Saanich council agreed to remove from the heritage registry a 1911 house at 3579 Quadra St. so it can be demolished for townhouses.

Saanich council voted 5-4 to approve Abstract Developments’ 25-unit townhouse project at the northeast corner of Rainbow Street and Sevenoaks Road.

The public will get a chance to weigh in on a large condominium project proposed for three single-family lots in the 3400-block of Shelbourne Street.

Saanich is reconvening a public hearing to consider rezoning three residential lots in the Swan Lake neighbourhood for a townhouse development.

“This will feel very much like the Atrium [at the corner of Blanshard and Yates streets]. We’re using the same architect and the same landscaper,” said Miller, who has been planning the Cook Street project for three years.
