With 14 more deaths caused by the floods in the last 24 hours, the toll in Assam reached 173 with over 29 lakh people in 30 districts affected by the deluge.

On Monday, the flood situation in Assam showed signs of marginal improvement in the affected districts. Meanwhile, the death toll in the state increased to 134 and over 21 lakh people continue to reel under the deluge.
As of now, 30 out of the state’s 35 districts have been categorised as flood-affected.
