California is enacting new sick leave policies for employees through a new law allowing for 80 hours of supplemental sick time for Covid-19 related illness or time missed at work. KFBK's Jensen Rader breaks down the new law and spoke with experts on how it works...
By law, here is what reasons are protected for full or part time employees:
is subject to a quarantine or isolation period per order or guideline of the California Department of Public Health, the CDC, or a local health officer
has been advised by a health care provider to self-quarantine due to COVID-19

Producer Kendall here! Today I got some beautiful orange nails to celebrate my most recent leukemia blood test which showed I am still, "cured" and leukemia free according to my Oncologist Dr. Law! For those who may just be learning: I was diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia on September 4th, 2019. I was admitted into the hospital the night I was diagnosed and immediately started on chemotherapy which was followed by a bone marrow biopsy the next morning. I was in the hospital for 1 month where I received my chemotherapy and numerous platelet and blood transfusions and once I was able to leave the hospital after a month I continued my daily 3 hour long chemotherapy arsenic infusions and ATRA chemo pills for 8 months. I am now happy to say I am cancer free thanks to the hard work of my amazing Oncologist Dr. Law and all of my nurses I love so much at the infusion center! I couldn't have won this battle with out all of the love and prayers from our listeners <3

Hey guys! Producer Kendall here! Today I went to the local record store right down the street from my house called, 'Phono Select '
I was on the prowl for Tomahawk's new album, "Tonic Immobility" :D I found some awesome other music while I was there!! I saw some Skinny Puppy records I saw on their social media recently and had to get them!! I also found some Melvins while I was there which I had to get and I was super stoked to find Lindey Buckingham's 'Law and Order' album which has my favorite song, "Trouble" on it! So happy to add to my collection! Thank you so much to Phono Select for growing my record collection today and the rad shirt! I will definitely be back soon for that Tomahawk and more browsing! The mother of a US Army officer is now back in Mexico after living as illegal immigrant in San Diego off and on for the past 31 years. The San Diego Union-Tribune says 51-year-old Rocio Rebollar Gomez was deported to Tijuana on Thursday after several last ditch efforts to stay with her family in the United States by requesting asylum failed. The mother of three first came to the U.S. in 1988 and has reportedly been deported three times before, making her ineligible for asylum.
Through a translator during a news conference outside the Edward J. Schwartz Federal Office Building in downtown San Diego she said, "I pray to God to work a miracle."

Delta Airlines To Cut Flights And Raise Fares As Fuel Costs Surge
A Delta Airlines flight that had just taken off from Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday had to make a quick landing back at the airport after a young girl on board the flight suffered a medical emergency and died.
Authorities say Delta flight 2423 bound for Seattle declared a medical emergency shortly after takeoff and turned around to land back at LAX. The passenger was identified as 10-year-old Janice Xu, Lt. David Smith of the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office told CNN.

Lance Everett has always craved adventure. The South Dakota native moved to Boulder, Colorado, at 19 years to compete in skiing and mountain biking, and he dreamed of becoming a professional endurance athlete. 
He once completed a 24-hour solo mountain bike race, and skied more than 100 days a year while working at a shop selling gear for outdoor recreation. Everett did telemark free heel skiing and loved big air terrain park stuff. “My best trick was a corked-out backflip,” he says, describing a not fully inverted sideways backflip.
Then, in 1999, everything changed when he met his girlfriend Kelley while working at a ski mountain. “I was the only guy there not looking for girlfriends. I was there to ski,” Everett says. But the young couple unexpectedly got pregnant with their first daughter, Emma, now 18. “It’s fantastic how dreams change. … I never had plans to be a pro dad,” says Everett, who is now a 40-year-old father of nine — eight daughters and one son.

Oliver, an orange tabby cat stowed himself away in his neighbors car and took an accidental ride all the way to Rancho Cordova from Greenhaven area this morning, city officials said. Thanks to the help of Costco Tore and Lee's Automotive, the cat was safely removed from the engine compartment in the vehicle. Oliver has been microchipped and was returned to his owner. Drivers are being reminded in wint months to check their engine and cars for any animals trying to keep out of the cold.
