De gemeente Emmen vraagt de provincie Drenthe om de hoge zonnewand langs de A37 bij Erica te schrappen. Uit een enquête onder omwonenden blijkt dat zij hier weinig voor voelen.
Als het aan Rijkswaterstaat ligt, worden er langs de A37 over een traject van 42 kilometer zonnepanelen geplaatst zodat 35.000 huishoudens van stroom worden voorzien. Maar Forum voor Democratie (FvD) en de Partij voor de Vrijheid (PVV) zijn een stuk minder enthousiast. Hendrikus Velzing (FvD) en Nico Uppelschoten (PVV) vragen zich af of de plannen wel aan de milieuregels voldoen en hebben daarover Statenvragen gesteld.
