TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - The Riau Islands Central Statistics Department (BPS) noted that the number of impoverished people in Riau Islands during September 2020 increased by 142,611 people or 6.13 percent of the total population of Riau Islands. 
Head of Kepri BPS, Agus Sudibyo, through his written statement, said that the increase in the number of impoverished people in Riau Islands was triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic.
