New Delhi, May 20 (IANS) With RBI making mobile wallet interoperability mandatory from FY23, the non-bank (prepaid payment instruments) PPI issuers or the digital wallets has been brought at par with traditional bank accounts in terms of services offered with the move enabling much wider usage and penetration of digital payments in the country, experts have opined.

The Government Secondary Teachers Association (GSTA) has demanded immediate payment of salaries to the teachers in Karachi and other districts of Sindh who have been deprived of their salaries for the past nine years.
The GSTA had said that if their demands were not fulfilled, the association would use all other options, including strike, according to the statement issued by the association. A protest was demonstrated at the Government Boys Secondary School, District West, and GSTA Central General Secretary Abdul Hafeez Mehr, senior leader Masood Al Hassan, GSTA Karachi Division President Anwar Din Memon, Karachi West President Allah Bachaio Lakho, General Secretary Nordin Mastoi, Manghopir Taluka President Shafi Muhammad Channa, General Secretary Abdul Jabbar Baloch participated in the protest. ....

A receipt is evidence enough for a tax authority to ascertain the price of an item and subsequent assessment of tax, the Tax Appeals Tribunal (TAT) has ruled.
In a ruling delivered by Dr Asa Mugenyi, the chairman of the Tax Appeals Tribune, Dr Stephen Akabway and Mr Siraji Ali, both members of the Tribune, it was concluded that a receipt, which shows details of payment is conclusive evidence to determine what is contained in a purchase order and invoice. ....
