Susan Blood, Banner Correspondent WELLFLEET Last spring, acting student Tatianna Chavez arrived at the home of David Simpson and Kathy Fletcher to visit for a few days on her spring break from Boston University. Chavez, a college senior, knew the couple as the founders of an arts organization in Wellfleet called All Our Kids. The arts organization aims to help young emerging artists succeed in life and meet their creative goals. In 2019, Chavez had spent the summer on a retreat with the nonprofit, known as “AOK,” (pronounced A-Okay). The retreat was at Simpson and Fletcher’s Wellfleet home, not far from the center of town. ....
South Philly Review Da Vinci Art Alliance unveils new exhibition The Da Vinci Art Alliance has opened a new exhibition of photographs, paintings, and installation works curated by Chelsey Luster, a 2020 fellow. Sanctuary: An Exploration of Queer Safe Havens explores safe spaces and personal sanctuaries through Queer POC artworks. The exhibition will be on view by-appointment February 18 through March 7 at Da Vinci Art Alliance at 704 Catherine Street and as a recorded video tour on the Da Vinci Art Alliance website, davinciartalliance.org. This exhibition showcases the works of Rick Vaughn, Autumn Wallace, Dara Haskins, Pablo Alarcón Jr., Jungmok Lee Yi, and the members of the Somatic Stories Project. ....
