Commission on Human Rights
The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) launched on Tuesday, May 11, its “Usapang Karapatan sa Halalan Campaign,” a year-long platform for the discussion on human rights and the May 2022 elections.
Managed by the Human Rights Education and Promotion Office, the CHR said it “gives prime importance to mainstreaming the right to political participation, especially the right to vote, from a human rights lens.”
“With the 2022 national and local elections fast approaching, it is our hope that this campaign will support the Commission on Election’s (Comelec’s) registration drive, encourage more people to register and actively vote, and actively participate and meaningfully exercise their right to political participation,” it said in its Twitter post.
