Kishan Reddy has announced that the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has given “in principle approval” for the construction of the 340 km ‘Regional Ring Road’ (RRR) around the twin cities, about 30-50 km away from the existing Outer Ring Road (ORR), to be build at an estimated cost of ₹17,000 crore. ....

Will make electric vehicles mandatory for officials of my dept: Gadkari

In a bid to encourage the use of electric vehicles rather than those running on petrol and diesel, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Friday said he will make electric vehicles mandatory for officials of his department.
His remarks came during the launch of the Go Electric campaign to spread awareness on the benefits of e-mobility and EV Charging Infrastructure as well as electric cooking in India.
If 10,000 electric vehicles are brought into use in Delhi, then about Rs 30 crores per month spent on fuel can be saved and it will reduce pollution. I will make electric vehicles mandatory for officials of my department, he said. ....

The Indian government has made it mandatory for all vehicles to use FASTag, an electronic toll collection, starting midnight of February 15. All lanes in the fee plazas on National Highways will be declared as FASTag lane of the fee plaza from the midnight of February 15, as per the guideline issued by the Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways on Sunday. ....
