TUNIS (Reuters) - Leaders of Tunisia's Islamist opposition party Ennahda, Rached Ghannouchi and Ali Larayedh, have been called for questioning by police on Monday for "sending jihadists to Syria," party officials told Reuters on Saturday.
Several Tunisians are denouncing the text suggested by Kais Saied's government.
The new constitution is the centrepiece of reform plans by President Saied and is set to go to referendum on July 25.
Political opponents of President Saied say the plebiscite would cement his sway.
Hundreds demonstrated on Sunday in Tunisia's capital against a planned referendum on constitutional changes and President Kais Saied's recent firing of dozens of judges. Protesters in Tunis responded to calls from opposition organisations, including Saied's nemesis the Islamist-inspired Ennahdha party, chanting "constitution, liberty and dignity" and "the people want an independent judiciary", an AFP correspondent said.
