Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has criticized the Election Commission for not adequately addressing the concerns raised by political parties regarding Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). Ramesh expressed disappointment with the Commission's response, stating that it failed to provide a substantive explanation and instead directed parties to generic FAQs. In a letter to Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, Ramesh expressed his dissatisfaction with the Commission's dismissal of his concerns about Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs).
