Also in February, the United Nations released its 2020 human rights report on Colombia. Below is a summary of cases of human rights violations in February 2021.
 
Colombia’s human rights crisis continues to impact communities in many different parts of the country, with indigenous leaders, environmental activists and trade unionists, along with former combatants in the peace process, among those violently targeted in February. Fighting involving state security forces and different armed groups also impacted heavily on civilians.
Also in February, the United Nations released its 2020 human rights report on Colombia.

In recent months, the Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA) has received various requests for the protection of social leaders and ethnic minorities, as well as human rights cases requiring intervention. These have surpassed our staff’s ability to act on all of them in our usual, expeditious manner. As such, we are constrained to publishing alerts in a parceled manner.
