Schools in Punjab reopened amid strict COVID-19 SOPs

LAHORE: All the public and private schools and colleges across the province have resumed in-person learning for Class 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th from today.
The educational institutes were reopened under a three-phase plan approved by the federal government last week.
In the second and final phase, schools would reopen for classes from Pre-1 to Class 8 while public and private universities would also reopen from February 01.
As per the COVID-19 related SOPs, all the schools reopening for Secondary and Intermediate classes from today would have 50% students on alternate days as practised earlier. ....

LAHORE: The Punjab government on Saturday issued instructions regarding reopening of schools in the province under the first phase of the plan announced by the federal government.
Earlier, the federal government had announced a phase-wise plan to reopen educational institutes in the country from Jan 18, which were closed on Nov 26, 2020, to contain spread of the coronavirus.
The Punjab School Education Department (SED) informed the schools about the decisions taken in the Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC).
It said that rules had been formulated in line with the federal education ministry’s notification issued on Jan 5. ....
