Blue Angels, Thunderbirds Team Up to Execute New 'Super Delta' Flying Formation

The Navy and Air Force's flight-demonstration squadrons gave a sneak peek at a brand-new formation the teams will debut when they perform together Memorial Day weekend.
Six F/A-18 Super Hornets from the Navy's Blue Angels and six F-16 Fighting Falcons from the Air Force's Thunderbirds flew together Tuesday in a formation dubbed "Super Delta." The six Hornets formed a tight triangle and were flanked by three Fighting Falcons on each side.

Blue Angels, Thunderbirds together in 'Super Delta' formation


"The formation grew out of a series of joint training opportunities held in 2020 and 2021, and serves as a symbol of the teamwork, discipline, and skill of the men and women of our United States military forces deployed around the globe," read the Blues' Instagram post."
The "Super Delta" is formed when six Super Hornets fly in a standard delta formation while six Thunderbird jets flank them — three on each side. 
The America Stands Tall parade, hosted by the American Veterans Center in Washington, D.C., will be a nationwide broadcast on ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX affiliate stations between May 29 and May 31 during the Memorial Day weekend. The flight formations will re-air in the weeks after those dates, according to the Blues.

Publix, the most prominent private partner in Florida’s vaccine distribution network, strongly disputed a news report insinuating the company had been allowed to operate with little oversight.
The company’s corporate office offered strong words in response to a Miami Herald report regarding the supermarket’s COVID-19 vaccination program.
“From the beginning of the vaccination rollout at Publix pharmacies, Publix has been in direct and constant contact with the state, requesting direction and frequently detailing vaccination plans at our stores,” reads a statement from the Lakeland-based grocery chain.
