continuing to see canceled flights. we just got this text from someone at the company. "southwest still canceling or severely delaying over a thousand flights daily due to crew noncompliance. as an example, this past saturday, saw 1352 cancellations delayed in dallas alone, we have over half the baggage handlers not coming into work." again, these are the people being targeted for pain by the administration. and because no one likes this works in the american media, there is not one person at cnn or msnbc who has any link to this part of the culture or these kind of people, this story is essentially going unreported. why are things not working? because the people who know how they work are being fired, or pushed to the point where they are walking off the job. so here we are at the end of october. think ahead a little bit. what is this going to look like in, say, six weeks, when the entire united states decides to get on an airplane and visit their relatives for the holidays? well, we've got tuesday's

New York Giants' 2020 NFL free-agent signings - New York Giants Blog- ESPN

NFL free agency is off and running, and we're keeping track of every major signing, trade and release of the 2021 offseason, with analysis from our NFL Nation reporters and grades from our experts. The new league year began March 17, meaning free-agent signings could be made official after that. The first round of the 2021 NFL draft begins April 29 on ESPN.
The New York Giants entered free agency this year in the midst of rebuild with plenty of needs, despite some positive signs last season. One of those needs was a No. 1 wide receiver. Check that one off. They also made a run at Leonard Floyd, but he returned to the Rams, so a dominant edge rusher will have to wait. But a backup quarterback, depth at running back and another tight end were among the positions addressed during the first week of free agency. And the Giants added to their cornerback depth by signing Adoree' Jackson on Monday.

Will New York Giants keep Colt McCoy or seek an upgrade at backup QB?

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Daniel Jones is the guy. He is the New York Giants' starting quarterback for what they hope is now and many years to come.
That much is indisputable, despite the quarterback carousel this offseason. What is uncertain is everything behind the Giants' QB1 right now, with NFL free agency opening March 17 and the 2021 NFL draft on April 29.
Colt McCoy, the Giants' backup this past season, is a free agent. Clayton Thorson and Joe Webb are the only other quarterbacks under contract. Thorson spent most of 2020 on the practice squad and Webb was brought in as a multi-positional option during a season impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

New York Giants free-agency overview: Adding a top WR or edge rusher a must

Game plan: Finding a backup for Barkley is a must, especially with him coming off a torn ACL. Gallman will likely be welcomed back at the right price after showing well in Barkley's absence. If Gallman lands elsewhere, perhaps free agent James White makes sense with his connection to the coaching staff and ability to contribute in the passing game.
WIDE RECEIVER
UFA: None
Game plan: Tate won't be returning at $8.5 million. He could be a cost-cutting casualty. C.J. Board might return as a restricted free agent. Regardless, the Giants need to find a No. 1 wide receiver. They will be monitoring the top of the market at the position closely.

Is re-signing Leonard Williams, Dalvin Tomlinson realistic for Giants?

Signing Williams and Tomlinson to long-term to deals that keep their salary-cap numbers respectable in 2021 is the only way it would work in this year's financial environment.
Williams, 26, is coming off the best season of his career (11.5 sacks), and the Giants already made a substantial commitment to acquire him. They traded multiple draft picks to the New York Jets during the 2019 season and used the franchise tag to keep him last season at $16.1 million when he was coming off a half-sack campaign.
Franchising him again at $19.4 million would hardly be cost effective, but multiple league sources believe Williams will get paid in the range of $19 million per season if he reaches free agency. Tomlinson is a "$10 million a year player," according to the executive. That would make for an expensive defensive line on a unit that is still in need of a high-end edge rusher, another traditionally pricey position.

Far from Super Bowl ready, New York Giants continue quest to rebuild

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The real work for the New York Giants begins now, six weeks after they played their final game. And there is a lot of work to be done.
The holes on the roster that translated to a six-win season (and fourth straight losing year) aren't going to fill themselves. And it won't be possible to make all the repairs in NFL free agency, or even with the help of this year's NFL draft.
The Giants are in the infantile stages of a multiyear rebuild, even if they aren't likely to admit as much publicly. Call it Year 2, maybe even 2 1/2. If the final few weeks of the 2020 season told us anything -- when they were blown out by the Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens -- it's that they're not anywhere near Super Bowl contention.

Former New York Giants safety could play key role for Bucs in Super Bowl 2021

"I guess Tom was that missing piece," Adams said. "Just needed that missing piece to go all the way."
Whitehead left the NFC Championship Game victory against the Green Bay Packers after forcing two fumbles. The Bucs' other starting safety, Antoine Winfield Jr., missed that game with an ankle injury. Both have been limited at practice this week.
With Mike Edwards starting in Winfield's place, Adams filled in admirably when Whitehead was injured in Green Bay. Even if Whitehead puts a harness on his injured shoulder and suits up for the Super Bowl as expected, it's possible he won't last four quarters.

Eli Manning Q&A: Retired Giants QB on sloppy Joes, Twitter and what's next

Former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning has been out of the NFL for a year now, and he hasn't had much choice but to be away from the game because of the coronavirus pandemic.
But one thing the two-time Super Bowl winner did find was Twitter -- and a way to show a different side of his personality. As he starts to figure out the next steps of his post-playing life, Manning sat down for a few minutes as part of a media campaign for Stella Artois' "Stella Stadium Bites" from Blue Apron to chat food and football.
Let's ask this first, what's your favorite stadium bite?
