MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexico’s president said Monday he won’t get a COVID-19 vaccine because his doctors told him he still has a high level of antibodies from when he was infected in January.
“I have sufficient levels of antibodies and right now it isn’t indispensable for me to get vaccinated for now," said President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

MEXICO CITY (AP) - Mexico’s electoral tribunal ruled Wednesday that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador cannot talk about his administration’s achievements during the campaign leading up to June 6 mid-term elections.
The court’s ruling places the president in a tough spot. López Obrador has held news conferences almost every weekday since he took office in late 2018.

Mexico president censures US over State report critical of human rights

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador lashed out at the U.S. after the State Department’s annual human rights report painted a critical picture of the country’s press freedoms.
The report, released Tuesday, offers an analysis of human rights issues facing every nation, with the section on Mexico warning of gang violence along with censorship and intimidation of the media.
“We don’t get involved in opining about human rights violations in the United States. We’re respectful,” López Obrador said at a press conference.

Mexican government joins Biden administration in renewed crackdown on refugees and migrants

Mexican government joins Biden administration in renewed crackdown on refugees and migrants
The inhumane conditions facing asylum seekers and migrants on the US-Mexico border have been accompanied by collaboration between the Biden administration and the Mexican government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador in a brutal campaign to suppress migration.
After ending the reactionary agreements with Guatemala and Mexico to force those seeking asylum in the United States to wait in those third countries, the Biden administration is working with these same governments to revoke the right to request asylum at all, from anywhere.

MEXICO CITY (AP) — A candidate for a governorship in southern Mexico has been confirmed as the nominee of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s Morena party despite nationwide protests over the fact two women accused him of rape .
Candidate Félix Salgado has not been charged; the statute of limitations ran out on one case and the other is still being investigated. But intense protests spawned by the accusations forced the party to hold a second poll to determine whether Salgado, already the nominee, should continue in the race.
