A collapsed road here washed away in the city of brenan. This is one example of the roads washed away after the damage here after relentless rain and flash flooding. The focus this morning is shifting southeast as a tropical depression threatens the holiday weekend. Reporter all eyes on the southeast. Will it make landfall . Possibly or hug the coast. For folks at the beaches, this could lead to dangerous rip currents. It will strengthen into a Tropical Storm. It will make landfall at some point between charleston, South Carolina and myrtle beach. Then it will turn and go out to sea. It will pump moisture in the northeast. Especially the interior northeast where we could see 1 to 3 inches of rainfall. In new york city, we could see spotty showers early monday morning. We are watching the storms through the plains. We are clearing out of texas. We do still have the chance of some isolated stronger storms. It is a marginal risk from the great lakes through texas. It could be spotty. Isolated damaging winds and hail. Something went wrong. The plane circled and smoked and then crashed in the hudson river. The moment of impact caught on tape. All of a sudden, it hit the water and in seconds it went down. A Good Samaritan from a passing sailboat jumped into the river to help, but unfortunately, the one seater plane went under quickly. The search for the pilot went through the night. Causing confusion for the rescuers and public. New Jersey State Police put something out he was on the way to the hospital. Thats inaccurate. I have a really small, but strong family. As a little girl, stephanie was the quintessential tom boy. My sister called me and right after my freshman year, i studied in guatemala and kenya. It was incredible. I first met stephanie in the Training Program at creditswiss. Our jobs out of college. The bishop married us. I want to turn around and say every person here means and they did. A man is expected to be okay after he was stabbed on a metro bus last night. Metro Transit Police say a woman stabbed a man on a bus in Silver Spring after he spit and punched her. Well, we are learning more about another disturbing crime that started at a metro station in montgomery county. Court documents accuse 25yearld robbing a teenager, a teenage boy, at the bethesda metro station forcing him to get on a train and sexually assaulting him inside the chevy chase pavilion in friendship heights. This happened monday. Metro riders say more should be done to alert people. How did we not hear about these things when they happened . How did we not hear about the rape we learned about earlier this week until six weeks after it happened . Metro says the teen did not report the assault right way which is why there was that delay getting that information out.
