Would Philadelphia Eagles trade up for Justin Fields in 2021 NFL draft?

PHILADELPHIA -- You just know the Philadelphia Eagles are going to make a splash in the 2021 NFL draft.
They're the Eagles. It's what they do, especially with general manager Howie Roseman behind the wheel. Since Roseman first took charge of personnel in 2010, Philadelphia has made 33 draft-day trades, the fourth most behind the New England Patriots (46), Minnesota Vikings (38) and San Francisco 49ers (36), according to ESPN Stats & Information research.
The Eagles enter Thursday's draft in Cleveland (8 p.m. ET, ABC/ESPN/ESPN the App) with a league-high 11 picks, giving Roseman all sorts of capital to maneuver around the draft board. Will he use it to move back into the top 10? Would it be for a quarterback? Let's dive in:

49ers' pick at No. 3 a tipping point for Kyle Shanahan, John Lynch

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- These days, no matter where San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan goes, he's sure to be inundated with opinions about which quarterback he should select with the No. 3 pick in this week's NFL draft.
Whether it's a restaurant or his kids' soccer games, everyone from parents to referees weighs in on the draft's biggest question. His closest friends have taken to texting Shanahan's wife, Mandy, because their opinions have gone without a response from Shanahan himself.
"You do have to block that stuff out," Shanahan said. "You can't make decisions based off of that. ... You might add a little pressure to that person, add a little pressure to the organization but whether it comes now or it comes later, there's pressure for everyone in this sport and it doesn't matter. I'm happy we're going to get one that we like and that we've done it right."

Broncos count Tim Tebow, Jay Cutler among QB misses in first round of draft

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- History says the Denver Broncos might want to hit pause this week if they are considering a quarterback in the first round of the NFL draft.
The Broncos' two Hall of Fame quarterbacks (John Elway and Peyton Manning) and four of their top five passing quarterbacks overall (Elway, Manning, Craig Morton and Jake Plummer) were not drafted by the team. In fact, the Broncos have not hit on one of their limited forays into finding a quarterback in the draft's opening round.
Since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970, the Broncos have used four first-round picks on quarterbacks -- Tommy Maddox with the 25th pick in the 1992 draft, Jay Cutler with the 11th pick in 2006, Tim Tebow with the 25th pick in 2010 and Paxton Lynch with the 26th pick in 2016.

Trey Lance, Mac Jones, Justin Fields? Experts debate best quarterback fit for 49ers

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Of the many decisions general manager John Lynch and coach Kyle Shanahan have made since they took over the San Francisco 49ers none are bigger than the one that awaits April 29.
After trading up in the draft, the Niners will use the No. 3 overall pick to choose their next franchise quarterback. The question now is which one?
"San Francisco had to make the decision to move up from 12 to 3 with the mindset that Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson were gone," Todd McShay, ESPN senior NFL draft analyst, said. "Maybe something changes but if you're John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan you have to make the decision to move up with that assumption. We're really talking about North Dakota State's Trey Lance, Alabama's Mac Jones and Ohio State's Justin Fields."
