Leader of Opposition (LoP) Suvendu Adhikari visited the protest platform of the Dearness Allowance (DA) protesters to show solidarity. Adhikari said he will support the protesters if they organize 'Nabanna Abhijaan' to protest on the issue. Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress slammed Adhikari for his comments on 'Bengal will burn'.

যৌথ মঞ্চের অভিযোগ, সম্প্রতি ২০ জন সরকারি কর্মীকে ‘ডিটেলমেন্ট’ করেছে রাজ্য সরকার। তাদের হুঁশিয়ারি দেন, রাজ্য সরকার সেই সিদ্ধান্ত প্রত্যাহার না করলে লাগাতার কর্মবিরতির পথে হাঁটা হবে।
ভারতের সংবিধানের ১৯ অনুচ্ছেদে শান্তিপূর্ণ প্রতিবাদের অধিকারকে প্রতিটি নাগরিকের মৌলিক অধিকার বলে স্বীকার করা হয়েছে।
