St. Marys enstalled sprinklerinstalled sprinklers. Some say it was to shoe away Homeless People who tended to camp out on the stairs. Water would douse them every hour. It prompted a backlash some calling it inhumane. The cathedral says its turning off the water works for good. The bishop himself, calling the sprinklers ill conceived and notes the church cares for hundreds of Homeless People. That surprised me when i read about that t. Church is usually so so good about welcoming people with stories of helping, giving a hot meal. It seems to send the message of what they want to send. Would that you want to install that . Advocates for the homeless were not contents. Lets move on. At what age were you the happiest . Right now. Right now. Okay. Well there is new research for women the happiest days typically on average 34yearsold. In fact there is a whole new time line when the average woman reaches certain milestones in her life t. Daily mile compiled it based on a bunch of studies. What is the age that most women have their first kiss . Kiss . Age of a first kiss. 13. 14. 15. Manu dhingra dengue. Thank you, i know my ladies. You know who you are. Those who leave the toilet paper in the under position and those who leave it in the over position. Okay. So pretty touchy topic in some homes. Finally an answer to the age old debate of over or under. All right. It dates back to 1891. Its a patent for toilet paper roll that you can clearly see the roll is in the over position. Exactly. We need an orange room survey on this. I think the average person just puts it in there. I think its a sensitive subject. Really . It is. I like over. I definitely like the under position. Its not something i care about. If asked, i have to say over. Matt has a whole theory. It looks neater tiedier. At what point do you change that stuff or leave it for the next person . Its not nice to do that. We settled nothing. We have been trending ourselves a lot recently you might know. We have been the target of several pranks by a young lady named Ellen Degeneres. I vowed i would get revenge and the moment has finally arrived. If there is one thing nobody likes, its having one pulled over on you, particularly when its the same person again and again. I was really surprised to see what he had in his dressing room. I really was. Here we go. And again. I understand. Thats perfect. Whats worse, when your coworkers and friends fall victim to the same ridicule. Oh, no. By that same person. Aahh oh my god again and again. You have to tell me about this. Well that ends today. The pants are back on. Exactly. Its about finding ways to make the best use of your space. In the laundry room sometimes people forget. Its the laundry room. We are trying to show you how to reuse Old Furniture to create a natural work space for your laundry. This is an armoir we cleaned it up painted it. It works perfectly. Where you put the tv would be a perfect folding station. Tuck that away. I put chalkboard paint inside to leave messages for a husband wife. You can have a turn table, a lazy susan and put your products on there, hooks on the side for your ironing board. Its cute. Is this what your laundry room looks like . This is a perfect solution for somebody that doesnt have a lot of space and you want to get things tucked away. We have examples on the screen to add a work station as well. You can take your washer and dryer and throw wood on the top. That looks good. This is reclaimed wood. Depending on what your room looks like i always want to have a folding space. Have you to have a folding pace. You can stack, too, the washer dryer. If its a front loader its 1,500 bucks to get a stacking kit. You request put a table next to it. Is eight table or a piece of wood . This is built in. It goes side to side and framed in. You dont want to see empty gaps next to your appliances to make it look custom it will cost you maybe 100 bucks. You can fold out a table and table countertop use it for prep fold. They have a picture of that. Amazing. A lot of people have laundry rooms in the basement. You feel like you are going to the dungeon. We say soften it up. Brighten it up a little. You can divide it off with curtains or actually put some pooim pipe on the outside wall. You can have the curtains run along the outside wall. Then you have it in one room. Exactly. This is a lot more Cost Effective than building a wall. If it is ugly brick or cinder wall put curtains across in front of it. You can run this curtain along an entire basement wall. You dont have to do the drywall, the muding. The last solution get an old ladder. Same thing. Attach it to the wall. Undo the chains. It comes down level. This is a hanging rack. Somebody cant get down on the fire escape jonathan cut the ladder off it. He had these, he wanted to hang some things. By the way, who got pranked yesterday . We both got pranked. He fell for it. Absolutely. Oh you son of a gun. Willie gets you back. What did you do . Wait until he goes into his dressing room today . Really hes never going to know when its coming. You are going down willie. You cant leave out the bread. Its life. Exactly. What is our first recipe . We will make a bread salad t. Thing aboutdayold bread is it gets better with age, especially with this recipe. It somes up the ingredients and gets a nice tex cure. Yeah. So we start with bread thats chopped up and sauted. Oh you sauted it. Throw it in the oven. Will you be the chef . Of course. So i will teach you. So for bread salad, we have fresh cut tomatos and cucumbers, which i decided to ribbon. I think with the chopped cucumber theyre almost too watery. So this leaves out the seeds. Red onion and basil. Top that in there . This is the kind of cook i like to do. Okay. So now lets put in arugulia. What you like. We will make a savannah style recipe. I might take this home. This looks good. The homemade vinaigrette, which is olive oil, red wine vig gar vinegar and garlic. I like homemade dressing as opposed to store bought. Its a lot more flavorful. Any time you make this. That dressing is amazing. Its like. I know you are impressing. Okay. Next we have garlic bread. This is roasted garlic. Okay. Go ahead and put the butter in. Wait. Where . All the butter in here. Oh my god. All the butter parts. This is going on the bread . All right. This is homemade butter from the book and roasted garlic which you squeeze in. And it just kind of gives eight more rustic taste that way. Yeah. Then mix it altogether. Mix it altogether. Add a little chili flake. Thats what i do. Oh x yum. I like it spicy. Mix it up. There you go. You spread it on. Sure throw it in the oven. Okay. Great. As i do that you want to tell me the next one looks like bruscetta. I never worked in an italian restaurant. This is the toasteddayold bread. Which is vegan and gluten free. You dont have to use this recipe necessarily. Its tomato basil, garlic. A little salt and pepper. Olive oil. I should have asked you in the beginning. Can you make it homemade . Can you do these recipes using rustic bread . This one is super easy to make. Its easy as making batter. Erin thank you so much. I wish you could see, shes using these cute knee high socks. Ill tweet it. We tested this gluten free bread at home on diedtoday. Com. Check that out. There are heated arguments on stage between you and your costar bill nye. Yes. Is chemistry as important in scenes with arguments as it is in perhaps a romantic comedy . Yeah i think so. Especially on stage, you have to be listening to each other. Thats what chemistry on stage is people are listening to each other the story comes across well. The audience is engaged in what you are doing. We are working on our chemistry. We are good on the other side. He writes an argument in the way you wish you had, you know afterwards an argument i wish i had said that. Like he writes that. Thats incredibly satisfying. I have to call them back. Natalie as you noticed is off this week. She will be back next week. We have to answer a lot of questions when it comes to Peanut Butter are you creamy or chunky . Tamron was having a spoonful of Peanut Butter. A spoonful. You said creamy or chunky . No only creamy. Im chunky. I go back and forth. If im making a Peanut Butter and banana sandwich smooth. On a spoonful its chunky. You get a little extra in there. Like when i was a kid, when you wore braces you had that chunky you can go back up in there. Especially on two periods after lunch. Digging up in there. Kumpgy you have to chew. Creamy is you are not willing to clue . In other words, you like all your foods smooth is that the deal . Pretty much. I can eat it faster. It goes faster. Okay. So let us know. Hashtag creamy. Hashtag clunky. Hunky. All right. Yvonne said thats right, creamy Peanut Butter Almond Butter for me. Whatever will start the email off with thats right. We can take this on further, jelly or jam . No, no no. Hashtag creamy or chunky. In other pressing issues. Already in the orange room america is weighing in. This is a big story, president obama, interesting to see what people think about this. He was speaking to a group in cleveland yesterday was asked how we as a country can offset campaign and politics and fixing the figure problem of low voter turnout. In australia, and other countries, its mandatory. It would be transformative if everybody voted. That would counteract money more than anything. So in the 2012 president ial Election Voter turnout was just under 62 . But last fall in the midterms, we had the worst turnout since the 1940s. Fewer than 37 of americans eligible to vote did so in the midterm elections. Its obviously a problem. I dont think id go as far as mandatory voting. Other countries do it. Some do. I didnt say all. Australia, thats a big one. But its this is a right and you should exercise. You shouldnt be made to. I think you reserve the right not to vote few dont like the candidates. And that may be why there was such a low voter turnout. I think its also scheduling. Its on a weekday. I think at least the president ial elections should be a National Holiday. So at least every four years, people can take off, less traffic. When you think about it working, dropping your kids off. A second job. All these things that factor into your weekday already. Yes, its a responsibility to vote. But you are also responsible to get to work and juggle that. My vote is National Holiday at least for president ial. You watch that movie selma. You are reminded of what people black and white went through in this country to try to secure Voting Rights. The things that people did, a little inconvenience on our part today, i dont know is an excuse not to go vote. I get it. I think also why not make it easier . I mean if you can and i know that if we did every election as a holiday, that would affect the holiday and people would take off and not vote. Why not the president ial election . Registration should be easier not mandatory, so says me. So says this new study, if you are having trouble gaining weight it may but can blame it on the food network and cooking channel. And to a lesser extent bravo. Studies show the more you watch these shows, the more weight you gain. So they say fatening recipes over and over again, they tend to think these are normal healthy recipes. They go and make them. So kornell university studied this said people are gaining weight. You watch a ton of these shows. We get up so early on the morning on the weekend, your body wakes you up. I go through whatever is in my refrigerator. I go through the dinners and wlun lunches. Its like i am a bare foot contestant my queen, my angel. She takes a scoop, mm mm im like yeah i need it i need it now. What . No im listening. What . No . You blame ida . No i wouldnt blame her. I noticed you have been getting a little chunky its a joke. Were joking. Doesnt it make you hungry . It makes you hungry. But in an exciting way. I am excited about food. There are few things that make me more excited. Eddie murphy has this joke he talks about the girl you take on the date that eats the salad. I am not that girl. I get down. I dont care i will eat a burger. It can drip down my arm. Hey, this is me. Im a food person. But you dont buy it . You know, i think no. You are not enticed like when you see food you dont get like aah . I dont run out and start making those dishes necessarily. Im still cooking for a family. I dont know. Like i love everything about the thing at the top of the list your cooking. Like you cook for your kids almost every night. That steak you made for us on the show i mean there with is like but we portion it out. We dont have the whole steak. What im saying is for us you would have been having steak. We well the three of us. My daughter is vegan. So you are saying portion. I dont know about a portion. Im saying no we have something good in there something good. Oh yes this is incredible. The stars of hgtc the Property Brothers drew and jonathan are back. Im happy to say peace now has broken out between us. We decided to take the Higher Ground and continue with the segment. I am sure there is nothing planned. Putting aside your differences, we do have a message for you, dont move improve. Here to kick up our home without looking for a few place. You say you can do anything. You can paint on your eyebrows and your abs, why not paint on your house a bit. Everyone thinks you paint the exterior of the home itself. You can paint the light fixtures too, theyre old, ugly look at them as brandnew and painted. Dont do it the keep way where they tape off the wall andplay spray it in place. Take it apart, spray it properly and stick it back on. Is there a special kind of painted . A metallic paint. It will help seal it. The more time you spend on the prep the less with cleanup. Uv protection as well. It will be out in the elements. Not just the lights as well. Buyers say the most impressive thing is the front door. Have some impact. Make a statement. If you have something thats not impressive. A lot of times it will be an old security gate you dont need i love here they had a security gate and two glass windows. So thats one example. Same thing, if you have a door thats fought really that impressive. You be its a beautiful home make a big statement, paint the surround. You can match it up. Or an old kick plate you can swap that out. Its dressing around a space, get a potted planted, get color and a nice door mat that says welcome. Its so inviting. Audience participation part. You will get your hands dirty. Watch out now. Willie stand below that bucket. Perfect. If you have a driveway and cracks in your driveway theyre easy to reveal it. There are several Different Things t. Biggest thing is to prep it and clean it properly. If you do have cracks go ahead, you can take that. The thicker the crack the thicker consistency you need for it. Pour it in. Fill the cracks and the very last step you will flatten that out and paint it any color that you want. The finished surface will look clean and brandnew. This is the same crack already sealed. Now, that was fun. I can feel my heart beating in my chest. That is the way you should feel your whole life. A little taste of the movie that comes out in july. We have to wait to see the rest. Talk about this film a little bit. I see some similarities teen characters. Theyre smart, kind of wise in a lot of ways. How is this different, though from that book and that movie . Its a story about all different kind of love not just romantic friendships and how special they can be in high school. Its much funnier with stars which had some sad parts. So thats a different vibe as well. Where do you find the voice, though . You nailed teenagers. They relate to these characters you write. Do you have an inner teen in you . Maybe. I do think a lot about adolescence. I think the emotions of it. Of falling in love for the first time experiencing grief for the first time. Asking Big Questions about the meaning of life for the first time. Those things dont really change. Like the music they listen to change. But those core experiences dont change. I try to tap into those. Can you tap into something that makes it relatable not just to teenagers, but around our age group as well. Inside congratulations. They might cut you out of this one. Usually i find it like this and like that. I like it under because then you can twirl it. Hoda we have been through this. It has been said. When you go to a public restroom and you cant find the bottom and you have to go under while you are sitting . Meredith pointed out that they do that on purpose because they dont want you wasting it. They make it hard to find. I dont like that someones hands have been on the whole roll when you are pulling it down for your piece. I never thought of that. Bring your own. If it were in her bag along with her bowling ball in her purse. Do what hoda does. [ laughter ] fallon last night. There has been a picture floating around that we want to explain to you today. Serious, sometimes fatal events including infections, tuberculosis, lymphoma, other cancers, nervous system and Blood Disorders, and allergic reactions have occurred. Before starting enbrel, your doctor should test you for tuberculosis and discuss whether youve been to a region where certain fungal infections are common. You should not start enbrel if you have an infection like the flu. Tell your doctor if youre prone to infections, have cuts or sores, have had hepatitis b, have been treated for heart failure, or if you have symptoms such as persistent fever, bruising bleeding, or paleness. Finally, clearer skin for more than a few days, weeks or months. Enbrel works for me.
