Sega has released a new trailer for Total War Warhammer 3 (after accidentally releasing a low quality version of it a little earlier today), setting the scene for the epic battles that fans can expect to cap off the cross-over trilogy of games. With the forces of Chaos threatening to consume the world, the frigid lands of Kislev and their hardened warriors brace themselves to repel the invaders, acting as a bulwark for the rest of the world.

The trailer shows off plenty of new units that we can expect to see, with the melee focussed forces of Khorne invading. Arrayed against them are the armies of Kislev (inspired by Russia, obviously), riding bears into battle. It all comes to a head as a towering demon leaps into battle with a gigantic elemental ice bear, before giving us a glimpse of the Realms of Chaos.

One of the most exciting revelations in the recent Total War: Warhammer 3 announcement trailer was that Grand Cathay, the Warhammer world’s analogue of China, would be a launch race in the upcoming strategy game.
This is a big deal. Cathay has existed in Warhammer since at least 1984, when it was mentioned in the lore book for the tabletop game’s second edition, and in the almost 30 years since a steady trickle of further details has accumulated to give a decent sense of its armies and its culture, as we’ll discover. But despite this, Grand Cathay – canonically the largest human nation in the world – has never had an official army book. Even official
Creative Assembly have released a trailer for the latest game in their
Total Warhammer series, which is planned for release later this year.
Total War: Warhammer III will mark the final game in the series, has been running since its original release in 2016.
The grand strategy game focuses on battles between the various factions from Game’s Workshop
Warhammer Fantasy setting. The final instalment will give players the chance to play as one of the four ruinous powers: “Nurgle, the plague god; Slaanesh, the lord of excess; Tzeentch, the changer of ways; and Khorne, the god of blood and slaughter.”
