The tornado that formed near Carstairs, Alta., on Canada Day was the strongest one Alberta has seen since 1987, Environment and Climate Change Canada said in a preliminary report.
Around 2:30 p.m., Environment Canada meteorologists tracked the tornado about 30 kilometres north of Lethbridge, moving northeast at 25 km/h.
