Belarus and Iran are expanding cooperation in the transportation sector. This matter was discussed at the meeting between Belarus' Transport and Communications Minister Aleksei Avramenko and Iran's Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Seyyed Mohammad Mousavi.
Negotiations with Egypt on opening regular flights between Cairo and Minsk are in the active phase. In November 2022, the Aviation Department issued accreditation to Iran's Mahan Air to operate flights between Minsk and Tehran.
One of the important topics discussed at the meeting was the possibility of involving the enterprises of the region in shipbuilding and the use of port infrastructure for Belarus. A working group has been set up to study all the aspects of the matters.

Aleksei Avramenko said: “We are increasing freight shipments to China in these conditions. Last year we sent 988 container trains to China. For instance, over 1 million tonnes of potash fertilizers was transported. Sawn timber, milk powder, and a number of other cargoes were also transported."
