A violent california road rage incident caught on camera. And the dance of a lifetime for one very special springsteen fan. First look starts right now. Good morning. Im dara brown. It was a tumultuous thursday beginning with mitt romney slamming the man poised to be the 2016 pick. Hes not of thor the perment of the stable, thoughtful person we need to be the leader. Think of his bullying, the greed. The showing off. The misogyny. The absurd third grade theatrics. Donald trump is a phony. A fraud. His promises are as worthless as the degree from trump university. And from 2008 nominee john mccain backing his friend romney, i would also echo the many concerns about mr. Trumps uninformed and dangerous statements on National Security issues that have been raised by 65 defense and Foreign Policy leaders. Romneys rebuke teed up the first question for the donald to hit back. He was a failed candidate. He should have beaten president obama very easy. He failed miserably. An it was an embarrassment to everybody including the Republican Party. He went it looked like he went away on the vacation the last month. So i dont take that and i guess obviously he wants to be relevant, he wants to be back in the game. Trump even hit back defending his manhood against senator rubios small hands insult. He hit my hands, nobody has ever hit my hands. I never heard of this one. Look at those hands, are they small hands . And he referred to my hands if theyre small, Something Else must be small. I guarantee you theres no problem. I garn tee you. Later, jacob rascon found the donald comparing hand sizes with an entertainment reporter that much anticipated reunion between donald trump and megyn kelly was cordial and rubio and ted cruz battled up for an attack on the trump university. When they realized what a scam it was, they asked for the money back and you refused to give the money pack. Let me just give the money back. If we nominate donald well spend the spring and the fall with the nominee facing a fraud trial. And john kasich highlighted his accomplishments in ohio. When we talk about this theres one person on this stage and one person whos been a candidate for president in either party that restored economic strength, growth, a balanced budget, paid down debt, cut taxes the things that people in this country want. No theories. Reality. Thank you. Trump edged out his opponents online. Well hear more from mitt romney in an exclusive interview only on today. Chuck grassley has become a bigger target for democrats in the fight to fill the Supreme Court vacancy. Jenner said lets say he goes on to become president and i have all my girls on a transissues board to advise him on making decisions when it comes to transissues. Isnt that a good idea . No word on the offer from the cruz campaign. And dr. Ben carsons campaign winds down, jimmy kimmel read a story to help ease it to rest. In ben carsons bedroom, there is a phone and a red balloon. And ben and jesus jumping over the moon. Good night, lion, good night crab, good night friend he tried to stab. Good night tree, good night stump. Good night america because here comes trump. That is your morning dish of scrambled politics. In washington im joined now by politico reporter kevin robillard. Good morning to you. Good morning. Great to be on. It was a real busy nice last night and i was watching the debate, saying the candidates would back trump, but not so in the campaign. What does this say about the state of the gop . Well, you have to remember, you have to go back to last fall. The candidates signed a pledge to back whoever the gop nominee is which was intended to keep trump from running as a third party. But now its sort of backfiring on the republicans because they have to say whether if theyll support him in the fall. Clearly theres still huge divides over what factcally exactly to do with donald trump. They have two options. They can embrace him or run away from him, try to stop him at a convention. Something like that. But clearly, this is challenging the Republican Party over its own identity. And over what it means to be a conservative. And those are two very, very Big Questions at the republican that the Republican Party has to wrestle with. And donald trump may not win all the delegates he needs to get the nomination and that could be a contested convention. What are the odds . Thats something that political reporters we like to bring up every four years and it never happens. This year it appears to be more plausible than others. Really, thats what mitt romney was calling for yesterday in the speech if you look at what he suggests to block trump. He basically says if you live in a state where rubio is leading in the polls like florida, you need to vote for rubio. If you live in state say louisiana where cruz is doing better in the polls, vote for cruz. The idea being just to deny Trump Delegates as much as you can so then we get to the convention and try to fix this. And really that seems to be the republican establishments plan at the moment. Is to just you know, dont let trump get a majority and well figure it out at the convention. How is this all this gop bickering working for or against Hillary Clinton now . Is this turning off voters or do you think maybe theyll flock to the polls . It will be interesting. The actual gop bickering, the party will probably unite in the end. But trump obviously helps Hillary Clinton or at least people think he does in terms of, you know, basically giving democrats something to hate because they dont particularly like her all that much. Kevin, we may see sooner rather than later. Kevin robillard, thank you for your time. Good to be on. Well, just ahead, some sad news about Bernie Sanders minime.
