Bharti-backed low earth orbit satellite firm OneWeb has been granted regulatory approvals from the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe) to launch commercial broadband services in India. OneWeb, which merged with France's Eutelsat, is the first entity in India to receive this approval.
IN-SPACe stated that OneWeb India aims to provide internet services to rural and unconnected areas and territorial waters of India on a 24×7 basis.
