But he didnt do it for three and half years. We are living in hell. We have the palestinians and everybody else rioting elevated place. You talk about charlottesville, this is a hundred, a thousand times charlottesville. The whole country is exploding because of you because they dont respect you. They have to respect their president , and they dont respect you throughout the world. What we did was incredible. We rebuilt the military. We got the largest tax cut in history. The largest regulation cut in history. The reason hes got jobs is because i cut the regulations and gave jobs, that hes putting a lot of those regulations back on. All of the things we have done, nobody has ever seen anything like it. Even from the medical standpoint, the right to try, where we can try spaceage materials instead of going to asia or going to europe and trying to get when you are terminally ill, now you can go and get something. You sign a document, theyve been trying to get it for 42 years. What we did for the military, incredible choice for our soldiers. Instead of waiting three months to see a doctor, can go out and get themselves fixed up and readied up and take care of themselves, and they are living. Thats why i had the highest Approval Rating in the history of the va. We are a failing nation, but its not going to be failing anymore. We are going to make it great again. Dana thank you, former President Trump. President biden, stay with us, because we have full analysis of this debate. Anderson cooper and Aaron Burnett start now on cnn. Shannon and they have it, the first debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump now in the books. You are looking now at the spin room where surrogates and campaigns will head next to continue this conversation, this debate. First we want to get right to the action here in washington. Jason chaffetz and Richard Fowler still with me. Richard, i will start with you. It was a bit of a shaky start for the president. He seemed to get his stride. What you make it what you see . It was definitely a shaky start for the president , but in the end he did talk about what he wanted to do in the future, which i think is how the American People will end up voting in this election. Donald trump told you a lot about what he did when he was president for his first two years, joe biden talked about what he wants to do in the future. Like i said at the beginning of the show, he wants to extend insulin coverage shall americans dont act on mike to, the homeowner credit is in everything he wants to do. How we continue to get better in this election thats how folks will vote. I think President Trump will expand his lead. I think the mental and physical capacity of joe biden was far worse than i thought it was going to be. He is declining, and rapidly. I cant foresee him going through four more years. Anybody just watch the tape, they can make the decision themselves. But i think trump expands his lead, donald trump exceeded expectations. His command of the facts, and biden, it was scary how out of shape he was to be the president of the united states. Shannon we will see if these two meet up for the next planned debate, but the first one is in the books. Richard and jason, thank you very much for your analysis tonight. That wraps up our coverage for tonight. Much more analysis this sunday on fox news sunday. I will see you then. Good night for now. We are going to take you back to your local fox nation. Live as corey cook. Hes the provost vice provost there at saint marys. Okay, corey, your overall reactions, impressions of what you saw tonight between President Biden and former President Donald Trump . Yeah. So im not sure tonight convince anybody. I realize that the debate had been sort of billed as the most consequential in american history. I dont think well have that effect. I think you know, viewers who had concerns about donald trump, who are thinking maybe they would support him, didnt get a lot of policy specifics. They didnt get a vigorous defense of his term in office. I dont know that they have a reason now to vote for him. I think for democrats who are concerned about President Biden, i think they have reason to be concerned. Still after tonight, he didnt come out in a way that was forceful. He stumbled quite a bit early on with his words. He got much stronger as the debate went on, but i think those first few minutes when he didnt tackle the economy question or the abortion question, particularly well, i think its concerning to democrats. Yeah President Bidens delivery really, at times seemed to be mangled, and it was difficult to understand what he was saying. Yeah. So i understand hes coming off a cold. He had difficulty obviously, with his initially getting his footing. When the debate turned to President Trumps record. Certainly the questions around january 6th, the Foreign Policy questions, you can see he grew much more comfortable as the night went on again, first term president s and their first debates often really struggle. Coming out of their presidency. Its not what president s do. And so we saw that with president obama in his first debate. We certainly saw that in President Trump when he was then debating. And i think we saw it tonight that President Biden was not comfortable in this setting. He certainly got better. He certainly got stronger. But those first few minutes of the debate, i think there are a lot of democrats who are wondering, is he up for it . And it was it was difficult, particularly when the issue was around abortion, which is the top issue democrats have going into this, this election that he didnt, you know, just hit that out of the park, i think raises some concerns. Okay. Who really quickly corey who claims victory tonight. Well i think everybody will claim victory right i think i think President Biden will say that when trump was talking about his record in office, his defense of january 6th, those things do not are not compelling to independent voters. And so hell certainly say, you know, President Trump could not defend his record in office. I think President Trump will say he was the more forceful looking candidate that biden stumbled early on in the debate. And hell point to that. And so i think both sides will claim victory. I think what were going to see is that, again, a lot of its a long way till the election. And so voters now will get to make up their minds. I dont know that this debate moved the needle, but again, i think folks who worried that maybe President Trump couldnt tack to the middle, he did not tack to the middle. I think folks who are worried that President Biden couldnt convince voters maybe of his forcefulness, i think he didnt do that tonight. And so i think both candidates really had difficulty assuring voters that theyre the right candidate. Yeah. And more debates to come. Corey cook, always appreciate your analysis. Thank you. So much. All right. We are going to move on now to another story that is making news tonight. And that is in west oakland. Firefighters really spending the day working to contain a warehouse fire. It broke out just last night around 10 00 at Pacific Supply company there on 24th. And wood the fire it burned so hot and the flames and smoke were so intense that firefighters had to ask east bay mud to actually boost the water pressure in the area to attack the fire. Residents in the area are still advised to keep their windows closed until the end of the hour, due to the plumes of smoke, firefighters say most of the smoke visible today. Its really due to the material that was burning under a collapsed metal roof. Good news here though, no one was hurt and the fire did not spread to any nearby buildings. By the way, the cause is under investigation. Well, as crew members there were putting out that massive fire. Many learned that a coworker had died in southern california. The Oakland Fire Department says that 25 year old firefighter paramedic caden laffin was with fellow firefighters in san diego for the annual california firefighter summer games. Friends say laffin decided to take a late night swim, and then they saw him get swept away. His body washed ashore just hours later. It was very difficult call to the chief covington up there in oakland, all firefighters are part of our family. It doesnt matter what agency they work for. Sadly, this is the second loss for the laffin family in just the past five years. Cadens father, sean, also a firefighter, died in 2020 of a heart attack while in the line of duty. Fire Officials Say alcohol may have been a factor in cadens drowning. The oakland fire chief says he and the family are working with authorities to bring the young mans body home.
