We got on the chair lift the first time. Thats actually the hardest thing to do. It really is, actually. And hes thrilled that hes able to get on the chair lift. This isnt the first time hes been out skiing, though. In fact, hes skied before in his life. So for ten years he was unable to, because of back surgery that damaged his left leg. Thats awesome. With my left leg. Heres the thing, seven months ago that left leg was amputated. He now has a prosthetic and he decided it was now or never to get back on the slope ready to go. And we can see his leg in the boot. We felt like without the leg up or the sleeve up, nobody would believe that hes actually an amputee. So now youll be regaining the respect. I love it. And its his son recording this and kind of guiding him back to skiing. And you can see that hes excited. However, nervous. He does think this is a day of firsts, the first day on the list, the first day on his skis. And the first time hes done this because even though he does better than expected, he still has a little moment. Some of us wish we could ski like that. True. He did share his experiences through the whole process on his Facebook Page with his family. You can see him in crutches without his leg. You see everyone lifting up their legs. What a cute family. Its got to feel so good for him to get back out there and get fresh air, be with your son. He does it and figures it out. If they would have let the pant leg down, you would have never known.
