PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Wednesday directed the Tourism Department to devise a comprehensive plan to establish integrated tourism zones in all merged districts.
He issued the order while chairing a meeting of the provincial task force on the merged districts, said an official handout.
The meeting reviewed the overall security situation, development and reforms initiatives and extension of provincial departments to the Orakzai district.
Besides provincial cabinet members Shaukat Yousafzai, Taimur Saleem Jhagra, Kamran Bangash, Ghazan Jamal, Chief Secretary Kazim Niaz, Corps Commander Lt-Gen Nauman Mahmood, administrative secretaries and other officials attended the meeting. ....

PESHAWAR: The Provincial Task Force was informed on Thursday that the economic development plan for all merged districts had been finalised under which 30 different projects have been proposed to be implemented at an estimated cost of Rs65 billion.
Chief Minister Mahmood Khan chaired the meeting, which reviewed the progress made so far on the ongoing developmental schemes, law and order situation, matters related to merger and administrative affairs in tribal district Khyber, said an official handout.
Besides cabinet members Shahram Tarakai, Taimur Saleem Jhagara, Akbar Ayub, Shaukat Yousafzai and Kamran Bangash, the meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Kazim Niaz, IGP Sanaullah Abbassi, Corps Commander Peshawar Lt-General Nauman Mahmood, Inspector General Frontier Corps Major-General Adil Yameen, Additional Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir and other civil and military officials. ....

Land issues delaying work on govt buildings in ex-Fata - Newspaper

PESHAWAR: The issues arising out of land acquisition in tribal districts are causing prolonged delays in the construction of government office buildings even two years after the region’s merger with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, sources say.
Sources told Dawn that since the funds released for buying land and putting up buildings weren’t being spent, their utilisation by the relevant government departments had slowed down.
They said after the extension of laws and government departments to the seven merged tribal districts, the government required buildings for district complexes to set up offices of all government departments at district level and tehsil complexes at tehsil level. ....
