning. The president will meet with conserve tiff leaders to talk about health care with the white house emphasizing this is really the start of a process to figure out whats in and whats out of that new bill. On capitol hill lawmakers will start making changes but for the gop its far from a united front. This morning republican rebellion with the white house working to avoid what might be a mutiny brewing against a new bill to repeal and replace obamacare. Were going to have something thats going to be much more understood and much more popular than people can even imagine. Reporter so far, its not popular with some in his own party. Some conservatives concerned about different parts of the plan. Theres those on the far right including outside groups worried about it costing too much and not going far enough. This is instead a step in the wrong direction. Obviously we have some serious concerns. We are united on repeal, but we are divided on replacement. Reporter more moderate republicans are focusing on saving Medicaid Expansion and for others, saving planned parenthood funding might end up a Sticking Point. The administration reassuring everyone this is still a work in progress, a starting point as Vice President pence explained to nbc. I think were very early in the legislative process. Reporter while the white house wants to focus on health care its still facing fallout from President Trumps explosive tweet accusing president obama of ordering the wiretapping of trump tower. Have you seen evidence of that . No, i havent. I have not seen that evidence. Reporter the white house still providing no proof of his claim, but press Secretary Sean Spicer pointing to the need for a congressional investigation. Why would the president Want Congress to investigate for information he already has . I think theres a separation of powers aspect here as i mentioned to jonathan. You talked about resources and time. Why waste that . Its not a question of waste it. Its a question of appropriateness. Nounes defending the president. I think a lot of the things that he says you guys sometimes take literally. Reporter congressman nunes also announcing the first public hearing of his house intelligence committee. Former intelligence officials under president obama have been invited to testify on march 20th and so has former acting attorney general sally yates who if you remember was fired by President Trump not long after he took office. All right. Thanks, hallie. If the new Health Care Plan is enacted how would it affect your costs . Our chief Business Correspondent has been looking at the numbers for us and focusing on three groups that could see big changes. Good morning. Good to see you. Lets start as we see here with the sick. Lets talk this first scenario. A 45yearold woman bho hwho ha diabetes. She will have guaranteed coverage. You cannot lose your coverage if youve already got it. Her premiums will stay put. Under obamacare the same thing is matched here. Your premiums cant go up for a preexisting condition but this is how Insurance Companies get around expenses. An increase in the amount that youre going to spend on your health care. For people already sick costs likely to go up. Were looking at the poor medicaid. A lot of questions around that. 55yearold in some financial distress perhaps relying on medicaid. Under obamacare this person would have had subsidies to pay. At this point they can still stay on medicaid. They may be eligible for tax credits however, on january 1st, 2020, the states that have made cade the grants are going to change. Theyll be stuck at 2016 levels so the states may slash the benefits that you get if youre on medicaid. For those who are poor but not on medicaid, if you let your coverage lapse because you dont have the money to pay for it, when you go back to get it youll pay a 30 penalty on top of your premium. This is to encourage people to keep on buying insurance even when they think they dont need it. And thats a Sticking Point for some republicans senators. Thats right. Older americans, perhaps on a budget. Right. So this is before you get into medicare. Lets say youre 60 years old. The credit in exchange for the subsidies under obamacare, the maximum credit youre going to get if youre 60 years old is 4,000. You cannot get a proper policy for 4,000. You might be able to get a catastrophic policy which means if something very bad happens youll be covered. These premiums are likely to go up and as i said, the only coverage youre going to get is the basic coverage that if the worse thing happens and if youre older and you want insurance to pay for your normal ongoing medical care youll be out of pocket by a lot of money. Young adults up to 26, people with preexisting conditions still protected. They get to stay on their parents and a lot of this may change. Thank you. And now to the story we talked about at the top, that explosive new document dumped from wikileaks and its haet hitting close to home. This claims to reveal how the cia hacks phones, televisions and other devices not in the u. S. , but all over the world. Peter alexander has the latest. Peter, good morning. Reporter good morning to you. Wikileaks released thousands of documents that it claims shows how the cia could crack open devices by apple, samsung, microsoft and google. The documents potentially reveal the agencys secretive hacking techniques to try to penetrate some of the systems around the world. This morning growing fallout in the wake of wikileaks latest document dump. The most sweeping collection of u. S. Spying documents ever. Its a very, very serious issue. Posting nearly 9,000 pages of documents that it claims come from the cias hacking arsenal. Nbc news has not authenticated the documents and the cia isnt commenting about them. Among the documents released secret techniques that exploit security vulnerabilities in common Electronic Devices like phones and smart tvs. The documents also expose Software Tools designed to break into any iphone or android and bypass secure messaging applications. One cyber tactic called weeping angel revealing how to eaves drop on internet connected samsung tvs when they appear to be turned off. Samsung acknowledged privacy concerns. After the companys Privacy Policy cautioned users from sharing personal information around its tv sets the Company Issued a clarification saying the sets do not monitor conversations. But they do collect voice commands when a user pushes a button to make a search request. Many of the nations Top Tech Companies including google and microsoft say theyre investigating the documents. The spying tools Intelligence Experts say would have been used ex plusively for Foreign Surveillance but now could be used by cyber criminals to target americans. When you see something that is billed as internet connected, a car, a home, a light switch, whatever, just remember that also potentially means hacker connected. This is the Swiss Army Knife of hacker tools so anyone can now take a tool, decide what to attack and they can turn anybodys Electronic Devices into surveillance devices. Wikileaks isnt revealing its source but it said the documents had been circulated among former u. S. Government contractors and hackers claiming one of them passed the documents to wikileaks. It also puts President Trump in an unusual position. After attacking the Intelligence Community and during the campaign praising wikileaks. Wikileaks, i love wikileaks. The white house has declined to comment. Late tuesday apple said it had already addressed many of the issues described in the documents. It posted a statement that read in part, while our initial analysis indicates that many of the issues leaked today were already patched in the latest operating system, we will continue to work rapidly to address any identified vulnerabilities. What theyre doing right now is urging people to make sure that you download the latest operating system to make sure you have the most updated security updates available. Peter alexander, thank you. Good morning. Good morning, savannah. Yeah, a real shock and loss for the animal caretakers who knew their animals were at risk. We all know that these rhinoceroses are being targeted and poached at alarming rates in africa. But this is a real first, targeting a zoo in a european capital. Reporter david says the one thing you should never do, physically fight a mugger. Ive seen women carry keys in their hands. Unless youre a good fighter, thats not a good idea. We have an eyeopening new study that links highrisk foods to half of all Heart Disease death ns the u. S. So what should you be eating, and what should you avoid . We have dr. Mehmet oz, the most of the dr. Oz show. Good morning. Explain what this study did. Seems like they rounded up all the Information Available and came to some conclusions. It was very well done. They took a lot of information that the government gathers about our habits and looked at why people die and connected the two by looking at studies trying to figure out how important are the foods. We found out that six foods were really important for us to eat, and four food groups were important not to eat. The factor, if we do that right, out of all the people who die of heart attacks and strokes and diabetes in america, we could cut it almost in half. 45 attributable to ten food decisions. Significant. Without further adieu, what are the foods . The foots, number one. In the fat category, there is the oily fish. Cold water fish, salmon, sardines. Fish of that nature are important for a lot of reasons. The fats allow the brain to work better, reduces irregular heart beats in the heart, relaxes blo blood, muscles. Nuts. One serving is enough. You need a serving a day of nuts. A serving is a handful. About 20, if youre anal. A handful if not. Not with beer, just the nuts. These are not peanuts but tree nuts. Walnuts, almonds, that kind of thing. Right. We talked to the researchers. Theyre called vegetable oils but there are seed and nut oils. Canola, corn oil, flax seed oil. Olive oil wasnt in the study but probably belongs in that category as well. Leafy vegetables. Four servings of leafy vegetables. Three servings of fruit. Very important to feed the gut in your body. They replace a lot of the bad habit foods you might otherwise take. Dont avoid healthy carbs. If it is a healthy carb like whole wheat. You can have four servings of this. Four pieces of bread or four servings of cereal. Okay. Here is the important part. You want to try as much as possible to eat those and not these. Okay. Please let wine not be on this list. Wine is not here. Something else that is surprising. Salt, drives up Blood Pressure, big problem. Sugar sweetened beverages, a huge issue. These are major drivers. Processed meats because theyre rich in nitrates. Salt, too, right . Salt as well. Red meat is on the list. It barely made the list. It was the least important of the ten things i mentioned but it is on the list. The authors recommend we have one serving, a palmful of meat, a week. A lot of people wont be happy. But of all the things on here, it is the least important. Ill push the least on red meat. Everything else is pretty important. One other big idea. I was watching this morning with you, talking about the health care budget. If you want to change health care in america, this is how you do it. This is how you bring back the system. Great to meet you. Start with breakfast. Yo. And over. Before breakfast, i want to give a general template for meals so people can pick and plug according to their tastes. Mmhmm. So each meal, i want to base it around protein, vegetables and then a moderate amount of healthy fat and unprocessed carbohydrates. Things like fruit. Yeah. So the breakfast, we have whole eggs. Theres a lot of misconceptions about eggs being unhealthy. The nutrients come from the n k yolk. The egg white thing is a thing of the past. Yes also a pain in the butt. What do you do, waste it. Theyre all so dry. So we have whole eggs. Veggies. Feta cheese in there and avocado for healthy fats, some fruit. Coffee and milk, sugar. Awesome. A lot of People Stress about what to put in their coffee. I say put what you like. It is not going to make or break the diet. It is real. Do what you like. What if you dont want to eat a veggie omelet . I actually really enjoy oatmealtein powder mixed it. You can make it sweet or salty. How about lunch . Here, we have a salad with chicken. I think the easiest recommendation at lunch when you order out is to get a salad in stead of a sandwich. Okay. Simple, easy. With protein . With protein, healthy fats. Here, we have pumpkin seeds. You can go avocado. This is an oilbased dressing. Pumpkin seeds, good magnesium. You can do tofu, too, right . Of course. If you get tired of salads . The main thing is be careful on the dressings. Vin vinaigrette, oil, stuff like that. Lets move to dinner. Lunch and dinner are interchangeable. Right. This could also be a lunch and vice versa. Here, we have salmon, veggies, sweet potatoes. Again, healthy fat. Well see after the workout thing. But when you finish working out, what do you do to kind of build back up again . To build back up, make sure to get protein. I personally like drinking a shake. A lot of people find theyre just not hungry after a workout. It is still important to get something in you. A good protein shake. Yeah. Find one that tastes good. I use, if people are looking, one called metabolic dry. Ive had that, yeah. It is great. These are cold cuts. People want to know what is a good snack. Instead of crackers and chips, cold cuts. Protein. Awesome. For dessert . I have ice cream. It is my personal favorite. But this is mostly i really think most people try too hard to yeah, exactly to be too restrictive. It is important to have some fun, too. All right. Can i eat this . You want to mention phil rosenthal. He lives to eat. I know he does. People look at kate upton and think she starves herself. She eats doughnuts. Dont look now but chuck norris is right behind you. I heard superheroes read chuck norris comics. I heard at night, the boogeyman checks under the bed for chuck. I heard cats say they have chucklike reflexes. Do you think hes still got it . I bet you a buck he catches this salt shaker. Youre on hey chuck you owe me a buck. You cant always see whats coming but when you choose unitedhealthcare, finding an innetwork doctor thats close to home is easy. So what happened . I had lunch with chuck norris. Unitedhealthcare. Because at best foods, were on the side of food. New developmts. In thedeadly a good wednesday morning. 9 26. Im sam brock. We have new developments in the deadly stabbing of a popular Little League baseball coach last month in san jose. He was stabbed outside of a bar where he worked as head of security. As nbc bay area reported they have two more suspects in custody related to his killing. That brings the total number of suspects under arrest to six. We only have mug shots of five of those suspects, two of whom are due to appear in court later today. That includes santo trevino, who Police Believe used the knife to stab navarro. Dozens of rallies are planned across the nation. The National Protest plans to draw attention to inequality that women face in the workplace from pay to harassment. Heres a list of all the largest bay area events. Protesters are meeting for a noon rally at San Jose City hall, also planning a march at San Francisco city hall at 11 00 a. M. And in oakland, organizers plan to gather at 5 00 this evening at ogawa plaza. At Berkeley Students and teachers will plan a rally at 5 00. Well have a look at weather and traffic after this. Were seeing a lot of sunshine around the bay area. Tiburon, 55 degrees. Ocean beach, mostly clear skies right now. 54 degrees. Also 54 in san jose with some hazy sunshine. Its the Santa Clara Valley southward today. Well probably see the lowest temperatures in low 70s south of downtown. 68 livermore. Mid60s from the coast do San Francisco. Notice the sevenday forecast. Not much change there. Upper 60s to low 70s inland as we go through the weekend. There is a change sunday morning. Well lose an hour of sleep. Spring forward for sunday morning. No. Looking in the south bay, the south bay with westbound 237 jamming up. The crash is eastbound. Thats why your countercommute direction is so bad at north first. Still in lanes. Crash cleared at 88 and brokaw. Crash at alameda causing slowing but the rest of the south bay moves better. Thank you so much. That will do it for us right now. Well be back with more news in 30 minutes. We are back with personal trainer to the stars. Weve got our shirts on. Thats just fine. Hes the man behind some of the most fit fee sicks in holiday. Chelsea handler and jessica beal. Today, hes going to help you look like them. The best part is that anyone can do these exercises because even your mom whos 67 years old whos doing them. My mom is my starpupal. Were going to do five quick moves that if we did these in a circuit, so you go here, you go here, ill go here. First thing were going to show a core exercise. This is the one we do all the time for abs. Its a side plank. This actually looks really funny but its no joke. Its super serious. You need a partner for this. Now im going to have jamie go off the side so thats step one just hold it and step 2 like jamies doing is go up and down and step 3 is move your arms out. Jamie you do this . Sometimes. Thats no joke. It is no joke. Hands down. Now were going to go to my favorite butt exercise which is called hip thrust. This is the one that kate upton does. Shes probably the strongest hip thruster ive ever trained. What were going to do back on the bench, hands on your stomach, what youre going to do fit like this, come up squeeze your but, come back down. Butt almost on the floor. This is actually good. I dont want you on your elbows. People two things screw up, elbow on the bench and head back that makes you arch your back. Try to give yourself a hug. That is so uplifting. Usually i say no eye contact but well look right into each. If im at home and i dont have some fancy bench like this. You could uses a chair or couch actually a couch is more comfortable than a bench. Typically we do about 20 but i dont want you to hate me so were good. How many times a week or how long . Three to four times a week for 30 to 45 minutes. It works all the small muscles that you have that make your you really tone up fast. Ive lost ten pounds in a month. Seriously . Lets do another one. Next one were going to do squats. The first progression is called goblet squat. Youre going to hold the dumb bell on your chest. Jessica does this the super, super advanced version. What youre going to do here chest like this, squat down. You can do it facing a bench tap the bench and up. Step one is to the bench. Step 2 is like jamies doing. This is goblet squat and when you take it ten steps farther you can do what jess is doing. Jess just jump squats and im glad shes showing you instead of me. I think jessica could probably enter the dunk contest. For sure. She should just join the ufc. The split squat. Youre going to stand a couple feet from the bench. What youre going to do, foot forward like this, back foot on the bench and just kneel down, get situated. Its good to start from the bottom position, hold the dumb bell here and pop up. Just like this. So this is probably the single most hated exercise. I hate it. With my clients and because its just really hard but its one of the best exercises for your legs and butt. You have 30 seconds left. We want to get the arms in. So real quick, what were going to do real quick for the back of your arms. Lie back elbows out and come up like this. So youll come up like this. Okay. Easy enough. If i do this then well be ready for my trip to scottland in a couple days. Uh. Thank you so much. Ben is going to answer any questions you have right now about diet or exercise on facebook live. How nice are you . So go to facebook. Com todayhealth. One of the biggest music stars in the world. Genetics, age, disease, injury, they all play a role in pain. One woman believes she found the key to living a pain free life. The struggle is real reporter this musician played the piano every day until injury struck. I was in constant pain. 24 7. This went on for months. I had suffered a handsprain. A year later, developed a frozen shoulder syndrome. Reporter doctors were recommending a physical therapy regimen. A busy mom of five, she went online for other options. She found a Fitness Instructor who also had chronic pain. I had Rheumatoid Arthritis and other problems out of my problem. I learned the anatomy raw and in a new way. The second i saw inside a body, i was like, how can we not wonder what all of this white stuff is . Reporter the white stuff is real. It is part of the soft tissue connections that make up the body. Muscle, ligament, facia. If you imagine facia as a giant cobweb like hair, you wouldnt rip into a knot, right . Reporter to help clients treat their pain, ashley invested the facia blaster, a hand held wand used to release adhesions. From pro athletes to hollywood to the victorias secret runway, ashley using this 89 tool to get at the facia below and transform pain. Because it is everywhere, and if it is restricted, remember it is clamping down on the blood and nerve. Reporter because of ashleys own pain struggles, she wrote a book on it, hoping to help others return to a normal, pain free life. How important is it to take care of facia . Ill say a 20 on a 1 to 10. To me, it is the difference between being in blinding pain and in bed to surfing. Night and day, lifechanging difference. This all falls in the category, cant hurt medicine. Meaning, try it. It cant hurt you. If it helps, it is a grand slam home run. Well, here to talk more about this, nbc news medical contributor natalie azar. Good to see you guys. It would seem you wouldnt need to suffer from chronic pain to benefit from this. Almost anybody could. Yeah. It co treat localized pain and more generalized pain. As was said in the clip, this is facia. This is your connective tissue that basically attaches and stabilizes your muscles and all of your internal organs. When it is loose and hydrated, you are mobile, flexible. Youre stable. But because sometimes because of injury or inflammation or trauma or sometimes just from sitting in one position for too long, the facia louis loses hydration tight and compresses the nerves and vessels running through muscles and can cause pain. The idea behind it is that you need to relube lubricate the f. You can hydrate, so drink water. Think of it as a cinch in the hose. The water doesnt get to it unless you can get the kink out. The way you apply it, ashley does this in an easy to under video. Use it with oil, not on the bare skin. We oiled up jamie ice skin. For three to five minutes per zone and there are like 29 areas in the body and you can do this for yourself. How much pressure . I cant quantify, but you have to get in there hard enough. My arms are really sore from yesterday at work, and this isnt i can bare this. It isnt too bad. This is great. Ashley basically says that you can expect and anticipate bruising. It is not abnormal to do that. She has a regimen for before and after. Is there anybody who shouldnt do this . Not really, no. Really . Some people with a low pain threshold. What about foam rolling . Interestingly, we do advice before and after exercise. I think it is great to sort of destress the muscles so to speak. People who really believe in the philosophy of facia blasting dont believe in foam rolling. They say it compresses more. Rather, you want to get in there and loosen things up. I dont know. I have to tell you, this is another example of one of these segments that we do that i feel like could apply to so many, certainly of my patients, and people at home. Everybody with chronic tension and pain and things like that. Ive got to get one. Do it yourself. There are certainly therapists who are trained in this kind of therapy.
