Red-flagged Eastern Cape councils called to account for poor performance
Several poorly performing Eastern Cape municipalities were summoned to the ANC provincial office in Qonce where they were grilled about their dismal audit outcomes. The party wanted to get a sense of what was happening in the local government sphere, pertaining to failing municipalities. The Wednesday meeting was confirmed by ANC PEC spokesperson Loyiso Magqashela, though he refused to shed light on who was invited and the subsequent discussions and resolutions.
