that we were all looking for across the country to pennsylvania and then they surveilled him for four days. that seems like an awfully long time to just keep their eyes on him and a lot of room for error, possibly. why did they -- why didn't they just arrest him back in washington state? >> well, alyson, you can't arrest someone until you have probable cause and convince adjudge you have probable cause to convince the jury you have a crime and a judge signs an arrest warrant to go and do the arrest. it is likely during that time period they were still working on connecting kohberger to the dna from the crime scene and if they were aware of him they would have associated him with the white car, they would have kept anymore under surveillance in idaho and as he makes his way across the country because they think he's probably their best
