Greater Grand Forks Young Professionals launch 'Orange Bag Event' to support local charity efforts

The Greater Grand Forks Young Professionals is sponsoring the Orange Bag Event to gather housewares, clothing and personal care products for 10 local nonprofit organizations. Volunteers will drop off orange bags at hundreds of homes from Friday through Tuesday, April 9-13, for people to fill with household and clothing items and return May 1.

In a Monday news release, Kathryn Kester, GGFYP executive director, said $1,900 has been raised, which surpasses the group’s anticipated goals. In addition to a free meal from Smiling Moose Deli, health department workers will receive a $20 gift card from a locally owned business of their choice.
