Danish World War II epic “Into The Darkness” won the top honour of Golden Peacock Award at the closing ceremony of the 51st International Film Festival of India (IFFI), which was pared down considerably due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Director Anders Refn’s “Into the Darkness” chronicles the complex, emotional turmoil of the Danish people during the Nazi occupation of the country.

PANAJI: Danish World War II drama "Into The Darkness" won the Golden Peacock award at the closing ceremony of the 51st edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) here.
Directed by Anders Refn, the 152-minute film chronicles the complex, emotional turmoil which the people of Denmark had to undergo, during the Nazi occupation of the country.

IFFI apologises after mixing up Satyajit Ray's 'Sonar Kella' plot with Salman Khan's 'Dabangg',
The 51st International Film Festival of India (IFFI) on Saturday apologised for an incorrect information on its website, where synopsis of superstar Salman Khan's "Dabangg" was mistakenly put in the description of legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray's classic "Sonar Kella". The latest edition of IFFI is celebrating the work of Ray by screening five of his classics, including the 1974 "Sonar Kella".
The film, adaption of the book of the same name, features Soumitra Chatterjee, Santosh Dutta, Siddartha Chatterjee and Kushal Chakraborty. The official website of the festival, however, mentioned that "Sonar Kella" is backed by actor-producer Arbaaz Khan, Malaika Arora and Dhillin Mehta.

Panaji: The 51st edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is set to start in Goa on Saturday. Bangladesh will be the country in focus and the festival will pay tribute to legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray.
The opening ceremony will be held at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium at Panaji in Goa.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said in a statement that for the first time, IFFI is being held in a hybrid mode because of the COVID-19 pandemic."Hence, festival delegates will have the option to participate and watch films and other events virtually, sitting in the comforts of their homes.

Chhichhore was recently selected by IFFI among the many other films released, to be screened at the film festival.
Chhichhore, the 2019 film will be screened as part of the Indian Panaroma section at the 51st International Film Festival of India (IFFI). The nine-day film gala, will be held from January 16 to January 24.
This has left the actress of the film, Shraddha Kapoor feeling emotional.
