2-Year-Old Reunited With Buzz Lightyear Toy, Lost On Southwest Flight | KISS 106.7

By Sam Rosalie
Michelle Mathieu sent me this story about 2-year-old, Hagen.
He had just gotten off a flight with his parents, and was looking for his Buzz Lightyear toy (which is his most treasured possession, he even wrote his name on Buzz’s foot, just like Andy did in the movie Toy Story!) UNFORTUNATELY, mom realized it must have been left behind when they got off the flight!
Mom told Hagen that Buzz was on a special mission and would soon be back, AKA mom was going to run to Target and replace the toy without him knowing. What mom didn’t know, was Buzz REALLY WAS on a special mission!

Of the 20 choices, Mashed Potatoes topped the list, with 84% of Americans picking it as their favorite.
That was followed by French Fries and Hamburgers.

CASE you missed it... National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day
Although it only requires three ingredients (bread, cheese, and butter), grilled cheese is one of the most popular comfort foods in the world.
For example, did you know that the Ancient Romans were the first civilization to make a cooked bread and cheese sandwich? TRUTH! Still, many cultures have invented their own take on this ancient dish. In France, people enjoy Croque Monsieur (a grilled ham and cheese sandwich) while in Switzerland, they melt the cheese and toast the bread
separatelybefore combining them.
As for the classic American grilled cheese, the sandwich emerged in the 1920s when inexpensive cheese and affordable sliced bread became available. It’s now a staple in cafés, diners, and school cafeterias across the country!

Carson Time Capsule... Monday, April 12th.

Apr 12, 2021
In the time capsule today…
We find the first episode of “The New Price is Right” on daytime television starring Northwesterner Bob Barker. Since that time over 9,000 episodes have aired, making it the longest running game show in TV history.
We find mens hairstyles getting longer, and apparently in need of special products, like a hot comb with a water misting button from Remmington.
And we find a song on the radio by Bill Withers. Bill grew up in the coal mining town of Slab Fork, West Virginia. After moving to Los Angeles he found himself missing the close community of his hometown… and penned "Lean On Me."

Nicholas Bubeck started making toy airplanes as an arts and crafts project at the beginning of the pandemic and put together kits for other kids to make their own. It's now been a year since he started "Creations by Nicholas" and Bubeck has sold nearly a thousand DIY kits.
They come with popsicle sticks, bottle caps and other materials to build the plane. He also sells a paint-your-own pilot kit. And a dollar from every sale goes to the Triple Heart Foundation, which donates books to NICUs across the country.

Portland's Look Inside Vision Zero | 106.7 The Eagle

Apr 10, 2021
The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) introduced the Vision Zero dashboard, a new tool to help Portlanders better understand and track the bureau's efforts to eliminate deaths and serious injuries from Portland streets.
The new dashboard gives a visually rich snapshot of the variety of quantifiable street improvements, speed limit changes, educational events, and other efforts underway across the city to achieve the goal of zero traffic deaths. It answers some of the most common questions PBOT receives about the city's Vision Zero work. And it will be updated quarterly, so the public can see the latest information throughout the year, without waiting for annual reports.
