President's rule imposed in Puducherry after Congress govt loses trust vote

President s Rule was imposed in Puducherry following a recommendation by the Union Cabinet after a Congress-led government lost power in the Union Territory in a vote of confidence.
The notification, signed by President Ram Nath Kovind, said the decision was taken after the president received a report from the administrator of the Union Territory of Puducherry on February 22.
It said after considering the report and other information received by him, the president was satisfied that a situation had arisen in which the administration of the Union Territory of Puducherry could not carry on in accordance with the provisions of the Government of Union Territories Act, 1963 (20 of 1963). ....

Nava Bharat Ventures surges on buyback plan

Nava Bharat Ventures soared 11.75% to Rs 65.6 after the company said its board will consider a share buyback on 26 February 2021.In a BSE filing made on Tuesday (23 February), the company said that its board will meet on Friday, 26 February 2021, to consider the proposal for buyback of equity shares.
Nava Bharat Ventures has presence in ferro alloys, power, mining, agribusiness and healthcare services.
On a consolidated basis, the company posted a 168% jump in net profit to Rs 161.79 crore on a 29.5% rise in net sales to Rs 660.13 crore in Q3 FY21 over Q3 FY20.

PM Modi reviews projects worth Rs 44,545 crore in 'Pragati' meeting

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Wednesday reviewed projects worth Rs 44,545 crore in 12 states as he chaired the 36th Pragati meeting.
During the meeting, he also reviewed the programme for elimination of single use plastic, a Prime Minister s Office statement said.
In the meeting, 10 agenda items were taken up for review including eight projects, grievance relating to one scheme and one programme, it said.
Among the eight projects, three were from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, two from Railway Ministry, one each from Ministry of Power, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Ministry of Home Affairs.
These eight projects, with a cumulative cost of about Rs 44,545 crore, pertained to 12 states West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Jharkhand, Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh, Mizoram, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Meghalaya, the PMO said. ....
