There are four issues. revenue, entitlements, defense, discretionary. let's take revenue. it doesn't raise revenue. in fact it cuts taxes from current law by $4.6 trillion over the next ten years. it puts us backwards. entitlements. medicare, social security, nothing for ten years. those two programs together in the base law will cost 17.4 trillion and the ryan plan cuts 0.002%. it simply whiffs on entitlements. defense. it raises defense compared to the current baseline and embraces what the president has proposed. it's clear we don't need an $800 billion defense and national security program...
