CARSON CITY â During Wednesdayâs public federal Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) meeting, the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services says it learned that a Nevadan was one of the six reported serious reactions to the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.
The state of Nevada was not informed of the reported reaction until the live, public meeting on Wednesday, according to the Nevada Health Response team. At that time, it was reported that the person in Nevada is an 18-year-old woman who reported a blood clot and a hemorrhage without an immediate word of recovery.

The movement, they call the "BikeLife," has been steadily growing through social media, especially Instagram, amid the pandemic.
"We've been doing this for two years and since COVID hit, that's when a lot of people were buying bikes and coming outside," explained Roman "Chop" Delrosario who operates the Instagram account for Team Seven.

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) â The state unemployment department reports its website is still experiencing a few errors when it comes to accepting Unemployment Insurance claims.
Thursday, the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR) sent out a note stating previous issues affecting some UI claimants were still occurring.
The department also says it continues to work to resolve the problems as quickly as possible and expects the issue to be resolved in time for next weekâs claim filing.

The resort sent the following statement:
In response to the Nevada Gaming Control Boardâs clear direction to gaming companies to accelerate the vaccination of its workforce, effective April 13, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas will launch the next phase of its COVID-19 vaccination plan as a continuation of the resortâs ongoing health and safety measures. To incentivize employees to receive the vaccine as soon as possible, the resort will commit to pay upwards of $1M in total cash bonuses should 80% of the workforce receive their first dose by May 1. Employees who have yet to receive the vaccine are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the resortâs free onsite vaccination clinic. Employees who choose not to get the vaccine will be required to test weekly.

Brock is ready to get her teens vaccinated against COVID-19, but her concern will be timing.
âAs a mom of four and a parent to teens, they have busy schedules, they have school, weâre looking for convenience,â says Brock. âEverything always runs behind, itâs a few hours time to commit for one child at a time.â
Despite the concern, Brock is ready to get her family protected as soon as possible.
For other parents, theyâre choosing to hold off for now.
