(News photo Andy Flynn) LAKE PLACID Weather has hampered efforts to upgrade Main Street over the past week, but work is continuing as planned for the most part. Construction crews managed to replace a fire hydrant at Mirror Lake Drive near intersection of Saranac Avenue Wednesday, April 21 before shutting down operations due to snow, according to Haley Breen, community development director for the town of North Elba and village of Lake Placid. That meant work on the stormwater management system at One Main Park was put on hold. More snow was expected for the following day.
