Mystery surrounds the death of high profile Umhlanga attorney, Theasen Pillay, who has been found stabbed in his apartment after apparently leaving a suicide note in his office on Friday.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) said in a statement that 47-year old Theasen Pillay, owner of Attorneys Theasen Pillay & Associates, had been found dead in his apartment in Solstice Road in Umhlanga Ridge on Friday morning.
“Reaction Unit South Africa received a call at 11:34 from a relative requesting assistance after he made the discovery. Reaction Officers and RUSA Paramedics were dispatched to the scene and on arrival found Pillay in his bedroom. He suffered stab wounds to his arm and chest,” RUSA said.

Police have confirmed that an inquest docket has been opened to investigate the death of high profile Umhlanga attorney Theasen Pillay.
Police are investigating the death of high profile Durban attorney, Theasen Pillay, who was found in his apartment with stab wounds to his arm and chest on Friday.
SAPS spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala said an inquest docket had been opened for investigation at the Durban North police station.
“The Durban North police received a complaint of a man who was found with stab wounds on Solstice Drive in Umhlanga Ridge. They proceeded to the scene where a body of a 47-year-old man was found inside the bedroom with two stab wounds on the chest and on the left hand. He was certified dead by paramedics. The circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated,: Gwala said.
